"The Browns have signed seventh-round pick Armonty Bryant, the club said Friday. Bryant’s NFL career did not get off on the right foot. He was arrested for DUI on May 3, six days after the Browns selected him No. 217 overall. He quickly pleaded no contest to the charges, and the Browns have kept him on the roster. If he is to make the Browns, it would figure to be as a reserve. In an interview with the Cleveland Plain Dealer in June, Bryant said he was working to make healthier decisions, telling the paper he had stopped drinking. Bryant, 23, notched 27.5 sacks in three seasons with East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma." http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/07/19/browns-sign-rookie-dt-armonty-bryant/

I was confused as to why Bryant took this long to sign anyways? I would assume that the front office had all of the leverage.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Good To Hear
John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

I would assume that the front office wanted to make sure that he stayed on the straight and narrow until the last possible second before they signed him for training camp. No sense signing him 3 weeks ago and have him get into more trouble. Kind of a "mini" show me ...... and if he'd had further trouble, they just would have renounced his rights.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

Good point Ytown ... I didn't think of it that way.

If the kid can stay clean (which remains to be seen), I think he has the potential to be the steal of the draft. I see that great initial burst and plastic man wing span and I am blown away. It is hard to express the excitement with this kid over a keyboard.
I see a lot of Elvis Dummerville in this kid. I am not talking just talent to play in this league but we are talking talent to be a dominate force in this league. If I had been GM the kid would not have made it out of the 3rd and that is with the knowledge he was a drug dealer lol.

They keep saying that the drug history is why teams may have took the pass on him. He seems to have stayed outta trouble since the recent event. He could be the steal that other teams regret not getting, we surely will find out sooner or later!

Cut him some slack.... he can only stay out of trouble the number of days that have passed - it's not like there's the possibility of extra credit here.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Easy with the sarcasm, Titus Young couldn't go a few days. He was arrested three times in a WEEK. Cut Armonty some slack. He is sticking true to the words he said at the rookie symposium and thus far we can only be happy with that... besides I don't think Banner would have extended him a contract if he'd thought otherwise...

Glad he is here and hasn't gotten into any more trouble, but the thought of him getting into more trouble won't go away----same as Gordon and even Haden to an extent. Seems like I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I understand that.
But a lot of people have a tendency to act like this is some sort of achievement.
When Gordon was suspended, how many people acted like it was a blip on the radar, and gave him credit for staying out of trouble for less than a year?

::Raising hand as well:: I will take all the good stuff in the right direction we can get going into camp. This might be a bigger deal for him than we know. Congrats of a sort.
