I am honestly speechless watching Tristan Thompson play. This is not the guy we drafted at #4 overall a few years ago. Hes draining long mid range shots with his other hand and its not even touching the rim. Hes beating KG off the dribble taking it to the hoop. Like, honestly, how the hell is this possible?

Cavaliers up 6 with 5.9 seconds left!

Let's go Cavs!

Man, they played better defense tonight than they did all year last year!

Andy with some clutch shots there at the end!

Nice win, but it seemed like we were living on the edge a bit . Lots of broken plays with shots that just went in. Other than that backdoor pass to Andy, most of the last minute shots just seemed like desperation heaves that went in. Meanwhile, the Celtics ... err Nets, were just clanking open looks.

Won't complain about the win though! Undefeated!

Great win!

Thompson played great. Waiters too.

Tons of Browns in the stands tonight. Haslem, his wife, and his lawyer too!

Considering he hasn't played in a year, Bynum looked damn good out there tonight.

He played 8 minutes, scored 3 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, had 2 assists, 2 blocked shots, and was a presence in the middle. He only hit 1 of 5 shots, but considering what he's been through coming back, it was nice to see him play as completely as he did.

Thompson had 9 boards tonight, Andy had 8, Irving had 7, (!) and Clark had 8 leading the Cavaliers, who finished with 48 boards. The Nets had only 37 total rebounds. Nice to see us win the battle of the boards.

We still have the 2nd youngest youngest team in the NBA too. We're going to get better from here.

The Bennett pick looks to be a waste to me. He's just not very good. I know it was a very weak draft, but with the way tristan has played and our depth at the 4/5, seems like we could have picked up a SF or a true center as a project. Kyrie looks to be lost right now, Brown has admitted he hasn't even installed the offense yet. I'm impressed with how gritty they are already. Bynum is going to be a great pickup..He repeatedly turned Lopez's water off after Lopez just used Andy. Bynum looks like an adult at a playground out there...never realized he was that big, and he looks to be in much better shape. I love the Jack pickup, I liked the CJ signing last year, and I like it even more this year. And when you add karesev into the mix, we have some pretty good shooters

I think that the Bennet pick will be a solid one. He's still getting himself back into playing shape, but he showed a really solid shooting touch in the preseason games. he has to work his way back to having his legs 100% under him (as does Bynum) but he also has to get that shoulder and upper body back to 100%.

I am willing to give Grant the benefit of the doubt on this one. He's done really well for this team so far.

Speaking of making guys look like little kids ..... how about Klay Thompson? 27 in the 1st half of the Warriors game against the Lakers.10-12 from the court and 2-2 from the line. Not too bad.

jc,

Kyrie had one of those crappy LeBron games. You're thinking he just doesn't have it tonight, then look up and he's got 15-9-7.

People said the same thing about TT.

He needs time, and the good thing is, he's just a rotation guy right now. He should be motivated because he has to earn his time on the court.

Speaking of Tristan Thompson, I was really impressed with his game yesterday. You can tell he put the extra work in.

Heck of a job by the Cavs to keep that Bynum thing under wraps. There were whispers of him possibly playing during the day, but I really thought they were just jerking us around until he stepped on the floor.

Heard someone say he was a +8 in his short time on the floor. He definitely gave the team a lift. I hope he continues to progress.

I really hope the league fines Jason Terry for that ridiculous flop late in the game, c'mon man.

Not even way too early to say anything about Bennett, but INSANELY too early to say anything. Its his first NBA game after missing an entire offseason of conditioning and preparation. You're not even going to scratch what he may be until the All-Star break, if then.

One thing that I was stunned with? Kyrie played only 31 minutes. If the addition of Jarrett Jack and the improvement (through preseason and one game) of CJ Miles can keep him in that 30-34 minute range, it will be huge for his health and this team.

He only played 31 minutes because he was yanked early for getting 2 quick fouls.

I don't think he played a very good game yesterday. Says a lot about this team that they won against a veteran group with their best player not at his best.

Nets are gonna be scary if they get consistency out of Blatche and Terry. The starting 5 in theory should compliment each other perfectly. Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce and KG are A+ role players. They just need Williams and Lopez to grow.

Anthony Bennett needs to hop his chubby azz on a treadmill. Also, we need someone to tell him he's built like a truck and to stop hoisting 25 footers.

Maybe you don't already know, there is a reason why he's a tad overweight right now. I do agree with the 5 footers. It's like he thinks he's Carmello.

I think that I'm glad that I missed the game.

Tristan showed up, but Andy had 2 points? Earl Clark had nothing?

