ok, it's a fluff piece, but KC's OC still said it and it's hilarious. then again, it worked for Eli Manning (claiming he was one of the best QB's the preseason before he broke out and won his 1st Superbowl) and Joe Flacco (last year claiming he was the best QB and winning his 1st Superbowl). Not sure if it works the same when your OC says it for you though Quote:

The Kansas City Chiefs paid a steep price to acquire Alex Smith this offseason, but according to offensive coordinator Doug Pederson, Kansas City got a steal. Pederson considers the quarterback the best in the NFL.

"Ultimately, every team has to have a quarterback," Pederson told The Kansas City Star. "I think we have the best in the league."

I was just about to post this because it is ridiculous. I actually thought it was from the onion at first, and had to double check. I understand a coach needs to instill confidence, but yikes.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I still dont get how a team was as horrible as KC was last year and had 7 Pro Bowlers.

he San Francisco 49ers, who held the first overall pick, had hired a head coach with a strong personality in Mike Nolan. Nolan thought Smith to be cerebral, introspective, and non-confrontational.
Sounds exactly like one of the best QBs in the game.

Not to mention bad coaching. Philly's been the same way. Great talent, over the hill coach.

Reminds me of when Heckert said we had the best group of linebackers in the NFL.

I'm certain that KC is banking on that not being factual...

Does this mean we can trade for Aaron Rodgers for less than a second round pick?
That Jim Harbaugh must be a real dummy to bench the best QB in the league midway through the season.

Wait wasn't Brady Quinn the best QB in the league?

7 Pro-Bowl all under a head coach's rule that really doesn't know what he was doing or prep his team for game day. Pretty confident RAC won't ever see another head coaching gig unless it's for a pee-wee team. Great guy, I mean outstanding individual - but not meant for HC position, meant for DC.

Andy Ried could turn things around but just like it is here, it's all "to be seen".
