I've followed Bungie for almost a decade now... since looong before Halo or Oni, long before the Microsoft buyout or the selling of large holdings to Take2 Interactive.... and I've always known them to be upfront and not promise what they can't deliver. That's why you never see release dates from them until they *know* when the product is shipping. That's why their standard answer to such things is Soon™

Like the Halo 3 beta was gonna be out in spring 07.
They are now saying June, that is basically summer (21st).

i think halo 2 was more of the retail stores setting dates... i do remember checking the bungie web sites and they never released a actual date... the game did get delayed... but they never had a set date that it was supposed to come out. As for the beta version... its may 16th though june 7th i believe.
It's only for a month though, but I won't be around for much of the later summer anyways... Wait a minute, May 16th? I never realized just how close that is... 2 weeks from now we'll be playing Halo 3!

I just played my last game of Halo 2 possibly forever last night . I guess if I wish to continue, I have to actually buy the game and get X-Box Live, lol.

Mine had a flyer on the inside and has it avaliable whenever it becomes ready on Xbox live.

When it first came out I had heard that it was only the first X amount that were sold and then I thought I heard that all the Beta copies were sold and there wouldnt be anymore.
But I also didnt pay a lot of attention because I dont play too much Halo.
I won't be in the Beta for sure. I don't have a 360 now and I know I won't have one by the end of this Summer. Money is very tight with a Vegas trip coming up.
If the Beta is a total success and I have the cash, I'll probably get a 360 a few weeks before the launch of Halo 3. We don't even know when that release might be.

Oh yeah, I've watched the videos a hundred times. I'm totally stoked dude! I hope Halo doesn't come out for another year....cause I know I'm not going to have $500 in November.

I haven't turned on my 360 in months due to studying for a serious test and work being hectic on top of it. But in a few weeks I shall be able to resume owning Hurricane with my chainsaw in GOW

My Best Buy warranty expires in November. I will trade it in sometime in October. My 360 is about to die again anyway. It's making the same noises it was before it died the last time.

Same here. I just turned mine on the other day for the first time in months for a few minutes. Too much school and too much work. Just don't have the time and it's only going to get worse this summer.

So you are trading it in and then upgrading to the elite?
I have a warranty through game crazy, can I do the same thing? Just say its acting funky and they pay the difference to upgrade?
The way it works at Best Buy, you take in your 360 and use the warranty. You ship it in and they give you a store credit. I will just use it on the Elite and I will pay the difference.
And saying that it is broken when it isn't is dishonest and unethitcal. I just KNOW mine is dying because it is doing the same thing it did the last time it died. I just used the MS extended warranty to get it fixed the first time.

It's waaaaayy out of my price range, also. That's why I'm going to use the store credit to put towards it.
I'm going to purchase the Elite and my new HDTV on one of those sale weekends where they offer 20% off over X amount of dollars along with a 3-4 years no interest payments. I can handle the $30-$40 payments.
Hopefully, buy Oct/Nov they have more HDTVs out there and the prices drop a bit. I should have a new job by then, too........I hope.