Irving played the 4th like he was allergic to the hoop, and Waiters had 2 points in the whole game? Miles showed up too .... but man, it looks like way too many guys slept through this one.

It looks like the defense was only partially there, and the offense went missing completely.

That was one of Kyries worst games as a pro that I've seen. I get that he's trying to round his game out and be a better distributor. However if he's not going to be a scorer, he NEEDS TO DEFEND THE OTHER GUY.

Dion was a no show. Earl Clark and Andy sucked too. I love Andy, but he's just goinÌ to keep breaking down.

Tristan had a hell of a game but had a really bad turnover late. They were in position to take that game but for whatever reason, took the ball out of KI's hands.

I've watched both games, and I just don't see a place for Dion. I like Jack off the bench but should those 2 trade roles?

I still see a lot of potential with this team though. They need to grow, but I still think we'll be ok.

Cavs were up big on the Twolves and then let them get back into it. Managed to squeak out a one point win though. Bennett had another rough night. Hopefully we can see some more consistency though from everyone.

Those are the games they lost last year though. They are still learning the system, and still adjusting to a new coaching staff.

4 games and we haven't given up 100 yet. Last year we started out 2-2 as well, but we gave up 101, 105, and 115 in those games. I think that we will be a much improved defensive team, and that will pay off down the road.

If Andrew Bynum can stay healthy and continue to get into game shape, he will be a "HUGE" factor this season. Even though he hasn't played in a year and a half, teams are still double teaming him and giving him tons of respect. If I'm not mistaken he is averaging close to 2 blocks a game and once he gets his basketball feet under him, he will not be missing these point blank shots that he has missed recently.

this may come off as being a Buckeye-homer, but I'd really look into what Philly might want for Evan Turner this year. He has a style that can be played at SF for stretches and I love his feistiness on both ends.

I wonder how Philly values him going forward and what we might be able to offer them to make it worth their while. Sure would have helped to have Bennett start better as a potential asset. Oh well.

I think bennett will end up out of the league in under 5 years. He's undersized, weak and can't create his shot at this level.. VERY disappointing for a #1 overall.. I think grant blew this pick. I'm willing to give Brown a chance with him, but he looks worse than any first overall I've ever seen. I mean to not score in your first 5 games getting decent playing time..i mean at worst you should be able to get a put back or something.

I think you gotta give it time before you decide either way. I mean it's been 4 games, and he's only averaging, what 10-12 minutes a night?

People overreacted to Thompson at first too. I'm not saying Bennett is going to be ROY, because I have nothing to look at right now, but don't you think you're knee jerk reacting a little bit?

I think that Bennett is likely to develop into a quality 6th man type of player. He has a great, natural shot, even though that shot hasn't shown up yet. I don't think that he's back into game shape yet, and I definitely don't think that he has his legs under him yet. Until that happens, he's going to struggle with his shot.

normally i would say yes, but man I watch ALOT of basketball, as well as play. I never saw thompson this bad...he had his offensive limitations for sure. But you can tell there was some skill there, just needed to be coached. I just watch bennett and don't see anything that makes me think there's something there. But you're right, it is way too early to decide one way or another. I think the issue is, we have better players at his position right now, so its going to be hard for him to get the kind of minutes/coaching he needs. I'd be all for sending him down to dleague for half a season to get some reps/minutes and get back into game shape.

Thompson led the league in having his shot blocked the most to having a jumpshot. I'll give Bennett time, but he needs to lose weight.

if he's going to play the 3 which it seems what they want him to do, he def. needs to lose weight and get more explosive. Thats part of the problem though, he doesn't have the skillset of a 3 and he's too small to be a legit 4 in the nba..

If heard he was a bit of a tweener at the time we drafted him. The thoughts that I heard around the draft were that they could get him to lose weight and have him play the 3. But with the injury, he put on weight instead and isn't yet in playing shape. So first he's got to get back into playing shape (which is why he looks so horrible right now), and then he's got to get into positional shape to pick up a role as a SF.

I heard both Grant and Brown flat out say he's a PF.

Who really knows though, we are so thin and bad at SF that if they think he can get in there, he will get a chance.

Didn't mean to imply that the Cavs Front Office had plans for him to do that, but talking heads/bloggers were saying that might be the best option for him. Looking back at the draft ... wow, what a weak draft. As bad as Bennett has been, he's still got more points and rebounds than a few of the top picks have right now. (granted a few are injured)

Sure, you have to give him time, but he does look flabby and basketball is a sport where good players make an impact day one.

This isn't looking good at all.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
