which makes it worse because this team should be ALOT better than the 10-11 cavs with what we have invested...that team was put together to be a lottery team...this team is playing like one.

I'm willing to give him a little more time before throwing him overboard. The defense is coming along .... and that's why he's here.

The coaches are still trying to figure out exactly what they have, and who fits best with who. I'm willing to give him time to accomplish that.

Fire the guy already. Who loses 2 game against the bobcats in a 2 week time frame? We also lost to the bucks and philly. No excuse losing to teams like that. We look as bad on offense post Lebron in 2010. What in the world were Grant and Gilbert thinking bringing back this guy? I would be giving Karl, and Lionel Hollins a call before too long. Never thought it would be this bad, this is a worst case scenario.

Charlotte is 5-4 on the young season. (5th in the East at this time) It's not like they are winless against the rest of the league in this over-reactive young season.

The Bobcats have beaten the Knicks, the Raptors, and the Celtics as well. We're not a finished product yet. Man, give the guy a chance to get his system in place and functional. Give him a chance to figure out his rotations. It's not like he took over a 60 win team. We won 24 games last year. It takes time to get that ship turned around, especially when installing a completely new system.

I don't want to waste the year just so his system could get into place. All Gilbert talked about in the offseason was making the playoffs. Those were my expectations. I thought we had a chance to win 45 games and get the 5th seed. Vegas had our win total at 41, so it wasn't unrealistic.

I don't know how much time you could give him before you say enough is enough. The transition has been rough, and it will be interesting to see if Brown could get these guys to buy in. If he can't, he will have to be fired, or Grant will have to make major changes to the roster. Time will tell.

I'm not saying the whole season.

Man, it's been 10 games. The defense, except for one really bad game, has been significantly improved. The offense, obviously, is not there yet.

This team made significant changes this off-season.

We added:

Jarrett Jack
Andrew Bynum
Earl Clark
Anthony Bennett
Matthew Dellavadova
Sergey Karasev
Henry Sims
Carrick Felix

In addition, we got Andy back from season long injury last year, and had
Tyler Zeller miss most of the preseason with injury and appendicitis. Felix missed much of the preseason, as did Bynum. Karasev missed time in the preseason with an injury. Bennett is trying to get back in game shape after missing significant time with a shoulder injury.

Out of 15 players on the roster, 8 weren't here last year. (that's over half) 3 are rookies, and all of the rookies missed time in the preseason because of injuries. Bynum isn't back to 50% yet, and he missed the last 2 games (IIRC) with a family emergency. Irving had his nose broken, and Waiters missed tonight's game with injury.

This is not to make excuses, but man, it's hard to install your system 100% when guys aren't on the court. The team really lacks a "fall back", because many of them have not played together in the past. They can't say "remember when we ...." because they haven't.

It is going to take time. I think that we will be much improved, but it's not going to happen in a week or 2. Some of our guys are, essentially, still going through preseason. They have to catch up. Once again, this team won 24 games last year. Changes had to occur, and they did. Change takes time. Change a good team and it will take time for them to adapt. This is a very young team, and it will take time for things to get to 100%. (or even 70-80%)

Don't kid yourself. The defense has sucked. It just hasn't sucked quite as badly as it did in the past few years.

Wondering if we should start Matthew Dellavedova at SG with Kyrie at PG. Have Dion and Jarrett come off the bench.

man, I don't see how Mike Brown make this team look 10x worse than at anytime with scott as coach, even with more talent. Sorry I just can't buy into the whole "getting his system in place" Mike Brown don't have a system, thats the problem. Every player that was here last year has regressed. We run more complicated offensive sets in our rec league. I'd love for them to turn the corner, but they aren't even showing glimpses of competency. Going to be a long year I'm afraid. He needs to pick a damn rotation and stick with it for 10-15 games and see if they gel..this new rotation every night isn't good for anyone

Karl has never won anything in the league, and gets bounced in the 1st rd quite often, but he would be a huge upgrade over brown. We would score in the 100's, win about 50-55 games a year, and get to the playoffs every year. I'm not saying he's the guy to lead us to a championship, but he would get us headed in that direction. With Mike, we're sniffing the lottery once again. Plus the product is awful. Not sure what Gilbert is thinking.

