He has some major holes in his defense ... but he just can't see them.

Maybe Ytown should just start a 1st rounder bashing thread, staring Trent and Mingo...

With the way he's running, I don't see how a defense would be keying in on him and letting Luck, Brown or Hilton beat them. It's probably been the other way around, they're keying in on the other three and letting Trent beat them, and he can't.

I don't want to bash the guy because he was straight classy as he left. Most other guys, including guys that claimed to really like it here, haven't shied away from ripping the team or city after they're in a new zip code. So Trent gets credit there. And I hope he finds a way to turn it around.

I am actively rooting against the Colts to help our draft pick though.

I felt that this was something new and interesting.

Just curious but I thought Purp said there is no need to lock threads due to length anymore.

There was an existing thread for this topic still open. I merged this new thread into that thread. We don't always lock at 8 pages now, but if the topic gets totally off course, or deteriorates into a personal attacks, etc., we still reserve the right to close it up. That is why the first one was locked.

Shouldn't most of the threads be locked after page 2, then?

Wonder what Trich thinks about this?

http://blogs.colts.com/2013/11/20/indianapolis-colts-sign-rb-chris-rainey/

The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent running back Chris Rainey to the active roster.

Rainey, 5-9, 180 pounds, was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round (159th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft out of the University of Florida. In 2012, he played in all 16 games, totaling 26 rushes for 102 yards and two touchdowns and 14 receptions for 60 yards. He also returned 39 kickoffs for 1,035 yards (26.5 avg.) and three punts for 16 yards. His kickoff return average ranked fifth in the AFC and tied for seventh in the NFL.

Rainey started 19-of-52 games at Florida and finished his career ranking ninth in school history with 2,464 rushing yards to go along with 13 touchdowns. He also caught 69 passes for 795 yards and six touchdowns. Rainey returned 26 punts for 235 yards (9.0 avg.) and two touchdowns as well as 18 kickoffs for 454 yards. He also set a school and Southeastern Conference record with six career blocked punts. Rainey ran track and was an All-America selection on the Gators 4×100 relay team in 2008. In 2010, he was part of a team that won the NCAA championship in the 4×100 relay, while earning All-America honors following their first place finish.

That's all sunshine and roses. Their o line sucks. Great.

When I watch Richardson. He doesn't LOOK like a Top 5 runner.

Give him a dump pass and let him work in open space? Sure. He's awesome. But we didn't pay 4 picks. And Indy didn't pay a First for a 3rd down back.

Thanks. Needed one thing from yesterday to make me feel better. BTW, his longest was 8 yards leaving him with a 1.2 YPC (giving the benefit of the doubt and rounding up!!!) on the other 6 carries.

That would be pathetic even for an UDFA.

But he needs a full year of OTAs and the rest of the year in the new system.

Ironically, his longest catch of two receptions was also for eight yards.

The Colts just got rocked and had to switch up their game plan. Boom Herron had 4 carries for 33 yards for Colts though! Buckeye spotting!

Every time the Browns lose, I come here and see this topic, and think thank GOD.

Think about how dismal our season would be if we still had Richardson, who goes on to be his 3 YPC self, we finish with 5 or 6 wins, and it were to somehow come out to the public that the Browns had a deal for a straight up swap Richardson for Indy's first. People would be livid.

See, I don't get that. Why would the Colts use one offensive line when TRich runs and another when someone else does?

Irsay melted down on Twitter earlier. As an owner, he is a first class douchebag. He is ranting hard about the Colts' woes which is pretty funny (not specific to TRich however) but it should paint a bigger picture over what he did prior to that trade. He ran his mouth on social media prior to a Browns announcement which led the lynch mob to lambast our FO in TRich finding out via phone call off a mate. Screw Irsay, screw the Colts and screw Sorgi! The guy is a muppet.

It came out in the last few weeks that the Browns were actually the party to approach the Colts about Richardson. I wonder if they saw Irsay as a guy who may step on the feet of his own GM.

He's a bumbling moron.

Jimmy has his own problems, but at least from the outside, it looks like he's letting his guys do their own jobs.

Maybe, but it would definately be fair to say that the Colts Org.is doing way better than the Browns have, and probably will ever do.

They definitely have the upper hand with all the playoff appearances and their lone super bowl win.

I don't think they've built anything though. They rode Manning's jock for a decade, then stumbled into the Andrew Luck era. If anything, they've just had better luck than us. Haha, luck I know.

Talk about different ends of the spectrum. Quarterback vs No Quarterback.

Ok,, once again, I'm asleep at the switch again. I didn't know that anything came out about the Browns approaching the Colts. Not that it matters. Either way, we ended up with what I think is the better end of the deal. Just curious.

I think it was assumed that the Colts came to us with the deal, only because of how hefty it was, and the fact that teams just don't put top 3 draft picks on the table the following year.

I think Grossi confirmed that it was us who reached out to them.

You're right though, it doesn't matter because we fleeced them big time.

It feels that way today.. ( I mean that we fleeced them) but the real test is what we do with that pick. If it somehow lands us (or helps in some way to land) a starting QB for the next 10 years or so, then yeah.

Heck if it lands us a starting RB or CB or ILB or in some ways a couple of starting level guards, that's success

One could attribute that little more than shear luck.. sucking at the right time to get Peyton Manning.. riding that to a great decade, then being lucky enough to suck again just in time to get Andrew Luck... If the Colts org was really any good, they would have about 3 rings in the last 13 years.

2 things I'm thankful for, one that we got a 1st round pick for a UDFA level running back. and 2, we "lost" the RG3 sweepstakes. he's straight out horrible this year. i'd take weeden and tannehill over him this year. Well maybe not weeds...but it's be real close
