Nick Mensio and Evan Silva keep a running list of the top free agents available around the league entering …

With access to NFL Players Association data, Rotoworld can generate the most accurate free agent list on the internet. The free agents below are listed loosely in order of how we see them being valued on the open market.

I noticed Brent Grimes and Byrd are at the top of their respective lists... I wouldn't mind bringing one of those two in.

Oh where o' where will Vick end up?

No way will Jimmy Grahm be available. New Orleans would be nutheads to let him walk

Wouldn't mind having Ben Tate still! Lots of big names on that list, but...

So, what you're saying is that we could bring back Quinn, Anderson, McCoy, and Luke McCown for one grand ole showdown??

OK, let's spend some money .......

Let's see ..... $40 million to spend ....... Let's go shopping!

Let's go sign either Maclin (if healthy and recovered from his ACL) or Decker.

Let's sign OT Monroe. We wanted to trade for him, and we might as well go solidify the tackle position.

Then let's add Sam Shields. He's a bigger (relatively) CB who could play opposite Haden, and move Skrine to a super slot CB.

We need to re-sign Mack.

Maybe re-sign Ward ...depending on the defense we will play. If we need more of a cover S, then sign Byrd instead.

So, we would add:

WR: Either Maclin or Decker
OT: Eugene Monroe
CB: Sam Shields
C: Mack
S: Either re-sign Ward ot sign Byrd

Oh ... and if we want a great rush OLB, sign Brian Orakpo.

Man it is easy peasy to spend other people's money.

I think we have quite enough pass rushing LB's.

Obviously re-sign Mack and TJ. After that grab Donald Butler if we're running still going to run a 3-4.

I was high on Ben Tate, but after watching the Texans game they had some decent running back play which made me question if Ben Tate is good if they just have some really good run blocking. Kind of get the same feeling of the Shanny RB's where the OLine makes people like Tatum Bell and Ron Dayne into pro bowlers and makes Clinton Portis into an all pro. Now we just need to consider if Tate is another Clinton Portis or Mike Anderson.

Golden Tate is who I really want to get. He's finally came into his own this year and I doubt the Seahawks want to re-sign him because that team is way too talented to re-sign Golden Tate with good faith.

Running backs, MJD and McFadden are my top choices if they come cheap. MJD was playing injured this year and once he started to heal up he started playing better. McFadden can't stay healthy, but when he is he's good.

The QB list is just this giant scrapheap of also-rans...

At one point most of the names on that list were someone's belief that, that QB would be the future.

Orakpo is a 10+ sack guy.

I'll take that all day long, even if I have to let someone else go. However, as we saw last year, we can always use more pass rushers.

This is a great post to have up and I'll certainly go through it again later but a name popped out to me and one that many people probably wouldn;t consider.

Toby Gerhart.

RB with low miles on the tires that is typically effective in relief of AP. Big boy (231) that could stand the pounding of the AFC north but still respectable speed (ran a 4.53 at the combine). Catches the ball well out of the backfield.

I know that rumours have us connected with Ben Tate already and I'm all for that move but there will likely be a bidding war for him. Gerhart is someone we could come in under the radar on.

Tate is very likely going to cost too much for a RB (and more than Banner would put to a RB - one area where I would agree with him).

I would like Gerhart. He's a good player.

I'd have ZERO qualms if this happened! Him and then an upgraded right tackle would provide instant night-n-day different to that weak/wimpy right side of the o-line.

Yes when he's healthy, which isn't much often. Pec, groin, ankle, back and head injuries are all things he's been hit with... recall when he torn a pec, had the entire off-season and then tweaked it I believe the first or second game of their preseason? Unless it was dirt cheap, I'd actually rather just have Quiten Grooves. He played what, few games with extremely limited snaps and recorded himself two sacks.

I don't think his brother is as bad as portrayed. I'd be willing to go all Schwartz on the right side.

Resign our guys and get DRC or any of the plethora of CBs in free agency. If we can't sign one CB out of that top 10 list it will send red flags to me.

It will be interesting to see how many of them actually switch teams... a lot of them will end up staying put.. so we aren't really fighting over 10, we are really fighting for the 3 or 4 of the top 10 that are likely to move...

I really like Gerhart. He has just been sitting the pine in MN behind AP. He is a solid runner, good size, good speed, can catch, can pick up the blitz... I think he is a player that the vikes would like to resign if possible.

but, he is also a player that may want a chance to start and realizes that isn't exactly going to happen in Minnesota.

This list will shrink like a cold swimming pool makes....... well, you get the idea.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

When everyone started talking about Tate I brought up Gerhart. He has learned from AP and his stats even show. He would be a great addition. He has to know he can get a starting gig elsewhere.

might as well be here.

