Double play... Not going so well.

I want the Cleveland Browns to be my pallbearers so they can let me down for the last time.

That double play was the play of the game, trust me. HUGE momentum swing right there.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Auuggghhh.

They're killing me here.

Bases loaded, don't score. 2 on with nobody out ......don't score.

Man, we have been so good in those situations this year.

Guess it's too early in the game for the dramatic comeback. lol

Completely out-hitting the Rays, even our outs are harder hit.. just can't get that ONE CLUTCH HIT!!!!

In the next 3 innings, we will get 1 more chance to score runs.. that's my prediction.

With this team ..... they are NEVER done. (well, until the game is actually over)

I have seen too much downright weird stuff this year to write them off till every out has been played.

Masterson did a nice job in the top of the 7th. I suspect that he'll come out for another inning. (maybe 2)

That's the story of Cleveland franchises. Never making the plays that need to be made on the biggest stage. Usually just have it happen against them.

This is the thing I can't stand about modern baseball... everybody wants to hit a home run. With runners in scoring position, NOBODY is just trying to get a hit, move runners... God forbid somebody might actually bunt....

With 2 outs and 2 on in the 7th inning and down by 3, Swisher is still trying to hit a homerun rather than get the ball in play and try to get a hit... It's pathetic..

These guys have played bad against good teams all year. Their record was really inflated.. Time for Antonetti to get that big bat in the lineup.

Damn... if the Indians come back and make this a game or even win, that play from Chisenhall will be one of the big reasons why.. they needed that.

What exactly was he arguing about on that called 3rd strike? It wasn't even close.. it was a strike, take the bat off your shoulder.

Looks like we're gonna need a magical 9th inning again.

Bring it on!

Glad we spent all that money on bourn and swisher...really payed dividend when we needed...oh wait..no it didn't. I think Tito is a great manager, but he blew the pitching today, Salazar has 2 pitches on a good night and had no business starting this important of a game. I would have went with masterson. This team needs a bat, we don't have one. And we need a leadoff hitter that can hit for average. And Assdribble really shouldn't be on the team next year. He puts himself in soo many bad counts by trying to swing for the fence. That bases loaded double play he hit into is what cost us the game..it was all uphill both ways from there. Our "role" players are the only ones producing, and our big tickets aren't playing where they are being paid. Disappointing. But i think everyone kind of expected this. Indians haven't been able to beat anyone with a winning record all year. But I think they've showed theres a few pieces to work with and we have a great manager finally, and the pitching coach has done an amazing job. Got ubaldo and kazmir relevant again. I'd like to see both back next year.

I think they will trade a-cab in the off-season. he's in a contract year. I would love to sign Ubaldo at the right price. I wouldn't sign him for more than 3yrs 30 million. No way would I give him $40-60 million. 1 good half year isn't enough to warrant that kind of money.

The bats let us down tonight. Salazar didn't blow the game. we had chances to get back in it. He just made a few bad pitches. When you score 0 runs, what's the point?

To call the bats streaky would be an understatement. We have no clutch, get a hit when you really need one guy on the team. Brantley is the closest thing.

OK, we need that 9th inning magic.

It's always darkest before the dawn.

There's a gleam men. Get the gleam.

It's not over till it's over!

Let's go Tribe!!!

I agree. they were clutch when they had a stiff from minny or chicago pitching to them. When they faced a good team, they usually didn't score much. They were consistent in that regard.

Well I think it's pretty much pre-ordained that the Browns will lose tomorrow in Buffalo. The sports gods chortled when they saw Cleveland fans having a little too much faith in their teams last week. We need to be put back in our places.

Hopefully there's no connection. I have a feeling that the Bills won't have much success against our defense, or shouldn't. And at least Hoyer is starting tomorrow and that gives me a little bit more confidence since he appears to know what he's doing.

Be happy they made it this far. There are many other teams that would have loved to have made it that far. The Indians would not be where they are now if it wasn't for Swisher, Bourn, etc.

Well, I'm still proud as can be how this team turned it around this year. They have some really good stuff to build on for next year.

Ubaldo has talked about how much it meant to him to be able to turn it around for the Indians after playing so poorly, and after they gave away so much to get him. Hopefully that allows the Indians to somehow manage to re-sign him.

I like the way the pitching is set up for the Tribe though.

Even if we lose Ubaldo and Kazmir, we still have Masterson, Kluber, Salazar, McAllister, and 1 of Tomlin, Carrasco, or Bauer.

We need to replace Chris Perez and Matt Albers in the bullpen. (Unless we re-sign Albers)

I suspect that Cabrera will be traded. Perez will probably just be released. I can't imagine anyone giving up much for him when their last memory of him is several implosions in his last few games. Maybe Lindor can make the jump from AA to the Majors. His defense is Major League, and he has a fast bat. He also has speed on the bases. Maybe he's another Kipnis? I think that he could lead off one day, but with his bat speed and control, and some degree of power, he could be an eventual #2 or #3 hitter as well.

Man, I love that we found Gomes from nowhere. I think that he'll be our starting C, with Santana playing 1st, and sliding behind the plate when Gomes needs a day off. Swisher can DH, play 1st, and play the outfield as needed. I guess this would be similar to how this year played out, except that Gomes would be the starter.

I would love to somehow find a power hitting 3rd baseman. (who wouldn't?) I don't think that Jose Ramirez can play 3rd. I would hate to monkey around with Kipnis, but I wonder if he could play 3rd. If he could, maybe we could bring Lindor and Ramirez up as a team. Ramirez had a nice little cup of coffee with the Indians this season. He looks like a little kid, but he has a nice bat, and he is a plus level defender.

Overall, I am happy with the way the team developed this year. People complain that we "beat up bad teams", but that's where good teams start. In 2012, we were getting beat up by bad teams. I think that Mickey Calloway did a tremendous job with our pitching staff. Wow! doesn't even begin to cover the job he did. Were there some players he couldn't help? Sure. But look at what he did with Kazmir, Ubaldo, and Kluber, and that more than made his salary worthwhile.

I hope that the team manages to add a couple of quality players this off-season ..... but they can't sign those top line free agents because they need draft picks to rebuild their Minor leagues. They should tender Ubaldo, so they can collect a draft pick if/when he signs elsewhere. It would probably take a $13-14 million tender ..... but based on what he showed in the 2nd half of the season, I think that he'd be worth the risk. If he signs elsewhere, we'd receive a 1st round pick for him. That's a win win as far as I'm concerned.

I am encouraged because of the way the team progressed this year. I think that we can get quality for Cabrera. We do seem to make some solid trades. We also seem to do well with pitching reclamation projects.

I am psyched for next year. Hopefully we make another big step forward.

I know what you are saying.. but I'm tired of hoping for, and being happy with, something just above mediocrity..

I have the Browns tomorrow night and Maryland vs Florida State on Saturday, I hope tonight was not the beginning of a trend.
