Who will we get, how many today, will these be the guys all year...?

Dunno, dunno, and doubtful.

Broncos signed RB Edwin Baker to the practice squad.
Baker will get the first call if one of Montee Ball, Ronnie Hillman and Knowshon Moreno goes down with injury.

Bills signed QB Thaddeus Lewis and WR Tommy Streeter to the practice squad.
Lewis was among the Bills' final cuts, but will presumably get the first call if they decide to add an arm behind E.J. Manuel and Jeff Tuel. Lewis has attempted 32 career passes.

wow Thad is still eligible for the PS? I wouldn't have thought that. Good for him.

Here's the nfl.com PS-tracker:
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000237146/article/practice-squads-for-all-32-nfl-teams

Denver:
RB Edwin Baker, OT Paul Cornick, G Ben Garland, WR Tarvarres King, OT Vinston Painter, WR Gerell Robinson, DE John Youboty

Surprised that no one claimed T.King

I would think that we'll sign Kanneh or Auguste to the practice squad. Both guys showed flashes of ability in the preseason.

I liked Fort. Hope to see this whole waiver and PS deal get sorted out. Let's get on with it and get it on!

I liked Fort in the 4-3 ...... but evidently the team didn't feel that he fit in the 3-4. Out of respect for Horton, I am inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt on a backup LB.

Auguste for sure, especially since Im not ecstatic with the CB position.

I wonder if Sheldon Brown is staying in shape in case of injury. If the Browns end up making a playoff push and start getting injuries at CB, it wouldn't hurt to bring him back. I think he will be signed by some team at some point in that scenario.

I liked what I saw of Auguste in preseason. He was very raw and made some technical mistakes, but I liked his potential.

I can't believe Sheldon Brown doesn't have a job in the NFL. He wasn't that bad last year.

He played with more instincts than Haden did.

His body just couldn't do what his mind was telling him to do at his age.

He does seem to be one of the few older veterans we've signed that wasn't just a complete dud.

As I just said in the other thread, I'd almost take Brown over Owens at this point (that's a scary thought). Sheldon would give up some big chunks, but he was good for a nice play or two a game and wasn't a total waste.

I think that Brown took a lot of undeserved grief on the boards. He seemed to be everyone's whipping boy.

Yes, he gave up some plays......but, he also made a lot of good plays. I thought Heckert made a good move by bringing him in.

I still can't believe he doesn't have a job.

Totally agree. He frequently provided very tight coverage, although the very odd time he did get beat, it was obvious. I always liked Sheldon...

Brown was worse in 2011 but had a decent 2012, but that still didnt get him a contract offer from anyone in the league and he'd be a bad fit in Horton's press man scheme, as he lacks the turn and run at this point.

Additional concern is the lack of height of our DBs and especially CBs. Haden is our tallest CB at 5106, the other 3 are barely over 5090. Ward is 5104 and Gipson is 5113. In other words, we don't have one single starter in the DB 6feet+ . That hast to be one of the smallest DBs around.

The pass rush better be good and even if it is, some desperate jump ball throws will still be completed on them.

It definitely goes with Horton's theme, he likes little DB's who can hit and his big men up front who can run.

There are two schools of thought. You can have big DB's who can muscle big receivers but can't tight cover the little speed guys. Little DB's can cover the speed guys but need work popping the ball out on tall receivers. With little guys, it is vital the front seven put pressure on the QB.

Browns sign seven players to their practice squad, including sixth-round pick Jamoris Slaughter
By Nate Ulrich Published: September 2, 2013

The Browns signed the following seven players to their practice squad: defensive backs Jamoris Slaughter, Kip Edwards, Darius Eubanks, Terrence Frederick and Julian Posey and wide receivers Jasper Collins and Tori Gurley.

The Browns drafted Slaughter, a free safety from the University of Notre Dame, in the sixth round this year. On Saturday, they cut Slaughter, who’s dealing with a pulled groin muscle. Like Slaughter, Gurley spent training camp with the Browns.

Another player of note is Collins, an undrafted rookie from the University of Mount Union.

The Browns still have one open spot on their practice squad. Fullback/tight end Brad Smelley, whom the team cut Sunday, is a candidate to fill the eighth and final spot because he’s practice-squad eligible.

I'm intrigued to see what they do with Gray. He actually threw the ball pretty well at the combine. He's got some really impressive highlights catching the ball as well. Hopefully Turner sees some Gates in him.

Grey was a college QB from Minnesota. He was with the 49ers in camp as a TE. Milton is a huge TE that was a DT before he changed positions in college. He is something like 6'4, 293.

He sure seems like he's quick, athletic and elusive enough to make a really good TE. He also hs solid size for an NFL TE. He's been a receiver, so he should have solid hands. He seems like the kind of guy who could get the ball in the seam and run a long time. I'm excited to see him on the field. I bet he gets on the field before too long.

The other guy we signed seems like a big blocking type.

Smelley was cut. He is eligible for the PS if the Browns want him. The two new guys seem more like projects than contributors (on offense) at this point.

Don't know a thing about Milton, But Grey was a QB/Receiver for the Gophers.. Was a pretty good athlete. Big guy,, 6 ft 4in or so and roughly 250 lbs.

Big boy. I think he was an UDFA with the 9ers.
