The Ravens are supposedly going to hire both Shanahan and Kubiak. They have worked together before in Houston.

In what roles, Kubiak as OC and Shanahan as what?

Well, this should be fun to watch. I'm pretty sure we all agree, Ozzie knows what he's doing..

Looks like it's official. Ravens hiring Kubiak as the OC.

Ravens Hire Kubiak

Interesting that it's being reported that Harbaugh was a "non factor" in the decision process of hiring Kubiak.

They are also hiring Rick Dennison who was Kubiak's offensive coordinator with the Texans. I wonder if the Ravens are firing people to open up spots for Kubiak's guys.

It doesn’t sound like Kyle Shanahan will be on the Ravens staff after all. So, Gary Kubiak as OC, Rick Dennison likely on it, too.

I can't make myself hang my hat on anything from Twitter, but the PFT article I can live with.

Man, they just won a superbowl a year ago, I have to ask, why is the owner getting weird about this stuff.

Damn. that article almost makes it seem as if Harbaugh is on the outs with the ownership of the team.

You realize that almost all the sources for Pro Football Talk are lifted directly off of Twitter, right? Click that link and then click the links within the article and see where they lead you to.

No, I didn't know that and no I don't care. Reporters are using Twitter to be the first to report something regardless of it's accuracy. Oh hell, they do that anyway..

So you don't like Twitter as a source, but an article using Twitter as a source is okay?

Makes sense.

First of all, I sent you a private message telling you that Pro Football Talk uses Twitter when you went on your first Twitter tirade (I know you read it because I got a read receipt).

Second, in an earlier post responding to me about this subject you said:

Hate to say it but I think that was a solid pick-up for Baltimore (the Kubiak signing) and that doesn't matter if Harbaugh did/didn't have say in the matter.

It's solid if it doesn't create tension within the coaching staff, but Harbaugh is a pretty strong leader so I doubt that will happen.

I think you can stop now, I don't like twitter and there is probably nothing you can say to make me change my mind.. Nobody asked me, but had they, I'd have said don't allow it on here as a source. We get enough rumors, we don't need to make it easier to get them out there. Again, JMO....

Every reporter uses Twitter today. Often they fire off a quick tweet before writing an article. It lets them be "first" with a story. The whole key with Twitter is making sure the source is reputable.

I think the offense stays on the offensive side of things, and the defense stays on the defensive side of thigns with only the head coach mingling/intermixing between the two. I doubt Gary bringing in his offensive people has little to no effect on their defensive side of things. In either case, if it does create conflict then good. I hate Baltimore lol

And people complain about Banner and company are dysfunctional:

Ian Rapoport reported:

Quote:

The #Cowboys announce staff changes: Scott Linehan as passing game coordinator, Monte Kiffin as asst. HC/defense, Rod Marinelli as DC

What the heck is a "passing game" coordinator and "asst. HC/Defense"?

I love to be a fly on the wall in that room listening to this group discuss game plan! McHale's Navy?!?!

It gets even better...Rod Marinelli becomes D coordinator!

What a waste. Jones must have paid Linehan a ship load of money. Linehan is one heck of play caller.

I always thought Linehan, OC, and Shurmur, QB-coach, make a nice tandem.

I just picture Kiffin wandering around aimlessly. They should have just given him a vest and had him greet people when they come into the stadium.

Please tell me thats a hunch & nobody actually said that...

Man, that's just weird.. Doesn't seem like a good idea at all. But if they win the Superbowl, it will be the new rage in the league...LOL

I thought Daboll was the worst OC in football but I would hire him for running game coordinator lol His run designs were perfect. Some guys have a knack for one part of the game.

I'm assuming you're making a funny. If not, hiring Gregg Williams is a no brainer.

When Fisher took the Lambs job, he hired Williams as the DC. League frown on the whole bounty gate thing. Fisher gave Williams son Blake a try. Rumors are Gregg was helping Blake. Last year Gregg was hired by Tennessee, so Blake was on his own. Well, Fisher hired Tim Walton. Being Greg Williams and Fisher were buds from the beginning. Walton expendable. Besides Walton is no where near as talented as Williams.

Here is a guy who will make some serious coin...

Tom Reed, Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports:

Quote:

Ex Browns coach Rob Chudzinski hired by the Colts as a special assistant to Chuck Pagano, the team announces.

Does anyone know what Daryl is talking about here?

If the Browns had fired Turner and Horton then we would have to pay their contracts. Instead they left the team voluntarily meaning their new team pays them. If they were fired we would have to pay the difference between their salary with us and their new salary.

I'm sure it's a pro rated type of deal, where the salary they are paid by a new team is deducted, either partially or in full, from the money the Browns will pay them.