It would certainly lessen the need for burning a pick in this year's draft. Lord knows we have enough other holes to fill-

He has to know he can get a starting gig elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure if he looks at our RB depth chart, he should feel comfortable that he can get enough touches here...

Especially if Norv takes his pass-happy offense outta here...

It will be interesting to see how many of them actually switch teams... a lot of them will end up staying put.. so we aren't really fighting over 10, we are really fighting for the 3 or 4 of the top 10 that are likely to move...

A guy that really intrigues me is Walter Thurmond III from Seattle. It's hard to get playing time in that secondary, but he's flashed talent from what I've seen and read. He's got prototypical size and has recieved excellent coaching.

Norv's also overseen LT and Emmitt Smith. Seems like good company for any RB.

we have to sign Geoff Schwartz for RG.

I'd have ZERO qualms if this happened! Him and then an upgraded right tackle would provide instant night-n-day different to that weak/wimpy right side of the o-line.

I don't think his brother is as bad as portrayed. I'd be willing to go all Schwartz on the right side.

Oh man, Brothers playing right next to each other could actually make both of them better.

They'd be familiar with each other and possibly help communication, both of which are key for the O-line.

Not to mention sibling rivalry making each of them want to give that little extra push to knock their guy farther back than their brother did!

I have played a lot of football with my brother, and while he's 6'2" 185 LBs, whereas I'm 6'4" 238 ranging to 262 LBs, meaning he always played WR while I was DT, LB or briefly TE, I always gave a little bit of extra oomph when we were both on the field at the same time.

Possible targets:

WR: Jernemy Maclin or James Jones.---Different types of WRs. Both have injury concerns. Both would be decent #2s.

OT: Jared Veldheer---very good OT. Better than Schwartz

OG: Jon Asamoah---best guard available

ILBer: Brandon Spikes---improving player

CB: Vontae Davis--nickel and dime cb.

S: Bernard Pollard--will give you the same play as Ward for a lot less money.

What makes you prefer a Maclin/Jones over Decker/Nicks? Is it the likely money that they could be had for? I just think of Jones' issues with the dropsies from when I've watched GB and Maclin's how many-eth leg injury and have worries about the two.

The rest of your combing through the list I liked. If Ward is demanding top five safety dollar, that's a feasible route. I'd like a real thumper in the middle of our defense, too. Asamoah would be huge for this line, too. We need at least one significant upgrade at G. Personally, I'd worry about Schwartz later than allocate more of our cap for what I think would be a minimal upgrade. Even if he is the weak link after upgrading the interior, that can be somewhat masked with the use of chipping, shorter drop depths, rolls, boots, and waggles (especially if we make a move for Manziel). Corner is a must.

At the end of the day, we need to go into the year with a young QB of the future and an offense that will have not just talented pieces, but can form an identity. My personal pipe-dream of an offense going in to the year...

QB: Bridgewater/Manziel
RB: Gerhart/Sankey
TE: Cameron/Blocking TE
WR1: Gordon
WR2: Decker/Nicks
Slot/gadget guy: Dexter McCluster (if no Decker/Nicks, a guy who could be an outside WR in the draft early on maybe competing with another capable vet)
Tackles: Thomas, Schwartz
Guards: Asamoah, Early 3rd rounder (a guy who is strictly a guard but can obviously plug, play and be successful like Larry Warford was for DET)
Center: Mack or the next best available center on the market

Not sure (actually skeptical) that that's feasible under the cap, but that would be an offense I'd actually look forward to see what it could produce.

Nice post.

I think Denver will keep Decker. Nicks is a talented guy, but man, he seems to be a head case. It was a contract year and he bombed.

My two guys have questions, too. I'm not married to them. I was just looking over the list and trying to decide who could help us and whether or not they might be available.

Nothing factual about it. Just a game to play to escape boredom.

Dunno why Donald Butler keeps getting slept on. If we want a good ILB who can cover TE's than that's the guy. He played in a 3-4 this year with the Chargers and was excellent. That's my major number 1 if you ask me.

At this point, he's probably better than Joe Thomas.

I wanted to draft him, stick him at RT and move him to LT when Joe's contract expired.

Which may have been the thinking when we drafted Schwartz. At the 2012 Senior Bowl, the NFL coaching staff moved Schwartz to LT and it was reported that he played extremely well...

Can't see him playing there. He gets beat by bigger, slower guys on the right side. He would be a turnstile if he had to face quicker, more explosive guys.

Schwartz was a LT at Cal.
