I don't ever want to hear about SEC media bias on ESPN and other networks.
SEC football deserves everything that they get. If there was a bias for the conference the SEC would not be a 3 team conference in the NCAA tournament. And Kentucky who beat the Big East and American conference Champion and lose by 1 today to the #1 over 1 seed today on a nuetral court is an 8 seed. Tennessee who beat Virginia who is a 1 seed is an 11 in a play in game.
If the conference had media bias there would be bias all the way around.
I agree. The bias is because the SEC is pretty darn good in all sports.
Why wouldn't Florida have a damn good swinning team?

So angry We suck against a 2-3 zone and we get to possibly face Syracuse in the 2nd round

I think the bias occurs mainly because SEC and ESPN have a tv deal. I'm not sure why people don't see why that can influence ESPN.

Ross is going to have to come up huge. He will be like Thomas in the middle shooting the mid range shot. But we're going to need Smith Jr, or Thompson to come up huge. Regardless of Syracuse, Ross is going to need help, if we want to win a few games.

We can beat them if these 3 things happen-
1. Ross exploits the hole at the free throw line. That hole will always be there if the zone is executed properly. You're right about the DT comparison. DT would nuke zone defenses.
2. Amir Williams would need to play like a man. He would need to get rebounds and block shots.
3. We would need SOME not a LOT of 3's to go down. A 2-3 is an extremely flawed defense if it goes against shooters. It's why it would get destroyed in the NBA.

Looking at UVa's draw...Sparty is VERY difficult for them.
Also...to previous responses to me, I was talking for the 4th #1...I had AZ, Wichita St, and Florida as the other 3...
I think early (pre-filling out a bracket)...I got Louisville, Florida, Sparty, and AZ as final four teams...

All of this is moot. Dayton is going to destroy OSU.

STATE GOT IN!
NCST made it, and really has a favorable draw for their first two games. As good as Xavier and St Louis can be...neither team has a player that can really control TJ Warren or harass Tyler Lewis.
St Louis is a terrific defensive team...but their strengths don't lie in locking down a PG that's 5'11 with length...or harassment really which is where Lewis struggles...or having a guy to lock up a 6'8 scorer.
Then they get Louisville and that's the end of their run.
Wichita St, Florida, Michigan St, Oklahoma St. are my final four. Though I haven't taken the time to sit down and look at it...that OK State pick will prolly change.

I've got Sparty, Kansas, Louisville and Arizona in the final 4. Sparty will cut down the nets. They're definetly not impossible to beat, just ask Thad Matta. He almost swept them if Shannon Scott could convert a layup. It's just going to be a monumental task.

healthy Sparty is an amazing team and they are finally healthy again. not sure I'm going to have them win the whole thing though (as much as I respect Izzo).

All the Louisville love is funny to me. 20 of their 29 wins were against teams with an RPI 100+
Louisville in the Final Four? No way -- Especially not coming out of that bracket.

The fan in me says Kentucky comes out of that bracket.
Realistically, I think it's Duke, though.
By the way, the West bracket is a joke, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Oklahoma State came out of it.
Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Duke, Florida
Michigan State vs. Duke
Haven't decided who wins yet.

Yea I agree about the west. Arizona is way overrated. Upsets tend to happen when teams aren't good at shooting. that is arizona. great defensively, just has trouble shooting it. I actually like Wisconsin. this might be their best team in a long time.
I've always thought kansas would win it, it's hard to pick a team with one of their better players having back problems. Wichita State is great, I just don't see them winning that region. I know they are very good, but they havn't played many good teams all year. in fact not 1 top 25 win on their schedule.

I hate to admit this, but a big deciding factor for me is how much NBA talent a team has.

Looks like the only games I really wanted to see that I'll have to miss while I'm at work are Dayton vs. Ohio State and Harvard vs. Cincinnati
Thankfully Kentucky plays at night.

Here's a fun anti-Calipari fact for everyone.
In Calipari's first 3 years at Kentucky, he was 19-2 vs. teams ranked in the Top 25.
In the last 2 years, he is 3-9.

From the perspective of the guy who is filling out his bracket... I really hate that there are games today and tomorrow that will finish out the field. That gives you (not even) one day to see the completed field.
I like having a few days to evaluate. Typical NCAA though trying to make more money.

Just a heads up for those that may not have seen it in the Fantasy/Gaming forum. I've made a Dawgtalkers Bracket Challenge group on ESPN. Link Password: dawgtalkers It would be easier to recognize everybody if your bracket name had your name on here somewhere in it. I'm also a bit surprised SaintDawg hasn't posted anything about his blind draw that we usually do.

My first pass has NC State in the Sweet 16... I'll go back and look at it a couple more times before I have to turn it in though.. I think they did get a very favorable spot.

Over Louisville? Nah won't happen, I do have them beating St. Louis though.
Just call me a homer though. Cincinnati is in my final 4 along with Syracuse, Louisville and Arizona.

Honestly, the one of those that I would be most surprised with is Oklahoma State. All of the rest seem perfectly reasonable. I have the Shockers losing in the Final-4, but hey, they are definitely one of the teams that could win.

I hate when I have someone losing in the first round and other people having them going far. I feel like I want to burn my bracket.
Ugh, I love doing the brackets but I know nothing about these teams. I've watched probably a quarter of OSU games, and just a handful of Duke, Kentucky, MSU, Syracuse games.
It seems like Florida as chalk is a good pick though.
