The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms with free agent quarterback Joey Harrington on a two-year contract, ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting.

Financial terms of the deal were not available.

Harrington will replace Matt Schaub as Michael Vick's backup in Atlanta. Schaub signed a six-year, $48 million deal with the Houston Texans last month.

Last season, Harrington played in 11 games for the Miami Dolphins. He passed for 2,236 yards along with 12 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

Before joining Miami, Harrington played four seasons with Detroit. The former University of Oregon standout was the third overall pick of the Lions in the 2002 NFL draft.

I got to give that front office credit, they made some smart moves IMO, regarding QB this offseason

Harrington is a bumb, his counting numbers always look decent but he ALWAYS ALWAYS throws game killing/drive killing INT's.

He flat out gets rattled under pressure. The guys should have gone to the CFL....

I have no idea how some of you can bag on Harrington but defend a scrub like Frye.

1. Because many of us dont believe Frye is a scrub.....

2. Harrington ragged on the Browns when told he might get traded there, refusing to come here...

3. Harrington is on his third team in three years, Frye is well on this third year.

4. As stated before, Harrington was a top 5 pick, Frye was a third round pick..

5. Harrington is a open mouth incert foot cry baby, Frye is a pick himself back up, it's only a flesh wond, I can still play, give it all ya got 100% football player....

6. Harrington is a Falcon who they pray dosent have to play, and opens his mouth every oppurtunity he gets, Frye is a Cleveland Browns player who keeps his mouth shut, dosent drag his teammates out to the media, takes the blame like leader, a guy players will go to war with Frye is also a player we'd like to see behind a talented healthy O-Line.

If were wrong than were wrong, but some of us see can see that tuff, professional leadership from charlie we havent seen in quiet a few years around these parts.

Any more questions.

Thanks for putting that out there Clay... be prepared, you will probably get flammed by a few on here who seem to hate any and all attempts to support Frye,,

I actually hope I'M wrong. I don't want another losing season. Frye IS a good kid and he does have the drive/motivation to become a leader on the field. I'm just still not sure he can get the job done. Proving me wrong would be a good thing for our team. =)

LOL...Thats fine, i'm use to it, I respect there opinions, and will listen, and if we give Frye a shot and he dosent pan out i'll be the first to admit I was wrong, This sight dosent shoot ya for being wrong and dosent hand out cookies for being right, So until Frye himself proves himself wrong I'll back him, or We'll bakc him..

Charlie is from my home town, we both grew up and graduated from Willard, me in 1981 and charlie well a few years later....LOL....Seen Charlie play high school ball, knew charlie's Mom & Dad, but it's been a long time since I've seen or talked to them, they wouldnt remember me. Good family, really down to earth hard working people, I know where charlie gets his work ethic and who keeps Charlies feet planted firmly in the ground.

LOL...I was called a home town Homer earlier this year....LOL, I liked that one, some people are pretty creative here...LOL...

Really I'm like everybody else, I just want the Browns to win, I think Charlie can do it, but if he cant, I'll be one of the first to say, he need to be a back-up and really a Cleveland Browns back-up QB is still something all smart little boys dream about and can be proud of.
