Just checked to see if he was listed yet. IMO 28 is too low. He's probably in the 15 range for me.

One of the best players of his era and currently in his prime.

Best Browns player of my lifetime.

I'm not sure if it will actually happen, but IMO he is a 1st ballot HOF.

He is a prime example of what a pro should be. I don't think he's missed one game his entire career. He's been a stable and beyond solid starter ever since playing his first snap IMO. He gives one or two up here and there, but to be as consistently and proven at shutting out what best and most elite rushers the NFL has to offer year and year again is a credit to Joe and all the meaningful aspects of him as a player/person.

... he does not run his mouth. He does not speak outta line, even as a rookie. He has been voted to the pro bowl year after year. He is pluggable in any offensive scheme, and IMO at any position on the oline excluding center. We've seen him pull, we've seen him run block, we've seen him pass block - he is a monster. We've seen him play on the right side of the line too as a moveable piece to I believe what was Daboll's scheme? I forget, but I know he's lined up on the right. Versatile. I wear the dude's jersey and number with the upmost pride!

Agree with all of that LB. He is the perfect example of a professional. IMO he is the best Brown since the return, and not only on the field.

Imo best "lineman" ever in the Brown n Orange..

I can remember getting Schaffrath's, Wootens, Hickersons sigs when they were in Hiram and just gaga over them watching the teams back then. The old timers do have a real special place in my heart, but........Joe is just so good.

When I get home from the games I watch the DVR'd version and whilst watching Joe T against his opponent it seems he's just effortless and in slo-mo, like he's slow dancin and the other 22 guys are in fast forward.

Good stuff, LB,and I think he has been a wonderful Brown, on and off the field. Deserves the HOF nod IMO (just not yet!). Joe is a TRue Pro. He sets the bar as to where class as a pro lives. Hope he is a lifer here.

I love Joe Thomas. Any true Cleveland Browns fan should. He is a classy guy and classy player. I think it's awesome that he is getting recognition on a team that doesn't receive a lot of it. If I were to go out and get a jersey tomorrow, I would only get a Thomas jersey. I know that will stand the test of time. I speak proudly as a fan when talking about Thomas.

I do struggle with something in regards to Thomas, however. He doesn't impact the win column. I would gladly take a lesser player at LT to upgrade other positions. Having the best LT in the game just doesn't really mean a whole lot when you have deficiencies elsewhere. I'd trade Thomas, Richardson, Gordon, and Weeden tomorrow for RG3. Without hesitation. I'd make that decision quicker than a nanosecond.

I love Joe Thomas. Unfortunately, he plays a position that by itself doesn't help change the fortunes of a team. I struggle with this thought often because of what a great and classy player he is. His real value will come when we upgrade the rest of the positions ... I get that ... but there is a champion crowned every year that has a worse LT than the Cleveland Browns.

As for Haden (since we've got some comments about him):

1. Haden does not make enough plays consistent with his draft position throughout a game.
2. Haden does not make enough plays in crunch time.
3. Teams are not afraid to throw at Haden.
4. You never hear about Haden's work ethic.
5. Horton implied that Haden is an underachiever.
6. I think the play that most epitomizes Haden to me is a play that he had absolutely nothing to do with. When Sheldon Brown got that pick six against Cinci last year, it was obvious that Brown had done his homework on that formation, play, and Dalton himself. That was a pure intellect play. That was the result of film study and smarts. In three years, I have yet to see Haden make any type of similar play.

And as to the people on this board who are claiming the players don't know which players are good and bad ... yikes ... talk about a reach. No one knows better than the players who are good and bad.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Yeah Joe T by far our best player in a long time. Its been a while having a legit HOFer on the team.

I too am surprised by no Haden - without a doubt no where near the top 50 class for now but not knowing what CBs were chosen in the last quadrant to compare n complain that he is better.

What I do know is that Haden does not make INTs which is a stat that sticks in his peers minds and what turns their heads. Keep in mind we never had the pass rush nor blitzing efficiency to make him shine with big plays.

JMHO at least we got more than one - I remember going through the off season having to post on why we had none

The CB's on the list are Patrick Peterson, Richard Sherman, Champ Bailey, Darrelle Revis, Tim Jennings, Brandon Flowers and Charles Woodson.

Bailey, Revis and Woodson are name recognition locks.

Peterson got absolutely torched in coverage last year, but he is a talent and a name.

I'd say most of those guys are better than Joe... he belongs in the conversation.

But I'd take Joe over most mainly due to age.

Yeah you figure there are 22 starting positions. Joe T has been a pro bowler every season n All Pro the last few. Also the LT position is not one like OG, ILB, TE, FB its a pretty elite position there just are not STATS So one would think he would make at least the top 22 take away 5 positions and he figure top 17 at the least. But impressionism rules. Highlight film Rules. When does a LT get a chance to put his hand behind his head while prancing into the Endzone holding the ball out so he can get PROPS from Sanders

Ahhhh...whatever I'll take the 28

Amazing how consistent he has been for us, one of our best draft picks. The hard part for us is really getting a true appreciation for him, b/c over the years how bad our offense has been (which isn't his fault). But it's nice to see the videos of him, b/c it shows how dominant and impressive he is at his position.

Thanks for being a great player and role model for our team Joe!

I want to add something about Joe. Some of our own fans don't think he is a good run blocker. The national publication that listed him as a great player dissed his run-blocking ability. I am saying that this is a false assumption.

Most seem to believe you have brutish strength to be a good run blocker. Heck, many think that you are good at blocking in the running game if you are really, really big and strong. Untrue.

Joe has great technique. His footwork coming out of his stance is impeccable. He keeps great balance. His pad level is low. His chest is over his thighs. His agility is awesome. He is one of the best gap blockers I have ever seen. Joe doesn't pancake guys, but what he does is keep himself between the defender and the guy with the ball, whether it be his qb or his rb.

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
