It is 7.5, I saw that on ESPN last week.

He broke or tied the rookie record set by MDPerry. Not bad!

I haven't heard DQwell's name as much as I would have wanted but I haven't seen every game either; I'm thankful I didn't see last week's Cinci game, regardless how good DQwell supposedly played.

[color:"orange"]Peen basically there are two stats:

One are the game stats submitted by the official statition of a game...this can be found on NFL . com and probably regurgitated all over the internet.

then there are the official official stats which are submitted by each team after reviewing their team films...these stats are noted at each sites team home page. these are the stats noted as correct and as a fan I would think to be correct as it is scrutinized by the coaching staff in reviewing their team films. I'll take that over some guys "whats his number? and was that 53???" during a fast paced game. But those go right away to the NFL after each game and what is published as the "non official stats" and please note this is in the case of Tackles only.

NFL.com and ESPN.com have Wimbley at 6.5 sacks. I could have sworn it was 7.5 as I have been keeping a mental tally each game. Not sure why there is a difference. Also McGinest is only listed as have 4 sacks on the NFL.com.

I saw the same figures on NFL.com.....so the figures posted on the NFL's own site aren't official??

I think the person who mentioned assists is correct...the NFL has tackles and assists seperate.

I myself would go with the NFL figures and not the team figures.

They took the one Wimbley had against the Bengals away -- actually, both his and McGinest's were changed.

From Tony Grossi:

"Elias Sports Bureau took away sacks by Kamerion Wimbley and Willie McGinest in the Cincinnati game and ruled the plays rushes for no yardage. That reduced the season totals to 6.5 for Wimbley and four for McGinest."

Once again, the NFL screwing the Browns, Wimbley's sack was off a playfake for a rollout - they don't want Wimbley to beat out Merriman. What a joke.

Exactly, Merriman's the new LT and the NFL wants to keep it that way, even though Wimbley is near IDENTICAL with Merriman's rookie season. Didn't you hear ESPN say they'd start a defense with Merriman as its leader?

Even then, I doubt he'll be rookie of the year.

I'm really getting sick of the media biases against the Browns. Yes, I know winning would cure that, but still, when you have sensational players who get NO coverage, something's wrong. In Arizona, at least Boldin and Fitzgerald got coverage.

What about bary sanders when he played for the Lions?

If a player is good enough he will get respect..no mater how bad his team sucks....i think KW is getting the shaft...but if he has another season like this next year u better believe he will get the respect...

Even more disgusting, when Strahan broke the single season sack record - exact same sack - except Favre slid at him a yard from the LOS. Exct same PA rollout. The league is fixed against the Browns - we need a D dominant enough to shut out teams in all 16 games and pray they allow us in range for 1 FG, though officials will find away to make it not count.
