Just watched the surveillance tape. I'd be a shame to suspend a kid for any amount of time for that. Totally lame and nothing to get excited about.
It looks like she tried to slap him. Then it looks like he pushed her slightly and walked away immediately.
From reports I was thinking this was a way bigger deal than it looks like it was.
There aren't a whole lot of scenarios where it's cool to push a woman.
A girl slaps you, throws a drink in your face, you just turn and walk away.
He's young, and he needs to learn that. 'She hit me first' isn't really a great defense. That's the stuff you hear from shirtless goofballs on "Cops".

You have the right to protect yourself, and get someone off you. My dad always said if a woman is acting like man, treat her like one.

I hear ya loud and clear! Meyer says Hyde would have been kicked off the team if chargers were filed: http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2..._special-reportI like the message Urban is sending to the players and enforcing the sort of "no tolerance" protocols.

Damn, so funny you brought this up just now. About a half hour ago, down the street from me, three cop cars pulled up, sirens going off. Cops jump out, rush into the house guns drawn.
I stood there with my neighbor on her porch and we just watched. They brought out a kid in cuffs, I'd say in his 20's, thug type with a bunch of tats and pants down around his butt,, a real gangsta wannabe.
Anyway, he was yelling all the way to the cop car saying "she hit me first"... the cop didn't care,, he said to kid, that it was time for him to quiet down that it didn't matter what he had to say and that he was under arrest.
I just told my neighbor,, well, it couldn't have been that bad, no ambulance was on the scene. Just then, I look up and here comes one..
I had to leave so I didn't see if they took someone away or were there just as a precaution.
Never thought I'd see that happen in my neighborhood.

It looked like he was trying to set that one man up with one of those girls. From the tape it looked pretty petty. Just looked like he reacted when the girl lunged at him. He did walk away. Think this was way overblown. I think with Meyer's past history with discipline he is just making an example out of Hyde. He could've easily gave no suspension.

Yup, if someone makes that call on you, you're getting picked up.
I have actually dealt with it with these neighbors that I've had for about a year now. We share a hallway. They fight all the time. The cops have been called several times.
One night last winter, I was napping before a late game that I had, I woke up to her banging on my door and screaming. I called the cops and let them deal with it. If this had been the first time I ever heard anything out of them, I would have let her in, but I was not getting involved in their bi-weekly domestic. He took off before the cops got there, and I left for my game as soon as they arrived.
I don't know what happened that night, I never saw her face to see if she had been hit, but according to my girlfriend (who I have said before is a dispatcher) that because she called the cops on him, that no matter what happens, if they see him again, they have to bring him in. I am hoping they get called again.
Oh, and she's pregnant. How awesome is that? How F'd is that kid already?

If someone hits me and means physical harm to me, I'm retaliating. I don't care if it's a woman or man, you have no idea what they're capable of. Too many white knights out there.
