Anyone have this coverage and used it? How do you like it?

I signed up and am putting it to use because I'm off work on disability through April 25. They just called to let me know my money is on the way. No, it's not as much as I would make if working, but it's a little. And, when you're off work almost a month every little bit helps.

I have something similar - actually, identical, but fortunately, I've never needed to use it.

Had something similar from State Farm. For about $10/month, got me $500 when I got hammered at CBS for the opener, busted my head open and woke up in the ER at Metro, which just about covered all the bills my insurance didn't.

Yeah, so far I like it. Of course, they probably wish I wouldn't have signed up a couple months ago since I've already had to use it. I have both the accident and short-term disability plan. Glad I do since I'll be off work for a total of 28 days.

I have a disability plan through work, it's not AFLAC though. But it pays me if I'm out of work for 5 days or more due to injury, as well as paying for the injury itself. Like $10 per stitch, $100 for broken limb, etc.

It's the kind of plan, you hope you never need to use, because you know it means your hurting. :P

Aflac paid just over $100 for my first doc visit, plus $50 because my injury was a laceration, then $25 for each of my three follow-ups. That money covered all my visits and drugs. It will also cover up to 3 more follow-ups for this incident.

For the disibility portion, I signed up for $1000 per month if I'm off work and when I'm scheduled to go back puts me at something like 28 days off.

For $80 per month, I think it's worth it.

I'm glad to hear you pay $80 a month - I pay $73, and I noticed earlier beerdowner (i think it was) said something about paying only $10 per month..............I thought I was getting screwed.

And yes, from what you've said, I have a similar coverage, so we're kinda talking apples to apples.

I pay $19.00 and something a week. But with Aflac you pay more to get more when you can't work.

Hubby has AFLAC thru work. We haven't had the chance to use it yet, but we do get $60/year just for getting a checkup. So go for your yearly exam, write down the date and at the end of the year they send you a form...fill it out and collect $60 for doing something you have to/should do every year!

You can also use it if you go to the doc for a cold.
