What in the sam-heck is going on?

I have Wide Open West cable. I pay extra to have the Digital Package, to get the NFL Network. I watch the NFL Network every day. Heck, I just watched Nick Lachey sing the Nat'l Anthem, and now, I am told that I am being blacked out, my cable company is not carrying the game???!!!!

Tried calling WOW, they are already in damage control with a recording mumbling something about licensing.

I live in Franklin OH. which is part of the cincy viewing audience. I'm watching it now on local network TV. Channel 5 out of Cincy!

[color:"white"]Here's what's happening to you.

Despite having the NFL Network, some cable providers refuse to pay the EXTRA fee required to carry the game. Apparently, you're provider balked at paying the extra fee. As a result, NO GAME FOR U!

If you still want to watch it, read my post in the KC gameday forum. I'm watching it right now <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Bengals are about to kick a short fieldgoal. It sure is an eye-opener to see how Ogden, even in the twilight of his career, is so far superior to Shaffer.[/color]

***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy.

No, the NFL has a sweetheart deal with Direct TV, and you will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

I have Direct TV, I'm watching the game. Though I'm going out shortly so I won't see the end.

Most of the time there is a standard definition channel and an HD channel. That's how my cable is...

I've got DirecTV in my basement - no HD though there. I was watching the game till about halftime last night, but then the weather got to crappy and I couldn't get a signal. I ended up just listening to the rest of the game on Sirius...

Crud! I was trying to find a way to watch the game on tv (Time Warner does not carry NFL Network) and I didn't even THINK about logging into my Sirius online account! *grumbling*

I'll have to remember it for future reference though

You can get NFL Radio on Sirius online, but you can't get any of the games online. I have another receiver in the basement that I used...

I live about fourty miles north of Cincy and have Cincy cable. We are in the major market. We saw the game here on local netwrok TV. No NFL Network was nacassary.

I imagine the same will hold true in the Cleveland area. So if you live in Cleveland or close enough to get the major Cleveland network affiliates, the game should be televised on your local channel.

Somebody in your area may want to check this out,but that's how it worked here in the Cincy viewing area.

That's how it works in all local markets for the local team. Just like Sunday Night - er um, I guess now Monday Night Football. Either way, same idea - can't black out local markets unless game is not sold out.

Your right Pit. I live in Wisconsin and now that you mentioned it the Packer game was on local TV on Monday night. I'm sure the same will hold true for the Browns game. That helps the poeple living in Cleveland. As for the rest of you. You still have a couple of days to go get your dish.
