He's a Safety from our PS ... and we waived an ILB ... it appears to me like we're loading up with Safeties and will insert them into the defense on 3rd and long situations to get the ILB's out of there ... maybe I'm wrong though

Did we ever replace Safety Aubrey who went on the IR???

Could be on the practice squad he's been going against Cameron a lot and has shown he can help in coverage...or we are just shoring up special teams.???

Who was the ILB we let go?

Yes we replaced him with Jordan Poyer who Chud said would play Safety for us ... and we released Magee (sp?)

He's a ILB/SS tweener apparently and Magee was on the injury report, so maybe we're just replacing a ST spot. I would not read too much into that, especially since he was on the PS for weeks and he didn't get promoted. I expect him to be released soon again, maybe as soon as Magee is healthy again or Lombardi sees another UDFA rook on some other team's PS he wants to bring in. Same as they did with CB Posey.

Not sure why we have 11 OL on the roster though and soon 12 when Pinkston comes back for probably IRing the GB WR who's name I already forgot

"and we released Magee"

I know it was pretty late so didn't put up the What I saw thread here.

But in the thread on the other board about the game. I stated that I would not be surprised if he was Fired...Magee.

He was the one who took a 15 yard penalty on ST by knocking a guy FROM BEHIND after the whistle out of bounds...following him and when he got up - shoved him again with the ref right there...only to have him Protest...WHAT WHAT DID I DO...I was like telling my TV...Dumb Ass!

Put up a list of 3 possible Firings..
1. Weeden...well in a way that happened
2. Carder for the Offside penalty on the successful On side kick but stated he is too much involved on almost all aspects of ST...he would be forgiven.
3. Magee.

Btw he was listed on the injured list but as of Friday was in Full Participation and noted as Probable.

I'm telling you it was a message for Stupid ME ME mistakes.

So now we are down to 3 ILB ..... have 6 OLB ..... and 5 S.

I do have to say ..... we sure are getting a look at a lot of players. The bottom of this roster has been shaken and stirred, and it's only week 8.

And I like it. I'll say Lombardi doesn't leave many stones unturned, and why not? As I have said for many years, you don't just build teams from the top down. You need to do it from the bottom up as well.

It's all about getting better.

Browns promote LB Darius Eubanks from practice squad

FS OHIO STAFF |

Published: Saturday, October 26, 2013, 1:07pm |

BEREA -- The Cleveland Browns on Saturday promoted LB Darius Eubanks from their practice squad to the active roster.

In addition, the club waived LB Brandon Magee.

Eubanks, a 6-2, 222-pound rookie from Georgia Southern, had spent the season's first seven-plus weeks on the Browns' practice squad, having signed Sept. 2. He initially entered the NFL as a non-drafted free agent, signed by Minnesota May 3, and spent the preseason with the Vikings before the club waived him Aug. 31. He will wear No. 50 with the Browns.

A four-year letterman at Georgia Southern, Eubanks started 51 of 52 career games. A first-team All-Southern Conference selection in 2012, he started 13 contests at safety and compiled 77 tackles.

The year before as a junior, he started all 14 games as a linebacker. Eubanks garnered Dean's list honors with a 3.57 GPA.

A product of Thomson (Ga.) High School, Eubanks on two occasions earned all-state recognition from the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Could this move have anything to do with some of our linebackers complete inability to drop into coverage...

Is this for depth? Or replacement if others are benched? Or any of this related to trade deadlines and rumors? We seem to have been acquiring more people from waivers and releasing folks. I can't imagine this FO not having a "plan B" in play. This week will be interesting, especially if we stripmine what talent we have for a crapshoot yet once again.

We should have an open roster spot now that Charles Johnson is able to be placed on IR. I am curious to see what we do.

We will add Jason Pinkston ...but since that'd make 12 OL on the roster we could also cut one (Gilkey? Cousins? Wallace? Lewis?) and add another PS guy at another position. If it's another WR, I hope we steal Cobi Hamilton off the Bengals one (he was their 6th rounder), they are deep at WR and a division rival...

Given the Benjamin is headed to IR, I know that we have to add another receiver from somewhere. (Probably Cooper from the PS) We have been thin at WR all year long, and we are super scary thin now. Maybe we bring Gurley back again? Who knows?

As you said, I think that we'll drop an OL when we bring Pinkston back.

Also, when can we put Charles Johnson onto the IR list? I can't remember which week we signed him. Has it been 3 weeks yet?

Go with Cooper. The kid gets open, runs good routes, and catches the ball. Is he small and slow..... yep but so was Brennen
