Moondawg, iambrown and I stopped by CBS today after the three of us took in the Baseball exhibit, along with iam's hubby, at the Great Lakes Science Center. Aw geez, the place looks great with all those orange seats and stuff. We were able to get inside, well just our heads through the gates, but the air did smell sweet. I think it smelled like playoffs in there

Have you checked Expedia.com I think they will allow you to book from the UK unlike Hotwire or Priceline. If you know of someone you can get the money to here you could have them book you rooms through one of those two sites and you'd get a decent downtown hotel for the price of the hotels out by the airport. Hotwire usually books at the Hilton Garden or Hampton Inn for about $40 a night.
Well I have been quoted $1,238 for 10 nights at the Holiday Inn Cleveland Airport and $1,832 at the Marriott - Warrensville Heights is this expensive?

Forget anything in Warrensville Heights. Cross that off your list now.
The airport Holiday Inn is about a 1000 ft. walk across the street from the rapid to get to downtown...but still, you want to be downtown unless you're planning on taking a short excursion out.
I did a quick check on yahoo travel (travelocity), and saw the downtown Holiday Inn Express on Euclid for $97/night in mid-September.

Can that be used by someone in the UK? I know that Hotwire and Priceline ususlly have the lowest prices but they can only be used in the US.

I would assume anyone with a Visa/MC/AMEX/Disc could use travelocity from wherever they are accessing? Am I wrong to assume this?

It seems like it would be that way but I know when Limey Dawg came over last time he had to get a friend to book a room in Baltimore through Priceline because he couldn't do it from Chelsea. So when I checked Hotwire I listed my starting location in the UK and they said it's not available from there and they suggested Expedia.

Hmmm, a conspiracy against the Brits Whatever the case, whether English goes through the hotels main sites, priceline.com, travelocity and/or expedia...the main point is to stay in downtown Cleveland for no more than $100/night average.

English if you're Dave from the British Bulldawg Browns Backers be on the look out for an emial from Limey. He's not making the trip over this year but was thrilled to hear you would be coming over. He also told me to look for you in the movie HE starred in about Browns fans (you know he's a little balmy ).
