With our luck they would have gone out and got high together after a win, and we'd be down to nothing.

Would have been but if we draft Blackmon, I seriously doubt we use a future 2nd on Gordon.. it was one or the other.

I do like the idea of keeping Gordon and adding a guy like Blackmon in the offseason, however. Ok, screw that... just give me ANYONE as a #2 WR that can run routes, block in the run game, and reliably catch the ball.

I can't imagine Maclin actually being available ..... but I could see us/Banner going hard after him if he were to become a free agent.
I would also look at any former/free agent Chargers, Panthers, or Eagles who would be available.

Maclin tore his ACL in the off-season. It will be interesting to see how the Eagles deal with him as he will become a free agent.

Well, Blackmon is suspended indefinitely and Gordon might end up going the same route. I'd say that thank God we didn't go that way.

i'm glad as well. but right now, gordon HASN'T gone that route, and based purely off of production, we have gotten WAY more out of gordon. definitely the better pick.

I think someone already said this, but I'm pretty sure that, had we grabbed Blackmon, we wouldn't have looked at Gordon. I think it's a reasonable assumption that the situations were Blackmon OR Gordon, and never Blackmon AND Gordon. Not when you're spending pick(s) to get your fQB.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

After the trade was made with the Redskins n no RG3 I thought maybe it was time to invest in Blackmon a WR n I never do that. But I thought he would have a great career. I had no knowledge of his drug problems. And the premise of this thread sort of saying we made a big mistake - at least we got a 2014 First round pick even though it will be a late one...better than a 1st round pick suspended indefinitely. So it actually turned out in our favor once.
Weeden, Heckert had his slotted for our 2nd rounder...the steal was Wilson. I know there was a dog or 2 not much more who pimped him...of course they were correct. Hind sight is nice to have.
I've learned several things about Weeden in college. He was so so the wrong choice but I think his football intelligence was just over rated. Knowing n doing just couldn't put it together.
JMHO...ce la vie most important...getting it right next season.
Johnny Manziel no move up.
