Can KW be hired and announced now or would that have to wait until SD is out of the playoffs? I guess the question is more about an announcement than an agreement.

JC I guess after letting things soak in some and etc, that I would want Whisenhunt to be the frontrunner and HC here outta the bunch that is in the mix. I'll hop onboard the Whisenhunt bandwagon. Has experience and is known as a disciplinarian, which is exactly what this team needs. Plus he'd bring credible assistants I think if he were to hop on board. We'll see, there are reports and as stated here of him being the frontrunner for the Lion's job.

The usual protocol is to wait for the post season to end for the team he is coming from. But a long times ago maybe 20 years or so I remember an OC or DC get the nod as far as announcement but finish his playoff game. Hasn't happened in a long time so maybe all that stuff is written in the contracts now...
Will be rooting for Denver

Thanks EO. After all the Browns coaching searches, you'd think I'd have this down by now! (Of course, you'd also think the Browns would have it down by now too!)

I'm just saying the reasoning behind why they told us they fired Chud, would be the exact same reason they wouldn't keep Horton.
I don't think that there is any doubt that Chud is gone because of differences with Lombardi and the performance as the season went on thing is a convenient line to feed.
There is no doubt that they were not given a proper chance. You simply cannot gut rosters year after year, changes coaches and schemes year after year, and expect a turn-around.
We had some talent, but utterly terrible depth everywhere except the DLine. That's not a recipe for getting better as the season wears on.
True, but it isn't a reason to get worse either.
Injuries with crap for depth is a reason to get worse. The Defense regularly getting exposed in the same way over and over without us having the personnel to correct it is.
Beyond all of that, it felt like - to me - that somewhere in that building there was a concerted effort to lose beginning with the 2nd Bengals game. We were in position to make a run and the guys were playing well... and suddenly we couldn't do anything? Nah, that doesn't make sense. Whether it was the coordinators or what, I don't know, but something doesn't add up and it started around the time of the reported spat with Lombardi.
Sorry. I just disagree....we should have won 7 games.
No worries man, I still love ya.....unless that worries you.

I'd rather live in Nashville over Detroit too.

What, the constant threat of being stabbed or mugged in Detroit doesn't sound appeasing?

The people all talk funny down there.
I'll never forget when I took a trip to Tennessee to visit some friends several years ago. I stopped for gas and directions, and the 1st thing I heard in response t my question was "Y'all ain't from around here, are y'all??
The girls were friendly though.
