I feel sorry for TJ. While I am more than happy with signing Whitner (who I believe is an upgrade). $5.5M a year is nothing compared to what other FA are getting. he is much better than that.

If I was TJ Ward I would be willing to get paid slightly less to play on the Broncos

Yep, it's me who is full of insults.
I really think that some people think disagreeing w/the majority is insulting. They then trash that poster and get offended if the other poster defends himself.
Odd. Very odd.

Sorry but why would anyone be willing to get paid less. NFL is a business. NFL players have what.. a 10-15 life span.. if that?
Why get paid less?????

Ok......JC by the way.....who is getting paid more?
Seems like a legit question.
None of the guys who were crucifying me for saying that Ward might not be resigned and was overrated answered. LOL.........wonder why?
Watch this..........I'll post an untrue statement on another thread and watch them jump like fish on a warm spring day.
I had to go to look it up myself. Ward is getting $23 million for 4 years. Whit is getting $28 million for 4 years. Not hard to do the math. And they still won't concede. And Daman is still pressing the issue of me apologizing?
Really?
Bring it on, boys.

yep. plus, Ward will be going to the playoffs. doesn't all players contracts normally have some crazy financial incentives for playoffs, SB, and making the pro-bowl?
plus, if he gets even better than he already is, endorsements might come his way.
and we all know how players achieve all that: winning.

You know what...........I think that was a dumb move by Denver. Why the heck would they pay a one dimensional SS that kind of money when their pass defense was so weak? Why would they pay him when they have guys like Decker, Beadles, and Moreno on the market?
Pretty stupid, if you ask me.

If you would read this thread instead of constantly posing in front of your mirror, you'd already know that those guys have the same deal. Whitner got more base salary but has to earn the contract and Ward got 1mil more guaranteed
You can calm down now, lol

I was talking to my roommate who's a Broncos fan...
Denver is putting A LOT of pressure on Manning now...
You got to the Superbowl and lost, and now you're bringing in all this defensive talent, somehow raising the expectations of a team that finished #2...
All the while letting key offensive players go...
Hm.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

who's that important though? no offense to decker, but i never even knew about him til manning started playing for denver?
RB's are a dime a dozen, easiet position to play according to some posters, so an average moreno isn't a loss.

Well then, I guess I don't owe an apology. The Browns could have retained Ward and they chose not to.
Would you care to reconsider your earlier derogatory comments of my position?

Question.. was its Denvers Defence that lost the SB ... or Denvers Offence??
IMO Manning is the greatest QB I have seen in 30 yrs watching the NFL... Yet Denvers OL... (which in the SB was horrible) and WR.. well hmm ... has Decker been signed yet?
Just throwing it out there.

Well I mean, as much as people want to say you can just slot someone in to catch for 1300 yards and 10 TDs next year... It isn't THAT easy regardless of who your QB is... But I still think they have turned the WIN NOW.. into the WIN NOT JUST NOW! BUT RIGHT FREAKING NOW! mentality... Who knows, maybe Elway secretly hates Manning and is trying to ruin his "legacy" so he drops below him on the rankings..

To get a Super Bowl ring. He can still get another decent contract after his Broncos one is up I'd imagine. Also the exposure he will get in Denver will be huge. That alone could help get him a good deal later on.

i get what you mean, but it's not like their defense did them any favors.
what did decker do in the SB, again? 1 Rec, six yards.
absolutely game changing right there. and besides, we keep forgetting, theres a draft every team has, elway will add more pieces there.

Alright, let's make a bet.
How many more endorsements will TJ get this year? Name the number.
Btw----------------didn't you and I make a bet last year on the other board? How did that turn out?

i understand that decker has talent. but he's looking for WR1 money when he's a #2.
and i'll say again. where was he before manning got there? i'm not saying whoever replaces him is going to be the same or better.
what i am saying, is 1 catch for six yards in the SB isn't exactly screaming "pay me"

the bet isn't even over. did you forget the terms already? don't skip town.
whats crazy, is i'm looking at the bet now..but the termanology...your boys got fired!! i dunno if the bet is even valid anymore since your homeboys is out of town.
and jesus man..why does everything have to be so literal with you? all i'm saying is if Ward plays even better, and his team goes to the playoffs and the SB, he could possibly get those endorsement deals.
its like you HOPE players fail so you can be right? the hell is wrong with you man?

What derogatory comments of your position? Just because the Browns didn't retain him because of scheme does not prove anything but that fact alone. The Broncos chose Ward over Whitner. Now what? Since when did the Browns be a smarter org than Denver? and weren't you highly skeptical of Farmer's evaluation skills. What is it now? Ward sucking? or Farmer being clueless? Damn logic, lol Both got paid, both are coming off good seasons. What's your point? Sorry, but there's no pissing match going on here, as much as your inferiority complex tries to make it happen, but that's your problem alone. Have fun using this thread mirror posing though

What was ill informed?
Decker IS a #2
Decker WAS nothing before Manning got there (I looked)
And Decker had 1 chatch in the SB...

i'm saying if he was so important to the team, decker would've been signed already.
you keep trying to bust me out for something, but you keep forgetting: denver is thinking the same thing right now. hence why they haven't re-signed him. he wants too much money, and didn't perform, along with the rest of the team when it mattered most.
they clearly think their defensive problems is way worse. which is why they signed ward, talib, and Ware.

I just looked at the salaries for WRs...
I might give Decekr 4-5 mil a year, based on what everyone else is getting..
It's REALLY skewed because Megatron technically makes 5 mil this season...

exactly. he wants what megatron SHOULD be getting paid...even though he's a #2.
anyway, this is about ward and defense. i think denver absolutely got a great player. check out thee denver forums, fans are loving it. their defense just got that much better with ward talib and ware.

I think Denver made some mistakes here,
I would have gone after Allen before Ware, Ware was very average last year rushing the passer and that is what Denver needs, Allen would have been a better fit
l also would be more inclined to want Revis over Talib just because of injury concerns if nothing else and I think he just better.
And while I love TJ, I am not sure he is what they needed, a run thumper for sure but their issues were pass defense last year not run defense.
Still they are successful so they must some idea what they are doing.... right?

I'd say it's more about Talib...
All I can think of is the play that cost them against Baltimore 2 years ago, and how TJ doesn't make that play any better...
