Now you can choose to say that Green doesn't count because he's going to be 36.
Maybe I'm wrong,, but I thought he was 36 now but by he season, he'll be 37..I know,, Picky Picky Picky
Quote:
To be perfectly blunt about it, Green is 35 going on about 32 or 33. Remember, he never started a game in the NFL until he was 28 years old.
Ok, I'm confused now,, is he 35 going on 36 or 36 going on 37?
Are you saying Green is more like 32 in Football years,,,, is that like Dog years
I hate to be the person that tells you this Toad,,but it's age,, as well as wear and tear that will push you toward retirement
Quote:
So it's possible. Very possible. Besides, if getting Green means allowing Frye to sit and learn, that could solve our QB situation for the next....oh.....I dunno.....ten years or so.
OMG,, Toad is saying that FRYE may have a future despite his lack of arm strength and small hands etc etc...
This is classic man,,, Totally classic

Damanshot you are correct. Overtoad is wrong.
Trent Green was born July 7, 1970
Trent Green will be 37 when the season starts.

Here I go defending Toad What he is saying, or my interpretation, is he doesn't claim to have the ability to accurately predict the future. He is leaving room for the possibility that Charley( this is for you Mensa) might develope (this is for you PPE) into a starting QB in spite of his flaws. IIRC Joe Montana did not have a rocket arm or huge hands. We all know how that turned out. As Toad has been saying lately, Phil is looking at QBs for a reason. But the facts are that Phil has had many opportunities to get another QB and has yet to pull the trigger. Does it mean he feels Frye might turn into a capable starter? Does it mean he will draft a QB at #3? Does it mean he will pull off a draft day or later deal for a vet QB? I'm not sure that Phil and RAC are certain at this point.

tradition can only carry you so far, then you have to start winning again.

Line,,, we know that! I just love to jab at Toad,,, Heck, I don't even need a reason to do so.. He's a fun guy to to have witty converstions with.
I'm pretty sure he's not offended by anything I say to him.,. the same is true in reverse...

i agree with Green being good for us.
One question for you...You said Green already knows the system. How?
Id be happy if he did, but how could he?
Beside that, bringing Green in would be a good thing, AS LONG AS IT DOESNT SIGNAL THE END OF CHARLIE. That would be dumb. Bring Trent in, and let Charlie watch and learn. Dont cut him.

It's a TEAM game. Everyone gave credit to McNair this year fo rBaltimore - oddly, he was worse than Dilfer in the Super Bowl year. Dilfer is a leader. You see, QBs don't have to throw for 250yds per game and 3 TDs to be good. I always find it funny when people use wins to dis Frye then use wins to praise Ds then use wins to praise other QBs. You pick and choose. FACT - Dilfer is a Super Bowl winning QB. Fact - Dilfer lead a horrendous team in Tampa to the playoffs. FACT Dilfer lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl win. Also kicked it off real nice with a beautiful 38 yard TD pass to Brandon Stokley. Strange how the following year they "upgraded" the position with Grbak, then went to Boller and then "upgraded" with McNair. But that's right Mcnair is God, even though Dilfer lead the team to the big show and won it.

pretty convincingly too.
That 38 yarder to Stokely was more than enough to win that game, but they scored several more times

FACT - Dilfer is a Super Bowl winning QB.
so was mark rypien and doug williams. the thing those three have in common? that was their 1st and last good year. they did zilch after that.
Fact - Dilfer lead a horrendous team in Tampa to the playoffs.
is that the same team that had the same type of horrendous D that the rats had?
FACT Dilfer lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl win.
i thought it was the D that kept the other team from scoring. it's funny also that the rat's unloaded this SB winning QB as soon as the season was over. think it was his huge contract that they were trying to get out from under? naahh
tradition can only carry you so far, then you have to start winning again.

Speak for yourself.
I'm deeply.........DEEPLY..........wounded and feel as though you owe me recompense.
I believe an Easter ham delivered to my door by you, dressed in a rather large pink bunny suit, should do the trick.
