Pittsburgh is out of the playoffs because KC missed a 39 yarder.

Put it this way.............kicking a 35 yard extra point is harder than simply giving the team the extra point, which is what the commish is suggesting.

A missed or a blocked Extra point can change the tide of the game, I'm not in favor..

0.4% of the time. That's why. It's so rare, it's not a concern.

If the Browns are in the SB, and we block an Extra Point and we win. That's the picture, do you still want the extra points to be eliminated?

Anyway, that's not a part of the game that needs any work,,, why change something that isn't broken.. Leave it alone.

but, it is broken. it takes time to send the team out there and do what has become so methodical that it is all but guaranteed. there is no excitement to watching the extra point be kicked by professionals.

i am all in favor of making that part of the game actually worth watching.

I don't see it as Broken at all, I think it's just fine.

I am not for changing the game a lot, but I could get on board with this.

I can't believe of all the rules they want to change, they want to take out the extra point? Because it's boring and takes too much time? What? Too much time and boring? When am I supposed to go pee at the game. Get a drink or let the dog in at home?

They are messing with tradition and previous stats for kickers. Oooo so Jamal Charles wasn't points leader, it was a kicker. So what? Make them kickers and punters do more.

Plus your messing with fantasy football scoring. Skilled positions scoring more. Kickers get screwed unless team stalls.

And fake xp are pretty sweet

This guy is going to end up doing a ton of damage to the game before his time is up IMO.

Think what you want of Goodell but he's not making these decisions in a vacuum... he has to go through the committees and the owners and teams to get any of this stuff approved...

Anyone old enough to remember the Mad Magazine piece on a new game called "43 Man Squamish"?

Google it. The piece is pretty funny!

Keep the XP and make it a 35 yard attempt.

Just move the darn PAT back to where the NFL average conversion distance is 90%.

The next time the NFL makes changes that I like will be the first time since they moved the goal posts to the back of the endzone in 1974. Since that change, they just screw up more and more, little by little. NASCAR doesn't even change the rules as much as these guys. (Maybe a little hyperbole there, but you get my point)

- Put kick-offs back in the game by moving the ball back to where it was. (No excitement right now, Roger. If you eliminate them, then there goes the onside kick.)
- Use college rules on pass interference and replay.
- Get full time officials who do nothing but get better in the off season, pay them well and stop the buffoonery that occurs seemingly every week anymore.
- Replay all roughing QB and defenseless receiver penalties.
- Fumble recoveries not in the endzone need replayed too. That SanFran game was just an embarrassment.

He is also looking at ways to get teams to go for more conversions. At this point, 2 pts hasn't convinced teams to go for 2. That is why I said maybe make it 3 points but move the ball back to the 4....maybe even 5 yard line..

This would fit with the NFL's MO recently of what they think it takes to make the game more exciting... basically make running the ball not an option, almost guarantee it will be a pass play (though I bet most teams pass on 2 point tries now)...

I still don't see why this is an issue... after the TD, unless it's late in the game and the point really matters, I usually break for the fridge or the bathroom anyway and just assume they will make it... if I have to stay and watch it, it's going to cut into my food/break time... so I'm against it.

If they are going to make a change...ok eliminate the 1 pt. conversion.

6 points for a TD remains and all extra points will be 2 point conversions from the 3 yards line. Some will be made some will not. thats that...
