I listened to this guy on tv and I personally wish him the best, although I don't think his journey will last long and I hope he's done everything in accordance when the IRS comes snooping in on him. http://www.bizpacreview.com/2013/10/02/boca-doctor-sues-over-obamacare-delays-let-it-fail-now-84497Some highlight snippets: Quote:
The complaint, filed in a federal court in Florida argues that the delay “exceeded [the Obama administration’s] statutory authority, is arbitrary, capricious, and contrary to law, and is otherwise unlawful,”
Quote:
[Kawa Orthodontics] expended substantial time and resources, including money spent on legal fees and other costs, in preparation for the ‘employer mandate’ taking effect on January 1, 2014….[The company] would not have expended its time and resources and incurred these anticipatory costs in 2013 if the mandate had not been scheduled to take effect until 2015, but instead would have spent its time, resources, and money on other priorities.
Quote:
"The president wants to avoid the consequences of the law, and there are ways to do that legally, and that’s through having Congress repeal it or modify it," he said. "He’s chosen not to do that and act as a one-man Congress."
...
"He has no more power to do that than you or I," Kawa said. "In fact, he has an affirmative duty to enforce the law, and we are here to make sure that he does that."

EDIT and since he mentioned it when I listened, but nothing in that link, there's this too:
Kawa says he doesn’t want the government to reimburse him. Instead, he wants the court to nullify Obama’s executive orders

there have been thousands of executive orders from republicans and democrats.
this national healthcare is a work in progress.
its not unconstitutional, people are simply wasting their time arguing this.

Obama is abusing his executive orders, and if Dr. Kawa gets his way - it'll be magnificent to see Obama get put in his place and his powertrip or whatever it is, be decimated. A court nullifying Obama's executive orders would be an extremely pleasant site to see for someone like me. It's all in article one of the constitution.
Guess no one cares though lol.

My concern is that both Parties seem to think that the continuing upward trend of using executive orders to bypass Congress is just fine. Clinton used them ...... Bush used them more ...... and Obama has really used them a great deal. What is the last legislation he actually proposed to Congress?
I worry that the day is coming where the President will have inherited almost unchecked power. I don't want that from any President, no matter his political leanings.

abusing?
how? are you pissed about how many executive orders obama has done? or the TYPE he's done?
please, pick your poison, or both. because you're wrong either way.
i don't agree with obama on some things. but he's doing what he thinks is the right thing, and maybe if your precious conservatives stop bickering and actually try to get stuff done, you wouldn't be complaining.
no wonder he DOES use his executive power. what did you republicans say as soon as he took office?
"we are going to try and block everything he does", something like that? yea, i'd do the same thing, bro.

executive orders can STILL be reviewed and upheld by the supreme court.
if it doesn't, that means its not unconstitutional, so again, whats the problem?

This is a cyclical thing throughout history and really nothing new. Next time Presidents Day roles around, I'd highly suggest you DVR "The Presidents". It goes through the entire history of our presidents and causes me to conclude as I was taught growing up, that nothing is really new in politics. It's just one repeating cycle.

See, it always boils down to this. Democrat/liberal Vs Republican/conservative and George Bush did this and that... how about the fact that regardless of his party, regardless of his skin color, regardless what others done before him - he flat out lied to the American people and several times about several different topics. His poorly thought out implemented Obamacare, which was poorly read through by the Senate before being passed - is a prime example of this. Tea Party groups still being deliberately targeted by Obama's pocketed IRS gang. But yeah, we are complaining and not getting anything done when liberals are saying stupid things/excuses for things like why people are losing/lost their job b/c of Obamacare, how increasing the nations debt ceiling is not raising the nations debt (which had me laughing if the stupid morons who read/heard that actually believed it) and I could go on and on on the crap I hear from "your party" since you want to take it there... from my understanding, "your party" is trying to seperate themselves from Obama and Obamacare with hopes for election reasons and etc. Obama's approval rating is what now-a-days?
But say what you will, do what you will, I understand it's all someone's else fault when the end of the day/discussion comes.

that meme makes no sense seeing as the post i made directly to you had no mention of bush anywhere in there.
you wanna say obama lied? what president or politician HASN'T?
thats my problem with these discussions. people act like this is the first time politicians have ever done something like this. i like to call it the "holier than thou" argument.
poorly written? it STILL got implemented, it STILL got passes, and the supreme court STILL says its constitutional.
sorry buddy.

