Me too. He did good. As long as he doesn't try to run. That scares me.

Big Ten is insanely God awful. Maybe these coaches should listen to Urban Meyer and recruit better. A huge problem is QB play. It says something when the two best QBs are Miller and Gardner. A lot of these teams need an identity change. There's a reason they are losing.

UCF V. Baylor has been the sloppiest bowl game and both quarterbacks have been shaky (Especially on deep throws)

Boone is a redshirt Junior. Haven't hard anything about him coming out or staying but man he sure looks good tonight doesn't he. Of course the A&M defense if pretty putrid.
One thing that would worry me is that this is his 1st year as the starter. But he is big and strong and looks smart and accurate.
I thought Duke's QB last year looked pretty good (Renfree taken in the 7th and currently on the Falcons roster)... If you look at the better defenses that Boone played.. Florida State 20-40 for 138 yards and 2 INTs... VaTech 7-24 (no that isn't a typo) for 107 yards and 4 INTs....

While he hasn't been great on the deep balls, there have been a lot of blatant PI by Baylor to save themselves from getting burned. This last drive he reminded me of Big Ben. He had defenders all over him but stayed up, shook them off, and passed it to a wide open WR. They are also running him a lot today, something that he normally doesn't do a lot of.

What really impresses me about Blake besides physical tools, is that he never gets rattled. He is one calm dude. Even after he through his INTs he had the same demeanor.

He's not going to light it up immediately like some of these other guys, I think he may need a bit of time, but the end product could be really good.
I think he could benefit in our situation to having Hoyer start the year, and as things go, we could ease him into the starting role instead of just tossing him out there week 1.
We just don't know how fast he can process an NFL game. That's the big question. He's big and strong, and he's a heck of an athlete, but I really hope the Browns do their job and grill the hell out of him. Physically, I think he would be fine, it's the other stuff that we can't see with our eyes.

Winning cures everything. You don't want fans to boo you? Then stop sucking.
If Johnny Manziel comes here and looks like Colt McCoy 2.0 then fans will be upset and boo. If he looks like Russel Wilson 2.0 and takes us to the playoffs then fans will cheer. It's a pretty simple formula.

We're gonna have to win in a shootot with Clemson. Our defense can't stop anybody.

No Spence and I heard Roby isn't playing either. I think we might lose the shootout.

Bortles missed a few deep passes in the 1st half by a ton (not due to D-PI). In the 2nd half, he settled down and was on the money with most throws while Petty never did seem to settle down.
Purely on bowl games, Bortles looked like the 2nd best QB thus far. The best? actually Connor Shaw (great deep ball touch, good mobility, even caught a TD too). of course, that is why it's so dangerous to go by a 1 game sample size. Shaw has struggled mightily at times. He did pique my interest as a later round QB3 gamble though.
Overall, I'd still have Bortles just behind Bridgewater. But, I'm not sure we'll have a chance to get either.

Bortles had some moments and I like his size and athleticism.. but I would say it's Bridgewater, Manziel, Shaw, Bortles going just by bowl games... (I have not seen every bowl game though) for example I didn't see much of UCLA and Hundley must have looked really good.

Shaw is kind of an enigma to me. He seems to be doing everything right, creating touchdowns, but he looks so weird doing it. I don't know something just weird about the guy I could never really latch onto him but he always seemed to get the job done.

Ok, son wants to be... he wants me to take Bama and give him 14, take Clemson and get 7, take Auburn and get 10... it's all just for fun.

If either defense gets a three-and-out ... that might win the game.