I like Mike Brown but even right now I would take George Karl.

Let me rephrase that. I liked Mike the first time around, I still don't understand the hire the second time around.

I know the roster isn't exactly perfect, but George Karl, and probably a few other guys could be doing a better job.

Today's fun fact via Colin Cowherd ....

Anthony Bennett is shooting 7% from 3 point range.

Oklahoma City Thunder fans are shooting 3% from halfcourt.

Wow, that really sucks for him and the Bulls. It's almost hard o believe that he was largely injury free for 3 seasons.

The Cavs had an ugly night. Geesh ... they had a 10+ point lead with 4 minutes left, then forgot how to play defense. Kyrie forgot that he had teammates, and another bad loss was the result.

Can't say I've seen any games, but I've watched the numbers compile (from Ellis) on my money league team and yes, he's been amazing.

Thats typical regarding the Spurs. Nobody talks about them all season, then the playoffs get here and they are one or two seed and everyone goes "Oh yeah, they're always really good".

Some rumors out there that bulls might be looking to unload some contracts now that rose is hurt yet again..i wouldn't mind seeing what it would take to pry Deng away.

It's too bad they don't have any outside shooting...

I'm not sure they'd deal with us anyway.

I really feel like we need a sniper on the outside, especially if we are going to run the offense that we are running. You need a 3 point threat.

What about Barnes, he's on the bench now that they have Iggy, he's shooting something stupid like 60% from 3

They'd want our draft pick for this year considering that right now it looks like a lotto pick (that is still subject to change if you ask me). I wouldn't do it.

I don't think they'd want Waiters either. Not a good pairing for Curry.

Barnes is a better starter than waiters, but waiters would be a better 6th man for them i think. And barnes would thrive next to a PG like kyrie. I think waiters and a second might do it

I think karasev could develop into that sharp shooter role, but he needs to add some weight to get through picks and screens to get open...he gets lost alot. But he has the smoothest stroke on the team

yeah, that's the problem though, we can't really wait on the guy to develop, or at least depend on only him. They need to find outside shooting.

If you're going to run a lot of drive and kick offense which is what they do a lot of in key situations, you need outside shooting. I know that's not what they want to do, but it just seems like it ends up Kyrie dribbling around looking to make some kind of play. He'd be lethal if he had shooting around him.

Cavs shopping Dion Waiters
Updated: November 27, 2013, 4:29 PM ET
By Chris Broussard | ESPN The Magazine

The Cleveland Cavaliers are actively shopping second-year shooting guard Dion Waiters, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Three teams the Cavaliers are known to have spoken with are the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers, the sources said. The Cavs' targets are Iman Shumpert in New York, Evan Turner in Philadelphia and Luol Deng in Chicago, sources said.

It is believed Cleveland has reached out to other clubs as well.

Waiters, whom the Cavaliers drafted with the No. 4 pick in 2012, has a contentious relationship with several teammates, including star point guard Kyrie Irving, and sources say he is open to being traded. In fact, though Waiters has not demanded a trade, he brought up the subject in a three-hour meeting last week with coach Mike Brown and general manager Chris Grant, according to sources.

The Cavaliers are looking to shake things up after a 4-10 start. Part of their problem has been the dysfunction in their locker room. Waiters, a 6-foot-4 guard, got into an altercation with forward Tristan Thompson during a players-only meeting after a 29-point loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Nov. 13, sources said.

Sources described the following account:

Irving called the meeting after the game and every player spoke. When Waiters was given the floor, he criticized Thompson and Irving, accusing them of playing "buddy ball'' and often refusing to pass to him. Thompson took umbrage with Waiters' words and went back at him verbally. The two confronted each other but teammates intervened before it could escalate into a fight.

However, Waiters and Irving are not close. Waiters believes the Cavaliers have a double standard when it comes to Irving, sources said. Waiters feels that while Irving is allowed to get away with loafing defensively, making turnovers and taking bad shots, he is taken out of games for such things. Waiters has shared his views with Brown and Grant.

Waiters is slumping after a promising rookie season -- both his scoring and shooting percentage are down.
