Anybody see that noncall on a hold by Colorado that prevented an empty netter? Minnesota got jobbed and the Avalanche scored to tie it.

I have absolutely no idea why Tazer was so far up the ice on that game winner last night. St. Louis was on the rush, and Toews is almost never that far out of the play. He really is the most underrated player in the league. Crosby fills up the stat sheet, but Toews does everything that a leader should. The stuff other guys might not be wiling to do if their captain and best player weren't doing it. Guy is a stud.

He was coming on after a late change. The puck was already shot when he was near center ice.

And thanks for the series recap from the Blues and Kings last year. Hope it plays out the same.

Yes, and the no-call offsides 10 seconds later. If I were the Wild, I'd be very upset.

I'm glad you were wrong about the 2-1 final game prediction.

Hahaha, much easier on the heart rate?

I woke up kinda feeling like they would run them out of the building, however, they looked dead in the water in the second period. Not that St. Louis took advantage, but they looked like they had dead legs... Corey Crawford bailed them out. I really think a lot of fans here need to shut the hell up about him already. The guy gets no love. He's really good. Better than most people, including experts think.

I think Minnesota has exposed some vulnerabilities on defense for Colorado. I'm going to assume Colorado finishes this off in one of the next two, and if that's the case, I cannot wait for this series to get going. The Avs may be the next version of the Blackhawks. They aren't quite as deep or as good on the blue line yet, but firepower, they are right there.

I really haven't enjoyed much of Philly/NYR at all. Seems really predictable. The Rangers are kind of a boring team. Philly is good but I don't think anyone takes them seriously as a cup contender...

I do think CBJ pushes Pittsburgh to 7 though. I think Dallas pushes it to 7 tonight as well.

I'm pulling for the Jackets, Wild and Kings tonight but I think two of those teams are playing golf tomorrow morning. I think LA is the only team that wins tonight, hope I'm wrong.

I think if you're a Blackhawk fan, you feel a lot better about your chances at getting back to the finals right now, than you did at any point last week, or in the weeks leading up to the end of the season. Anaheim and San Jose are having goaltending problems, and Colorado looks good, but beatable. Meanwhile the Hawks are playing well, they're healthy, and they have zero goaltending issues. That's how I feel anyway.

For the record, I still don't see anyone being able to beat Boston this year. They just have that look.

They sure do. They are playing like a well oiled machine with a shutdown goaltender.

There's just no real weakness to their team. The only thing you can really say is that they don't have a top tier points/goals guy. With their system, who cares?

There are a few guys on that team I can't stand, I can't stand Boston sports mostly because they win and the fans are snotty, this team tends to dive too much, but aside from that, I love that kind of hockey. They make life miserable for teams that get sloppy in their defensive zone.

I do expect a hell of a series with Montreal. I don't think that is going to be a 4 game sweep or anything. Montreal matches up quite well, and if you ask me, right now Carey Price is the best goalie in the league.

I love the budding CBJ fandom on here. You're welcome on the bandwagon

And another Ohio team builds a rivalry with a team from Pittsburgh. The only redeeming aspect of the city lies nestled in the hills of West Mifflin, PA. Kennywood!

I will give credit to The CBJs for battling. Will be interesting to see what they do in the off season. They are scrappy but just don't have the firepower, yet.

But go home, and GO PENS!!!

Its been my complaint about The Pens for a few years now that they try to turn it on and off. They are so talented that sometimes they act like they don't have to work for it, and it bites them on the azz sometimes against a bunch of grinders like The Jackets.

They had a nice year, a lot to build on going forward. I just hope they don't get suckered into throwing a ton of money at FA's that don't deserve it. I really think they should minimize that and just really stick with this young group. They can definitely get better.

Unbelievable about this SJ/LA series. It got really ugly in the last 5 minutes last night. The Kings were basically laughing in their face as if they know they're going to win on Wednesday. Just wow, to let the series slip like this. Even if they win, they've gotta be worried going forward. Their goalie situation is a complete mess, their stars aren't scoring. I regret picking them to make the final, even if they do sneak out of this series.

Only piece we really lack comes on the scoring end. But, it seems John Davidson likes to build a team following the Boston Bruins method. I'd like to invest more into the blue line and maybe one more top 6 forward.

