Can't you say that about most college backs? They all are running through huge holes, maybe not the 15 foot ones that Trent saw at Alabama.... but still.

He really seemed like the complete package. Speed, power, blocking/blitz recognition, pass catching ability...

Makes you appreciate what the great backs in this league can do. Charles, Peterson, McCoy... Those guys are amazing. Watch their feet. I paid more attention to those guys and the way they used their feet after we traded Trent because they no longer saw the upside. There is a big difference in the way Trent uses his feet and the way LeSean McCoy or Jamal Charles use their feet.

If our brass really wants Hyde

And, they don't feel comfortable waiting until 35

We probably could get him at 26 which means its a straight up Richardson for Hyde

What do you think?

I bet Hyde is there in the 3rd round.

I wonder how much pulling the hammy at the combine effected his draft slotting/value? If he's there in the third, and we're up, holy moly Batman we'd had better snag him up like 2 cent hooker in a room full with one dollar bills!

Taking that type of thinking to its conclusion says that we actually would be spending a #4 overall pick plus others on Hyde.

Which is why I think that type of thinking is silly. It's a sunk cost. Separate transactions. Moving up to #3 to take TRich was a blunder but salvaging a first round pick from it seems like it was a good move.

I say you evaluate the 26th pick in the draft as if it were the 26th pick in the draft.

I think it may have affected his stock a little, but the evaluators have seen the tape. I just don't think RBs are valued as highly on draft day because there is so much talent to be had in later rounds. He may go in the 2nd but if he's not there in the third, I'll be surprised.

I wasn't on board with drafting Trent lol. Honestly never saw anything from Trent that was special... all his highlights at Bama seemed to be him just running through giant holes.

In part I agree with you... but Eddie Lacy and Mark Ingram ran through similar holes and they are both doing well in the NFL..

It's amazing how many people didn't like the TRich pick or the trade..............now.

I sure seem to remember getting crucified when I hated the pick and loved the trade. I sure seem to remember how he was the next AP. I sure seem to remember how we were tanking the season by trading TRich.

Doubt it'll have any by the time Pro Days roll around.

I don't get the Hyde 2nd round hype. I'd rather see us take Tre Mason or someone else at 3 or 4.

I'll bet you go through a lot of Sportscreme wearing out your shoulder from patting yourself on the back.

I know you were j/c'ing... My opinion hasn't changed, I was ok with the pick, not ecstatic but ok... when I heard he was traded I had an initial shock, wondered what the heck we were thinking.. assumed we were preparing for next year, but before the end of the week, I began to see the logic in it..... I still think the plan was all about next year and the future draft pick. The fact that we came out and won the next few games really made them look more like immediate geniuses than even they probably planned.

I liekd the pick, but also liked the trade. (because Trent just looked like he was regressing despite being healthy)

I liked the pick and liked the trade,

Trent will be ok in Indy next year, I do expect him to rebound. In my opinon Trent needed a year of not being the lead back with a heavy load every Sunday, Trent was beat up and I think still tring to heal from past injuries and wear & tear from last year, a down or slow year and Trent will be back for Indy.

Good trade for us becuase with our team we cant have the 3rd pick in the draft sit and heal for a season we would have needed him out thier and gotten him beat up even more, and injured more, and we need players, so good trade for us.

Care to name these so called "liars".. Care to back it up with PROOF by leading us to the lies you think they told. Giving them the opportunity to face their accuser and demonstrate that they weren't lying or to at least defend their position.

I'm not talking about opinion here.. you didn't say it like it was your opinion they lied, you stated it as fact, so back it up. Or SHUT UP.

I go back and forth on Hyde. At 26, I dunno...

Although I will say this, if Dion Lewis comes back 100% and ready to go, that actually has potential to be a really nice combo.

I just think if a really good prospect at WR or ILB (assuming we don't take one of those at 4) is there at 26, I don't think you can pass that up. I'm more hoping to take a back with that extra 3rd round pick. Hopefully that guy would become good and we can shove it in Pittsburgh's face for the next 5 years.

Was about to ask the same. Seems to me that most known posters were pretty clear on this.

FWIW, I hated the pick and was on the fence on the trade, as I really loved the compensation but feared it'd send a bad vibe through the locker room....well, we won one less game than under Shurmur, so I guess I win the virtual pee match here

as unasked and likely unwelcome arbitrator, I would have to look at the schedule and see that we won 3 consecutive games following the Trent Richardson trade and any bad vibes in the locker room cannot be attributed to such trade (ruling: bad vibes started with Hoyer's slide). therefore you both lose said match of digital urine.

That was three years ago and I'll be honest, I don't think I remember my opinion on that. I do however remember my opinion on the trade.. First reaction was shock and a bit of anger and then I settled down, thought it over and felt it might be the best thing. Then after seeing how poorly he played in Indy with a REAL QB, I realized it was probably the best move.

Oh wait, am I lying about that,, Gees I don't know, let's ask Vers

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

You'll have to speak to Vers about that. he's the one that holds the key to the box where all the liars names are kept.

An behold I saw a great Orange throne and the one who sits upon it.

And I saw all fans before him great and small, the book of lies was opened.

The fans where judged according to what they had done as recorded in that book.

Those whose names appeared where thrown into the lake of Erie.

( this ought to get me three day in purgatory)

Nah man..........no one lied. There weren't any "Tanking the Season" comments. No one said Banner was an idiot for trading Trent. Nope. No one at all.

Deflect much? You don't want to name the liars because YOU CAN'T. so instead, you deflect on my dog which you can't even name properly.. How smart AREN'T you.

Anyway, who were the liars you mentioned.. can you give names or are you going to continue to be the hack you are.. you make a statement, someone calls you on it and you won't answer.

Call people names, tell them they are liars then run and hide behind name calling and sarcasm.. Which by the way, you suck at.

What's it going to be, are you going to name the liars so they can face you or are you chicken to be called out?

CLUCK CLUCK CLUCK,, that's the sound a chicken makes.. are you clucking your way out of this.. Do you want to retract the liar comment.

You did admit with sarcasm that nobody lied, but you didn't mean it, can you do it without sarcasm and without a personal attack? Can you man up and take the heat for making such a dumb comment.. or do I hear CLUCK CLUCK CLUCK...

Come on Vers, man or mouse.. I'll let you decide what you are.. I won't have to call you a name,, you'll do just fine with that all on your own..

Your response will tell us all what you really are.

No. You really DON'T remember all the tanking the season and Banner is an idiot for trading our best player arguments that were floating around? You really DON'T remember all the arguments about whether or not TRich was any good or if it was just his injured ribs holding him back? You really DON'T remember all the talk of how great/stupid it was to trade up for him?

Come on, man.
