Happy New Year.

May it bring health, happiness and success for all.

We had 17 kids here - 12 and 13 years old. All good kids..........but I was pleased that we got an inch of snow so I could "excuse" myself from the noise, yelling, spilled drinks, etc.......to go out and plow snow.

Happy New Year to everyone. I'm hoping 2014 is better. I was happy to see 2013 leave, for myriad reasons. (or, for a myriad of reasons..........let's just say, I have a lot of reasons to be glad that 2013 is gone, but no guarantees 2014 will be better.)

Woke up to about 6 inches of snow and they're forecasting 6" more. When I resolved to get more exercise in 2014, I didn't mean today, dammit. Oh well, off to shovel ...

Happy New Year, or somethin'.

I have about that much here. And I heard this is just the beginning for the next few days. I'm glad I have a neighbor who is willing to let me use his snow blower or else I'd really be screwed.

Oh well, Happy 2014 fellow Browns fans everywhere.

I was plowing last night/this morning for something to do. Plus, it's fun. (plowing, not shoveling. and no, I don't have a truck, just my unheated, un covered lawn tractor)

The boys that were here all left by about 1 a.m. 8 of the 9 girls spent the night. I was out in my office until about 4 a.m (and yes, my wife was in the house with them), went up to the house.....heard the t.v. upstairs, so I went up to shut it off. Wrong answer. The girls were still awake. So, I went to bed, only to get a call at 8:15 a.m. from one of the girls dads asking "hey, can you have Lex wake up? I'll be there in 45 minutes to get her cause the snow is getting kinda deep."

Wife went and woke Lex up, and I checked outside. Yup, about 4 inches. Get dressed, and plow again.

It's now 5 p.m. and as soon as I get the fire in my pole barn going, I'll be back out plowing as it's still snowing, and it's been breezy.

Good job keeping after it. I feel pretty good tonight because even though I'm a broken-down, old plow horse, I got my driveway and sidewalk cleared. I still gotz some skeels, ha. Tomorrow, I'll pay the price. Hope we don't get too much more, but I'll worry about that tomorrow.

With that wind and at least 4 more inches on the way, I don't see any point in snowblowing until morning. We're not going anywhere tonight. If I did it now, you wouldn't even be able to tell in an hour or so. I'm just getting up at 5am and doing it before work. Are we supposed to get more during the day tomorrow?

Eh, the Northern Indiana.......whatever........has a winter weather advisory out until either 1 pm tomorrow or 4 pm tomorrow.

As I look at the radar, there's a long stretch of snow on us and coming. But, it's not snowing HARD.

The wind is the problem - especially with this light, fluffy snow.. I can plow light fluffy all day long and twice on Sunday......or, 3 times on new years day.

The drifts here were getting big enough that I need to keep up. I guess I'll go check......might want to do it again.
