That is what our team was supposed to do. Someone did not get the memo.

The only REAL way to do that is with a win, which of course isn't going to happen.

Another year, another owner, another coaching staff and the same old #$%@ from Cleveland.

Not sure how people can be so critical of all the going for it on 4th. Last 2 years we criticized Shurmur for not being more aggressive and going for it on 4th in games with nothing to lose.

How would you like to be a Dolphins fan?
2 weeks ago they were in the driver's seat for the playoffs, with Buffalo and the Jets on the remaining schedule. They played Buffalo on the road, but had the jets at home.
They get blasted 19-0 by the Bills, and trail the Jets by 10 late in the 4th quarter today.
Those were 2 very winnable games that they let slip away, along with their playoff hopes.

at least they were fighting for the playoffs.

I dunno.
Man, a collapse like that when you have the playoffs in hand, has to be brutal.
They will wind up with 3 more wins than us. I don't consider that to really be much when you are talking about sub .500 records.

absolutely.
but still, they were in the driver seat. when is that last time we could say that? glimmer of playoffs mean you're playing good football. it means a few games going your way, and it could be different.
us? bottom of the barrel again. i rather have hope of playoffs than certainty of the basement.

You mean like when we had the playoffs in hand during the infamous special teams collapse game this year?
We just have our hopes ripped out by week 6 usually.

was hoping for a W because we'd be up for any QB we wanted (aside from teddy) so who cares, but I guess this helps lock up for us to reach for a tier 2 qb

Dolphins are 8-7
That's right. I don't know why I was thinking 7-8. Regardless, I almost think that being in the drivers seat late and collapsing feels worse. Heck, we were crushed when we were 3-2 and came apart.

Remember when the division was set up for the Browns after they beat Baltimore... then lost every game the rest of the season?
Yeah, I don't feel bad for the Dolphins fans.

also wanted a W to kick pittsburgh out, because you know the stars will align (already looking that way) for pitt to sneak into the playoffs

Yup funny how they always manage that.
Cinci just locked up that game.
Hopefully SD will beat a resting KC team. Sad I gotta hope for other teams to knock out our rivals EVERY YEAR.
But then again. I do not think anyone sees Cleveland as anything other than a win.

San Diego would have to have the ultimate choke job.
The Chiefs' Week 17 inactives are QB Alex Smith, RB Jamaal Charles, WR Dwayne Bowe, OLB Tamba Hali, LB Derrick Johnson, LT Branden Albert, and DT Dontari Poe.

That would have been nice to have won today, but I knew they were done and Pitt has a shot at the playoffs,at our expense. We can't win for losing, and these garbage seasons are really getting old.

Not sure I did not make any record predictons this year. All I know is even the most skeptical had more hope than usual. And then they were relieved when it turns out we are still as bad as ever. Even though there are more glimmers of improvement since the return. Meh! same ole' same ole'.

KC wants to throw this game, they do not want the squeakers in the playoffs. Would you?

Our run defense really seemed to suffer today with Taylor and Hughes (and D Bryant) out.
Leon McFadden is bad at everything. Can't cover, won't tackle, can't block a gunner. I guess cut him a break because he's a rookie but man was he bad.

I got a couple of free tix through work today that were 10 rows off the field and my 9 yr old wanted to go and I know it was cold and rainy and it was during the holiday week but I was amazed (and so were some fans around us) that the place was 30-40% empty even though they still had a chance to get in the playoffs. Also it was a very quiet crowd. The largest cheers came when the scoreboard showed the Cinci/Ravens or Miami highlights.