i swear to god.
some people seriously just don't get it. every single person who ever ran for president makes a lot of campaign promises.
you know what happens? when they actually become president and realize that it just doesn't work the way they think it does to make the country better. it isn't simple. its not a magical wand to wave around. it takes months, even YEARS to get ONE freakin' policy implemented.
its astonishing to read that from YOU, Dawg_LB. you a smart ass dude, no lie. so i'm confused about how you can even think that this is some brand new freak accident or something that presidents, no, politicians lie.

Swish, according to your rhetoric, because others have lied and others have used executive orders and others this and others that - it makes it okay to continue on this path. It's only gotten worse. Eventually, it truly will be a one-man congress or as I would call that, a dictatorship. Gotta open your little eyeballs up bro and look ahead. Obama taking things to an all new level and he still has a lot on his term to go and I'd hate to even think the next President to come in, what level THEY will take it. Sometimes the answers/solutions aren't always in the past my man. If you continously live in the past - the future will pass you up.

I thought that Bush had more than that. Of course, I guess it does make sense that he had fewer, as he had a Congress of the same Party for 3/4 of his term. There would have been less need for them.
Obama still has almost 2 years to add to his total. He also had a Democrat monopoly early on, so I guess that makes sense.
I wish that there was a site that showed how many laws were passed and signed into effect under each President too. (or maybe you know of one) Real, meaningful laws ..... not celebratory stuff and the like.
As far as the Supreme Court, neither party wants to take executive orders there, because they want their guy to be able to use them too.

Everything the republicans pass in the house, Harry Reid will not allow to come to a vote in the senate. If you want to point the finder at obstructionists in congress, look no further than Harry Reid.
In his state of the union, Obama pretty much vowed to become a dictator and bypass congress as much as he can. That should trouble anyone, no matter what party.

your over analyzing this way too much. if you think this is a dictatorship. please, go to North Korea.
i never said its ok to lie. no freakin' once. what i am saying is that this is what happens in politics. i WISH they would tell the truth. but you're being naive. sorry bro, but if Romney was the president, and did the same stuff, i doubt you and others would've said a damn thing.
it's only a one-man congress when its stuff you don't like, but when other presidents did the same stuff, and you liked it, not a word.
how bout you open your eyes?

Getting offensive now, huh? At where did I call this a dictatorship? I said eventually it will be a one-man congress and that is basically a dictatorship. You basically continuing to use other people's actions and etc (hey you posted executive order count of the Bush and others, etc) to justify Obama doing so is basically saying it's okay for Obama, cause others did it. So in essence, yes you're saying it's okay for Obama to lie, cause other politicians have lied. It's okay for Obama to do this, cause others have done that.
I see you're just talking with anger now instead of logic.

link to him saying he wants to be a dictator? don't worry, i'll wait. i got all day i watched the state of the union speech, and he said he will do what he has to if congress won't give him the support he needs. when stuff gets to the senate, even with the liberals having control, the republicans still find ways to block it. the house is controlled by the conservatives. sorry, but as long as its not unconstitutional, i'd be doing the same thing obama is, seeing as he doesn't get the support needed because the house and senate wanna argue party lines over the importance of the american people.

I disagree. When executive orders take the place of the legislative process, they are dangerous beyond words. People talk about the 1% ...... well, politically we are on a road to a political 1%, residing in the White House, with an inordinate amount of unconstitutional power. That's a truly dangerous 1%.

then whats the point of even having a president, if he can't make certain bills and such?
seriously. why even have one if you don't support executive power, which by the way is part of a check and balance.

An executive isn't a dictator.
Legislation is supposed to originate in the Congress, (with or without a Presidential proposal) passed to the executive for signature or veto, and then the whole process is subject to Judicial review.
What do you see as the irreplaceable value of executive orders, and what limits do you feel should be placed upon them?

i don't think it needs to be replaced because i don't see anything wrong with them. its that simple. thats just my opinion.
i didn't like bush at all. but i understand why he felt he needed to go above congress when people don't have his back. i feel that yes, if your the POTUS, and you have ideas and plans that aren't being passes because senate and the house are bickering over party lines over ACTION, then yes, there are some things as POTUS that you should be allowed to do.

