Think they just hit a dry spell. Big 10 is the best conference. Wisconsin lost 5 games in a short burst. some winnable games coming up. Michigan game is huge.
I am pretty happy with what Billy D is doing with the Gators. Easily holding teams under 60 points most nights....even under 50....I think we have a good shot......but, I'd rather have Noah, Horford, Humphry, Green, and Brewer....but, that is a once...well....twice dream line-up. One of the best college teams ever.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

OSU might be a better tourney team that regular season team.
Another quality win for the Bearcats tonight, sorry that it came at the expense of your boys PeteyDangerous.
Hopefully UConn can get back on that roll though, I'm rooting for the American to end up with more top 25 teams than the new Big East by selection Sunday.

Cincy is a quality team. We both got screwed in that conference realignment, but I think it will work out okay for us.
I'm pissed because I missed the game. I looked real quick tonight to see when it was and I saw that I missed it.
Oh well, Northwestern Univ. Saturday Night, huge game against Nebraska. That team's fun to watch.
I was really expecting UConn to be awesome this season, but some players really let me down. That and we're having trouble recruiting talented big men, period. I keep seeing us getting talented guards, but that's not UConn basketball to me. I'm used to the big centers and power forwards that helped us lead the NCAA in blocks for an unprecedented amount of seasons. That era is gone with Jim Calhoun. Kevin Ollie was a guard in the NBA (backup for an unordinary amount of seasons for a backup, which means you're doing something right.......) and so I'm guessing a lot of guards want to be tutored by him.
I like Kevin Ollie, but I'm beginning to accept that he's not the HOF coach Calhoun is. Doesn't mean UConn won't be a very good team, but I can't expect the success that I was so used to getting with Jim Calhoun as coach.
But it's good to see Cincy successful this season. I'm hoping that we can get a real rivalry going between our teams. The two that were ignored by the ACC and Big 10
Unless the wheels come falling off, both are in easily. Beating Wisconsin and Iowa on the road, are 2 great wins for the resume. I think Lunardi had Osu a 5th, and Kentucky a 4th, which seems about right.
Nice red herring, but if you've read my posts I've said OSU is in danger of missing the tourney. I've been consistent with that. We still need to win against two quality teams to be a lock. The SEC is a LOT weaker than the Big Ten in basketball.
They are playing really well. I don't get any sense they are in danger of missing the tourney. They are 19-5, 17th in the RPI, and 12th strength of schedule. Plus the big 10 is considered the best conference. Even if they only beat 1 of those teams, and win the rest, that would put them at 24-7, which is probably a lock as you could get.

Same here, I think it is starting to turn into a pretty good one since the Bearcats have finally been able to get a couple wins in the series over the last few years.
Getting throttled by SMU right now, they look awful tonight. No energy on either end of the floor.
Not taking anything away from SMU, they have been pretty good lately themselves with wins over Memphis and UConn. So this loss isn't really as bad as it's going to look nationally.
Edit - and I do like Ollie a lot, you have a fine coach there.
Amazing job done by Larry Brown. I've been watching the game since the late 80's, and can't remember Smu ever being good, or playing in the tournament. One of the best coaches of all time.
-12 on the boards -15 with the 3 ball. We actually shot it better, but they hit the shots when it counted.
I would be thrilled with matta if he got us to the sweet 16. They were begging craft to shoot it. He shot that one air ball at the end, I knew it was over at that point. We need help from Thompson or Loving. Ross and Smith are the only options right now. You know we're not getting much from craft or scott.
I think Matta wants to believe Craft and Scott can be like Conley and Butler. There's a lot wrong with that. Jamar Butler was a phenomenal shooter for us.
I love Craft, but his lack of athletcisim has reared its ugly head this year. There is no excuse for his lack of transition offense. He slows it down every damn time. He makes scoring harder than it has to be. He just needs to go. Hopefully guys actually hit the weights next year too. I feel like our guys lack strength badly. If you want fast guy then play more run and gun. If you want to play half court then get stronger. Also if you wanna play in the half court, get ADV more minutes for spacing purposes. Shannon wants to run, Sam wants to run and Laquinton wants to run. Lenzelle wants to run sometimes as well. However when your point guard doesn't, what's the point of those other guys hustling?
Next year will be better fellas. We will (hopefully) have 4 seniors starting and guys coming in that can score like D'Angelo Russell.
My daughter - due to her mother - is a Michigan fan. We made a bet last night, and since it's my 13 year old daughter it couldn't be financial.
So, the bet was "if MY team - OSU - wins, she'll go to bed 1/2 hour earlier 'tomorrow night' (tonight). If Michigan wins, she can stay up 1/2 later than normal.
Last night, we both were asleep way before the game got over. I guess she gets to stay up later tonight.....
Quote: How about Wichita State huh? Cleanthony Early needs more hype as an NBA prospect.
I just want the regular season to end so OSU can get to the tourney.
Just saw an interview with Greg Marshall and he's EXACTLY the type of coach I'd want. He just said he recruits athletic kids that can create their own shot. He said that you can coach defense and other things. I know some coaches say they want tough blue collar kids, but that doesn't get you very far. You need players that can do the uncoachable incredible things and have faith in your abilities to fix everything else.
Gators just have some solid guys back or ready to go...It's a crapshoot, but I like our odds.....as good a bet as any. A solid win over a much improved Tennessee last night.

Next year is our title contender fellas. That is regardless of if Laquinton Ross stays or not. I just hope he learns from Deshaun Thomas idiotic decision. So just try and enjoy seeing the last few months of Craft.
Please get here soon D'Angelo Russell. He can shoot, handle and pass. He's such a good ball-handler and playmaker. He'll be able to play pick and roll. He's 3 ball heavy, but he also has a very good mid-range game with pull ups and floaters. He needs to add body strength to finish better, but he does have phenomenal footwork with all the different types of eurosteps. I'm a little worried with his defense lacking if Matta will let him play because of it. Next year will be the fastest team Matta has ever had.
Didn't realize how well North Dakota State is doing. They actually look like a good win for OSU. Wyoming beating San Diego State is good. Beat Minnesota and Sparty and we're a lock regardless of what happens in the Big Ten tourney.
Delaware is a good win as well. They are 19-7, and havn't lost in conference play. Marquette is playing better of late. Still think they will be a 3-6 seed depending if they beat teams like Michigan State, or one of the better teams in the big 10 tourney. Only bad lost is Penn State (104 in the rpi)
my biggest concern in the tourney is running into a good shooting team, that is having a great night, and not being able to keep up. But our 3 pt defense has been fantastic all year.
That's the story of his career. If he had ANY fire we'd be a force in the tourney. Seriously, he's 7'0 and 250 of pure muscle. He can move really well for his size and jump. He can block shots which is something we've needed the past few years. He's not even that awful as a 1 on 1 defender. He's actually pretty good when focused. Wen he actually catches the ball he's powerful and impossible to stop from dunking.
He was the #2 ranked center in the 2011 class only behind.....
Quote: At home against Louisville and @Missouri are better wins than Tennessee.
We also don't have a loss that matches at home against Penn State or @Nebraska.
@Nebraska doesn't look so bad now. Louisville is what will help Kentucky make the tourney. That is their ONLY saving grace right now. Tennessee is trash and Missouri is average.
