At least they're providing a service though. The game flows better when excess snow is removed, especially in the corners.

i don't know if you are using innuendos or not with that statement

I'm gonna ask the wife to remove the excess snow from my corners tonight. We'll see what she says.

What is people fascination with cheerleaders?

In high school I can see it, small stadiums, hormonal kids. But in the NFL, I have never paid much attention to the cheerleaders at games I have ben to in Miami and Tampa, my focus was on the games. It is not like you can hear them cheer unless your in the first 15-20 rows.

I have never thought my game experience was lessened or increased by the presence or lack of cheerleaders.

During play they don't offer much IMO... but it's an added entertainment... they are more dancers than Cheerleaders... with them during the game they will do some dancing prior to the game, at the 2 min warnings and then sometimes at half time with different singers. Plus they do some cheers with the whole crowd with large signs which is pretty cool

The other thing is that the Texans cheerleaders are huge ambassadors of the team. They constantly are going to events around the city to promote the team.

I'd be extremely surprised if we don't add cheerleaders in the next year or two

I could say the same thing about making sure thousands of people in the stadium have good cell service so they can stare at their phones and make tweets and check their fantasy teams during the game.... It's not something I do or enjoy, therefore it's worthless..... In the end, they are both just a distraction for an ADHD crowd during downtime in the game.... so if you can focus on your "fantasy team", why can't I focus on mine?

Not sure what you're going to focus on. A dozen or so women wrapped up in parkas for the majority of the season?

DCDAWGFAN - that's funny. Though I didn't get it until ExclDawg's post.

I don't want cheerleaders. They are always hugging me and kissing on me, and asking me to take them home with me. Damn trouble makers

I'll tell those ones I reject to go bother someone else.

This right here is the most common-sense reason why cheerleaders in Cleveland is a stupid idea.

Do you really want to see a chorus line of orange & brown "Michelin Men" high-steppin' on your sidelines for 2/3 of the season?

(Damn, that's one creepy-ass mental image-)

OK, dont mean to be an azz, but really? New + Traditions? Isn't a tradition NOT new by definition?

I don't want to be rude but I really don't know what you mean at all. Are you trying to refer to their blue collar image or what? Is blue collar = real football? You can't mean real football = good football because historically Buffalo and Detroit suck.

No, I don't mean GOOD football....Buffalo, Detroit, Cleveland...hahaha. Yes, I mean they are more of the blue-collar, smash mouth football clubs. A couple of those teams may not fit the mold exactly, but for me, they do in an odd way. It doesn't matter, I can't really put words to the thought at the moment and don't really care to.

These are new for now and will be traditions from here on out. Traditions have to start somehwere. Also not trying to be an azz, but I didn't think I'd need to explain that to anyone.

I guess I understand the notion that some people want them, I also understand the notion that some people don't care... I just don't understand the option that people are adamantly opposed. Of all the things the team spends money on that have nothing to do with winning/losing football games, I wonder why this one gets singled out as somehow more wrong than everything else...

I'm old enough to remember the Brownie Elf. Have always liked it. Probably because I was a child when I first noticed it associated with the Browns.

I work as a designer in a sign shop. We do full-color digital printing. I have made a short stack of Brownie Elfs from which I prominently display one in the lower left corner of the backglass of my car. I made the duplicates so I'll never run out of them and be able to replace it every year.

For me the Elf is a tradition from the past as is the uniforms and helmets. I want to hang onto that.

One of the very unique things about the Browns is that when we wear retro uniforms most fans don't even notice them because they've changed so little over the years. That makes us individual and unique. Once we change the uniforms in a noticeable way that is gone and lost forever.

I like apple pie the way my mom made them. It doesn't need caramel sauce or an abundance of cinnamon to give it "flavor". Likewise, I like mashed potatoes the way my mom made them too. They don't need garlic or other flavorings to give them "flavor". They taste like potatoes the way they are. I like potatoes.

Our uniforms don't need "sprucing up" with new shades/tones of orange & brown to "keep up with the times". The trouble with that is that the times are always changing. Once we change to keep up with the times then we will be forever forced to change every time we perceive the times have changed again. It happens to every team who has done this. I'll admit that some of those teams needed to change because their old uniforms looked ridiculous from any viewpoint. But the Browns uniforms are timeless.

We don't need no "dawg" logo or especially not a football with a "B" in it. One reason we've never seen a decent Browns logo suggestion is because the name doesn't allow for one. It's an enigma. Try to find a picture of a Brown. You can't. We're named after our founder and first head coach, not an animal nor an ill perceived minority. So eschew any thoughts of a logo.

I like the Elf, the uniforms and the no-logo appearance of the Browns. It's tradition, but beyond that it's unique to the league. Instead of something new to make us stand out from the other teams how about leaving all that alone. We already stand out from the other teams by virtue of being the only team to not have a logo and to have not noticeably changed our uniforms over time. I love that.

As for cell phones, I wouldn't take a cell phone to a game other than to be alerted of a family emergency. My own personal choice is to soak in the whole experience of the game and stadium atmosphere. When I do get the opportunity to attend the game I'm not one to dash out early to "beat the traffic". In a stadium you and 25,000 others have that same idea. Trying to get a jump on traffic with 25,000 others is still a traffic jam. It doesn't work. I'd rather just sit in my seat and enjoy the experience. The one time I was able to be one of the last to leave was the one time I "beat the traffic" by letting all the others get out of the way first. I'd rather sit in my seat and enjoy the stadium than sit in my car pounding the steering wheel in disgust.

Regarding cheerleaders, if I don't have one sitting in my lap but am forced instead to watch them from hundreds of feet away then I won't be watching them anyway. If they're good PR then great. Have them and use them for that. Otherwise they serve no purpose in professional football.

I think its awesome that we can argue about cheerleaders rather than QB's for a change.

Wait until these guys get a load of these hotties on the sideline.

I can't wait to see what kind of ads google gives you for searching for that pic.

I've been searching a lot for new motorcycle stuff and a Bose system I want to get, so this search has already been flushed out.

I like the ELf when done "right". The "fierce elf" is kinda cool. Even the elf that is smiling puffing out his chest is alright. That guy in the elf outfit running around on the field looks goofy. JMO but I think the Elf could be cool but very easily could be a disaster if the team isn't careful.

I love the elf but in no way want him any where near the uniforms.

The flag is alright.

Id take cheerleaders.

As far as the uniform change, I would like to add a light brown to the uniform with the darker brown numbers and sleaves.

I wouldn't mind the elf on the uniforms. I wouldn't like a huge logo, but the elf like on the hip of the pants? I think that'd be sweet.

The only way I would like it is if it was a small logo, like a branding logo, like a Nike or Polo logo. Keep him off the helmets for sure.

I think it might be cool to have the elf on the back of the helmet. Small enough to to fit completely within the white strip.

But definitely not on the side of the helmet.