The Blackhawks prove that it's a nice thing to have scorers. But the Bruins prove you don't necessarily need it. None of those guys are at the level of Crosby or Ovechkin.

Even with the Hawks and their scoring. It gets spread around. Everybody plays defense.

3 Game 7's tonight...

Anyone wanna take any guesses?

I think Philly and New York can go either way. Philly stands a better chance since they played last night and Lundqvist was yanked... If Steve Mason plays like he did last night, I think Philly rolls.

I've got the Avs winning at home, much to the dismay of Blackhawk fans. The hockey fan in me would be drooling at the thought of that series.

I think LA finishes the job. San Jose is just not trustworthy right now. This would also mean that my bracket would go up in flames in the first round just like my ncaa bracket.

I know, I'm incredibly excited (I just need to get through this crappy day at work).

Let me see, I predicted Philly was coming out of the East and since they came back from 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2 to force a game 7, I'm sticking with Philly. (3-2)

I've got the Avs over the Wild. As much as I'd prefer the Wild for my Hawks, I think the Avs blow out the Wild tonight. (5-2)

I think the Kings have already won game 7 to be honest. The Sharks are dead in the water. It'll be a close game late in the 2nd period, but the Kings will slowly walk away from them in the 3rd. (4-1)

First goal in SJ is big tonight. If LA gets up, I think it will get ugly in that building. J-Quick is not the type of goalie you want to play against when you are chasing.

Wow, nothing better than a game 7 OT winner. Crazy finish.

So far I'm 0-2 on my predictions. Looks like I'm on pace to be right with the Kings (if they can get an empty netter).

My Predictions:
1 ANA/DAL 4 ANA in 5
2 SJ/LA 3 LA in 6

1 COL/MIN 4 COL in 4
2 STL/CHI 3 CHI in 7

1 BOS/DET 4 BOS in 5
2 TB/MON 3 MON in 6

1 PIT/CBJ 4 PIT in 5
2 NYR/PHI 3 PHI in 6

ANA in 6
LA in 7
MIN in 7
CHI in 6

BOS in 5
MON in 4
PIT in 6
NYR in 6

I only got one series winner and the games, BOS in 5. But I did pick 6 of 8 winners overall. I'll take it, even with my East favorite losing.

Oh well. I'll wait until tomorrow to pick the 2nd round.

That Avs/Wild finish was crazy last night. Hawks gotta be thrilled to be able to start the next round at home... Minnesota is better than they were last year, but I don't think they're beating the Hawks.

The Sharks really took it last night from the NBCS studio team. They got shelled for proving once again that they don't have a spine. This team is a bunch of chokers and it starts with their captain, who seems to no-show the minute things get tough.

And wow, Jonathan Quick is on a another planet. If the Hawks cannot make the finals, I hope it's LA/Montreal and we get a repeat of the US/Canada game, two best goalies in the world (1-0)

LOL

Disappointing to see the Avs lose, but it's a young team that did a lot better than expected this year. That was a real back and forth series, and Game 7 was no different.

His issue is that he's a pompous ass.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

They also replaced their GM during the year, so I think his fate was sealed then. I don't really think the Canucks problems were really his fault. He inherited a team that thinks they're better than they really are.

I really wonder if that thing gets blown up. If you're a CBJ fan, I'd consider trying to maybe land Ryan Kesler (OSU ties). Good player, good defender, I think he'd be a good fit on that team.

The Montreal Canadians are playing a unique style, at least to the playoffs, as best as I can tell. I'll describe it as a zone, a slow zone covering a large area of the ice. IF They could win the Cup, this year with this style, It would be nice and it would be a plus for the game of hockey itself.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I heard the Panthers are looking at Trotz and figure Vancouver also will get into the mix.

Kessler would be a nice addition to the Jackets!

It's going to be weird watching a Predator's game without Trotz behind the bench.

The system works because Carey Price is elite. They actually took Boston's game and threw it back at them. I hope that thing goes 7, because game 1 was so much fun to watch. Montreal is a bad matchup for Boston.

He's done so much for that organization. I understand the change. Sometimes a new voice can do you some good, but the job he did for all those years is very commendable. Tough gig for an expansion team. I wish the Browns were able to pull that off. Have a guy stick around that long only to set it up nicely for the next guy. Barry Trotz will have his choice of openings. I've always been a fan.
