Now the schedule has been released I am looking to book flights, accomodation and a ticket for the games! I want to get everything sorted and in place

I was hoping to catch back to back home games (it is a long way to come for just the one!) Unfortunately the only back to back home games would be the first 2! Pittsburgh and the Bengals. Does anyone have a spare ticket to these games? - I only need the one as I am coming alone!!!! I am willing to pay upfront for them?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Can't help you out on any extras, sorry. For what it's worth, individual tickets go on sale in mid-July.

My offer of free downtown health club use still stands from last year though.

Downtown hotels (relatively close to the stadium):
Hampton Inn
Holiday Inn Select
Marriott at Key Tower
Crowne Plaza

However, since you'll be here in September, you may choose to stay closer to Jacobs Field for a night or two and take in an Indians game. In that case, close hotels include:
Radisson
Hilton Garden Inn

No tickets at this point but I'll keep you in mind. I'm sure we'll find you something.

English,

I personally don't have extra's but my friend that sits behind me in the pound may. The good and bad of the situation is that the games are the Squeelers and Bungles. Two great games to see. Two hard tickets to get. It would be hard to pry one out of his hands because of his other friends and family. I can ask though. Maybe the fact that you'll be hopping the pond to come and see them can influence him.

English, I have my extra seat available if you want for the Bengals game. Face value $40.00. My seats are section 516, row 30, seats 8 and 9, 3rd row from the top. Way up, but great view.

Now that rocks! You guys are really gonna take good care of English. Now English, you know that if you do make those 2 games you will have to hit the Island and join us in our Washington Apples.

english dawg,

if you are going to get a single ticket, you should be able to buy a decent one on game day, the scalpers will cut you a deal on a single seat.

Thanks for all the responses ......

I will pm you about the tickets! Last year someone posted a link to a kind of hired room setup where you had your own cooking/kitchen facilities? I cannot remember the name so if it was you can you post it up again please?

Beerdowner - I will take you up on the gym offer - as long as the beers are on me afterwards!?

DTI is definately where I will tailgate - this will be my first ever experience of attending a Brown's game and I aim to make it a memorable one!

As for the Washington Apples ..... bring it on

You travelling alone English?

You'll have a blast mate. Gate crash someones house i would, mon- thursday it's a bit quiet but it's cool on the weekend.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn which was right next door to DTI and approx 15 mins from the stadium. The time of year i went we caught a Cavs game which was cool too.

Have a good one bro, give it a couple of years and i'll meet you there.

Yes! no girlfriend! and no mates ..... still to convince them of the merits of American Football

I have friends just outside of DC and in Florida so I may do some visiting during the week. Florida in September sounds very tempting at the moment just want to ensure I have tickets and then look at the flights.

It's gonna cost a packet but it will be worth every penny .... or cent! and hopefully a 2-0 start

You usually got to travel around the houses to get there. I booked 3 of us with expedia? i think it was.

Cardiff > Amsterdam > Detroit > Cleveland.

Airport Staff in Detroit - "Reason for visiting? "

Riddler "Watch a football game."

Airport Staff in Detroit - "Who you come to see?"

Riddler "The Browns"

Airport Staff in Detroit - " "

Riddler - " "

People get blown away that you travel all that way to see the Dawgs!! Suh weet.

I won't even try one because I'm not fond of things that taste like apple...unless it's an actual apple.

You guys ever do an "Astro-pop"? Remember the red/white/blue popsicles?

Requirements:
Rocks glass or equivilent
Shot glass or equivilent
Smirnoff Ice
Raspberry Stoli
Blue Curacao
Grenadine

Fill the rocks glass about 1/3 with Smirnoff Ice. Put the shot glass in the middle and fill 3/4 with Raspberry Stoli. Drizzle Blue Curacao on top of shot glass, drizzle grenadine into Smirnoff Ice - should have a red/white/blue hue to it. Slam it, and it tastes just like the popsicle.

Will you have a car? If so there are a few places outside of downtown that have kitchens in the rooms. If not, in additon the the link Beerdowner supplied there is the Residence Inn near Jacob's Field in one of the arcades between Prospect and Euclid.

I won't have a car so will need to rely on public transport/taxi's! will this cost much?

I have looked at 3 hotels the cheapest being Cleveland Days Inn Airport, 16161 Brook Park Road. I am also looking at the Holiday Inn Cleveland Airport (think this is the one you mentioned Riddler?) and the Residence Inn.

Is the Cleveland Days Inn Airport far from the stadium and things to do? I can't gauge much from the website.

Thanks for your help.

Yes the airport one is. any thing that was mentioned earlier will be in walking distance from both stadiums, the Rock & roll Hall of Fame, Shopping, bars, food, bars, Science museum and did I say bars?

If you want a cheaper room you will need a car. You would be not much more than an hour from the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Cedar Point ( an amusement park known for having some of the best coasters in the world). Also if you had a little extra cash you could drive about six hours to Chicago. It is the best town in the mid west for things to do.

Here, take a squiz around. I added DTI to it, if you zoom out a little you can see how far the stadium is. The Holiday Inn i stayed at was somewhere around that North Point thingo on the map i think.

Reckon the locals can pinpoint it better than moi.

Definitely....additionally, Browns gear is quite hard to find back home.

Off the top of my head, i left with:

Orange Warren replica Shirt
White Browns replica Shirt
Orange Browns Hoody (probably my most worn item of clothing)
2 x Buckeyes t shirts
1 x indians t shirt
1 x Browns baseball cap
2 Browns Beanies
1 Browns Mug
Indians drinks coasters
Indians baseball
1 x Browns beach towel
Indians golf club head covers

Any of you west siders know which hotels are closest to a rapid line?

As for the Hall of Fame I'm thinking it sounds like a good time for a few Dawgs to take a trip down there with you(or for some Dawgs up there ). Who's in?

English -

You'll want to stay downtown when you're here (assuming you don't venture out to the Pro Football HOF, Chicago, Columbus, Cedar Point, etc.). While the airport motels might be a little cheaper, you'll make up for it in taxi's and/or the general hassle of getting to and utilizing the rapid (our version of a light rail or "subway").

Have you checked Expedia.com I think they will allow you to book from the UK unlike Hotwire or Priceline. If you know of someone you can get the money to here you could have them book you rooms through one of those two sites and you'd get a decent downtown hotel for the price of the hotels out by the airport. Hotwire usually books at the Hilton Garden or Hampton Inn for about $40 a night.

As for the Hall of Fame trip as I mentioned earlier we can arrange to get you down there for a visit.

WooHoo we get to meet Starglow too

I'm not sure if the Rock Hall is open on game days but I think it is. I've seen people milling around inside as we walked by on our way to the Stadium.

Is Joyce gonna be there for the home opener? If she is, DTI will never be the same with the 3 of us on the loose.
