Ok, so I know most of you probably forgot me or dont know who i am cause i rarely post on here, but I was CatchAndreCatch. I've been busy lately w/ college prep and stuff like that. But now i got a huge problem, and i got no one to turn to. Its not a big problem is a High School problem LOL. What happen was i had this amazing prom idea (HOW TO ASK) i came up with last year. I was going to use it but i gave it to a friend because i felt bad for him. I came up w/ a few others but i gave them away also cause thats b4 i knew i gave up my prom idea.
So right now i got no idea how to ask someone, anyone have any creative ideas? And how did you ask or how were you asked to prom?

Here are a few ideas: 1) "Well the prom is coming up and it appears you are indeed the last girl on earth and simultaneously Hell has frozen over. So... whattaya doin' Friday?" 2) "It's you or my mom." 3) "I know it's not really a dog show but if you're not busy..." 4) "I've got three hundred bucks and I'm hung like a mule." 5) "I promise I won't record us with my phone having sex afterwards." 6) "I'll take you, but you gotta pay for the limo." 7) "You seem fairly feminine despite that mustache, so how about you and I hit the prom?" 8) "Thirty percent of teenage girls are having sex and I've already asked seventy." 9) "The only reason I'm going is to wear my powder blue tux." 10) "I promise I won't smell like this when I pick you up." Find a place where you can get personalized balloons with the question printed on them, and have them delivered to her....throw in some nice flowers along with it, and she'll have a hard time saying "no" to someone who is so sweet and thoughtful. Chicks love that stuff!

LOL....My friend and I dropped our Prom dates off at 11:00 at night and bought a case of moosehead beer and went cat fishing all night, we told our dates they were more than welcome to come drink a few beers, catch a few cats, hook up some liver balls, but they turned it down...We sat on the river bank all night drink'en beer, catch'en cats, listening to a little hatchet, skynard, AC/DC....LOL...Prom

Let's see here. My Senior Prom was in 1979. I asked Karen, the gal who I used to give a ride to school every day in my car to go with me. She was an underclassman, but I didn't care, we were friends and that was all that mattered. We had a good time. I had a friend named Diane in 1980 that got dumped a week before the prom, and I graciously asked her that if she didn't have anyone else ask her, I would be more than glad to escort her to her prom...had a blast! In 1985, I was at work, and pretty much the same thing happened to a gal that worked there. My boss (who was a huge trouble maker) said Gordo will take ya! and I felt bad because she didn't have anyone to take her so I did. Her prom was at the old Bond Court Hotel. I kept slipping away across the street to Pat Joyce's tavern and getting a few belts, and then going back across the street to the dance. It was a double date, and I remember dropping them off so they could change into their after prom garb, and me and my bud took off for the flats. What a night. This is a pic from 1985, wow...I had a lot more hair then!

My Senior Prom included me asking a Freshman. She was a freshman in College! Since she was a beauty and no one knew her, boy did she grab the guys attention. But to answer your question, use most of the advice given in the thread. Just ask her, worst case scenario, she tells you 'No'.

I got a question for you. Why would you ask advice from a bunch of losers who spend all their time on a football message board? How well do you know this girl? I think that might make a difference in what you do. I would put a little more weight on what the women say on here over the guys except for Christy, she being a Steelers fan is proof enough she is clueless. If you know the girl well I think Christy's idea is quite good. Then again I spent my prom nite on a boat with 5,000 other guys so what the hell do I know?

Don't drag your feet. Ask NOW!!!! Don't fuss with the special way to ask. JUST ASK! Yes, I do enjoy the creative ideas etc., but if it were me and the prom was just a few weeks away, I'd frankly be getting pissed off at you if you hadn't asked yet and I was expecting you to ask.
For BOTH of the proms I went to, my dates were lined up in March and the dance wasn't until mid-May.
You're closing in on not enough time for most high school girls (in their minds anyway) to pick out the perfect dress.
If you want to make it a little special, take her to dinner and ask over the appetizer. Or, if you're not sure of the answer, wait until dessert.

IF you are already dating her it's easy she is expecting it and probably wondering why you haven't asked yet.
IF it is someone you are not dating, I presume it is someone in your school. Two ways to go about this.
One start off by asking one of her friends if she already has a date for prom. Realize her friend won't keep it a secret (this is her friend not yours). The possible replies are: yes or she is waiting for so and so to ask her or no she doesn't. For either of the 1st 2 answers move on. If the answer is no you will get a good idea of her interest in you. Her friend will run back to her and pass along your interest. If she is interested she will be readily available for you to talk to. If you notice she seems to be avoiding you then save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
The second way is to just man up and say "Hey I think your great. If you don't already have a date for prom I would love to be your escort".
One thing for you guys to remember. When you have been dating a girl for a while being creative is cute and romantic or at worst funny and goofy. If you hardly know the girl, the same romantic actions often come off as weird or creepy. Just keep it simple and be nice irregardless of her answer.
If she is worth asking but doesn't want to go with you she will feel almost as bad as you do. If you get shot down don't get angry show some class and say something like "I knew I should have asked you sooner" and walk away with your head up. Remember even the best hitters only get on base 3 out of ten trips to the plate. Just keep plugging away. And make sure you don't hurt your chances with the next girl by doing something stupid like punching the locker or worse crying.
If she says yes (which I hope she does) I would recommend a fairly quick exit. Since you are looking for a gimmick way to ask her to prom I am sure you will be nervous. When I am in that situation I like to get out before Ido anything stupid to make her regret her decision. Just say something like "awesome (or kewl or whatever is in fashion now-a-days) I'll give you a call tonight so we can talk over some of the details." Then get her number and excuse yourself by saying something "Well I need to get to class now."
My recomendations are to specify when you plan to call her then make sure you call her when you said you would. Woman have trust issues with men in general. Don't start ruining her trust before you even get started.

wha? i never ask for girl advice b4 on a messageboard . I know for a fact im gonna get a yes from her, its the fact i want to make it special. and im out of ideas cause i gave them to my friends and now i need a good one, so for christys is the best idea but its too simple i need a more creative one.

LMFAO, we seriously ended up at Wendy's for my prom. The restaurant we booked our dinner at apparently wasn't used to having such big crowds and accidentally double booked their capacity . We did get a free dinner out of it on another night though and it wasn't exactly a cheap restaurant so it was all good. Even though we were pissed, we made the best out of the situation