Can you tell me where this is allowed in the Constitution? What section of the Constitution allows for such an action by the executive?
The President is empowered to "take care that laws be faithfully executed" ...... not to make up his own laws as he sees fit.
I don't have time to research it right this second, as I have to get going ...... but I believe that early executive orders were things like making note of the passing of a noted person, and calling for the flag to be flown at half staff, and such. It wasn't making law.

you're talking about article II, section 3, clause 5.
see, you need to read that entirely. he has the power to execute said laws, and to make sure that laws are being carried out.
see, you ALL need to remember, the house passed obamacare. so wants that became law, the president has to power to execute said law however he must.
whoops.

"...make sure the laws are being carried out."
And isn't he doing the opposite? He's delaying implementation of the law.
Side note: I find it really funny that the folks that were wringing their hands over those Tea Partiers trying to defund Obamacare (crazy as they are) are now the ones that are ok with Obama, with a flick of his wrist, delaying part after part of this law when he chooses.

thats not what i said.
but if they aren't passing ANY of it, than yea, he's gotta do what he's gotta do.
me and my wife don't agree with everything, but sometimes i gotta do what i gotta do for the better of the family. same concept.
when he has a whole party determined to block whatever it is he proposes, what is he suppose to do? just blindly sit there and let them do whatever they want?

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/...signed-1000-ex/Obama is actually on pace to sign the fewest number of executive orders of any two-term president since 1900.

http://www.usconstitution.net/xconst_A2Sec3.htmlHe shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States. http://constitutioncenter.org/constitution/the-articles/article-ii-the-executive-branchArticle II, Section 3 – What It Means During his or her term, the president must report to Congress about how things are going in the country. Every president from Jefferson to Taft fulfilled this duty with a written statement submitted to Congress. But in 1913, Woodrow Wilson resumed George Washington’s practice of directly addressing a joint session of Congress. This “State of the Union” speech, a tradition that continues to this day, usually occurs in January or February each year. The president also has the power, in extreme cases, to call both the House of Representatives and the Senate together for a special session. The president is given the power to meet with representatives from other nations on behalf of the United States and to otherwise run the country by enforcing the laws and directing officers and staff. Enforce definition: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/enforceen·force [en-fawrs, -fohrs] Show IPA verb (used with object), en·forced, en·forc·ing. 1. to put or keep in force; compel obedience to: to enforce a rule; Traffic laws will be strictly enforced. 2. to obtain (payment, obedience, etc.) by force or compulsion. 3. to impose (a course of action) upon a person: The doctor enforced a strict dietary regimen. 4. to support (a demand, claim, etc.) by force: to enforce one's rights as a citizen. 5. to impress or urge (an argument, contention, etc.) forcibly; lay stress upon: He enforced his argument by adding details. As in definition 1 ..... a police officer enforces the law. He does not decide what laws to enforce, and what not to enforce. He does not decide what penalties a person faces. His job is to enforce the laws as written ... not to make changes based on his own value judgments. There is nothing in the definition that says "create a new law because you don't like the one that is currently on the books. When you enforce a law, you apply that law as written. technically, President Obama could well be considered to be in violation of his oath of office by refusing to enforce immigration laws. Further, the Constitution directly states that he may recommend to Congress ...... but he is not the one to create new laws. He approves or vetoes bills as they come to his desk, in the role of an executive. He recommends bills to Congress. He submits a budget. He does not impose his will though. That is not his role, and is the very reason we have a multi layer government with different, and specific responsibilities. As to Obamacare, yes, he has to enforce the law. As written. It is not within his power to rewrite any laws. If a law passes that says that all government buildings must be painted green, and the President doesn't like green, he can't just arbitrarily decide to paint them blue instead. It is not within his power to change laws he doesn't like, or change them because certain parts are inconvenient. The President can persuade, harangue, convince, criticize, ask, beg, or rant, trying to get a law changed. (or passed) however, he has no power to decide, on his own, to create, or change laws that become inconvenient. That power rests with Congress exclusively.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

Well Nixon said if a president does it, it's not illegal anyway.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
