Over the past few months, the "new and improved" Yahoo mail has driven me nuts. It absolutely stinks. But because I've had the account for about 14 years now, and everyone I've known during that time has my address (which is very simple to remember if you know me), I just can't bring myself to switch.

However, since the top of the week, I am getting errors anytime I try to log in to it on a PC - either at home, or at work. I can log in via my iphone and ipad, neither of which I'm a huge fan of emailing on.

Anyone else having these issues this week?

This is what I get:

We're experiencing some technical difficulties...

We’re sorry, but Yahoo Mail can't load due to a temporary error. You can try back again shortly, or visit our help pages for ways to troubleshoot the issue. Temporary error: 14

Yahoo has ruined mail and "My Yahoo". After 15+ years (not sure how long exactly), I've been slowly moving my email to a different account and am pretty happy so far. I essentially just set up an out of office message on my yahoo account, and sent an email to the people in my address book, and was done. The harder part is all of the accounts I used with my yahoo email address...

Have one and might just start doing that. Just resisting change as much as I can.

If I did that, and wanted to reply, it would reply from gmail, correct?

I hate the new Yahoo mail too. It sucks. They should just let you switch back to the old mail, it was much better IMHO, but noooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I'll have to check it out.

I usually check my Yahoo mail about once every couple of months, because I get so much spam in there now. I have had Yahoo mail since something like 1998. It was my 1st email account.

I looked at it, and other than not realizing that each new message opens in a new window, I see little difference. I kinda like that. I got right in, and had no problems using the email module. No errors and no problems here.

I used to have Excite's email too. (for about the same time frame too) but between the spam and the truly crappy interface there, I have pretty much dropped that one completely.

I'm with you ... I've had Yahoo mail since the 90's and I'm seriously considering dumping them, as each progressive email "update" has made everything worse in my opinion. I generally like the "My Yahoo" interface (although, that's become worse in some aspects as well), but Yahoo News has become absolutely abysmal. Don't get me started on that eRag.

You can set it to reply from another account. I have all my comcast mail forward to my gmail because I can use IMAP for outlook at work with it, and have it set so all my replies come from my comcast address.

Although what you may want to do, is put a signature in your gmail, notifying people of the change, and then always send/reply from gmail, and over time people will get the message and make the switch, you'll even be able to see as your yahoo box in your gmail account receives fewer legimate messages.

I've poked around before, but couldn't find it. How do you set up your Yahoo Mail to forward to another account?

1.Mouse over the Settings menu icon | select Settings.
2.Click Edit beside "Yahoo Account."
3.Select Forward.
4.Enter the address you want to forward your email to and select:
◦Store and forward - Email is saved to your account and sent to the forwarding address.
◦Forward only - All email is sent directly to the forwarding address.
◦Store and forward and mark as read - Email is saved to your account, marked as "Read," and sent to the forwarding address.

5.Click Save.

I agree with you that it's pretty sucky.

I don't like how they group emails together in a "conversation." When you open the "conversation", it's sometimes kind of confusing what the heck is going on, especially when there are multiple attachments.

There is just so many things wrong with it now. I never liked Gmail and now yahoo mail is screwing up too. Every mail update yahoo has had every few years is worse then it was, it seems. The old Yahoo mail was great (sighs).

I think a lot of it is what you're used to. I have always hated Yahoo mail, but had one for fantasy football. I logged in the other day, my spam email folder had 300 emails again after just being clear 3 days prior, not to mentionthe amount of spam coming from yahoo address we filter on our email server everyday. I have blocked all yahoo mail at times and warned all our salespeople to let their customers know we won't accept it.

Add me to the "It Stinks" list too. I don't know anyone who likes it.

Edit: As a side note, I have no problem with their Yahoo mail app for windows 8. So I prefer to read the Yahoo mail through my Windows Tablet. (I didn't want a windows tablet, but it was a gift. I still don't want it, but I use it. Did I mention it was a gift?)
