Shaun Lavao a first day signing?????

Jay Gruden must have liked something he saw during our division games to give him $17 mil.

When the #Browns reach a deal with Donte Whitner, I’m told it’s expected to be four years for an average of $7M per year.

Ian Rapoport, Twitter

It seems like we could have gotten Ward for similar money, no?

Maybe TJ and his agent priced themselves too high, but if the money is the same wherever TJ goes, this move is a downgrade IMO.

Do not agree, I've been saying Ward is over rated. Talent wise it's a wash and I bet Ward gets more money.

As I understand it... Ward wanted $8 mil, wants the FO to do? Wait and try to get him at $7 mil or get a comparable player at that price?

If they wait they may get nothing.

Farmer has said the right player at the right price.... seems Whitner fits the bill

And I'm sure other people feel the same as you.

I think his coverage (although not his best trait) is nearly not as bad and people say and I've seen Ward on a upward linear path, improving in EVERY year he's been in the league. He has gotten noticeable better as a player year to year. I think he's gonna continue on that trajectory with whatever team he signs with.

It will be interesting to see his contract when he does sign. I also wonder how this will effect Haden. Hopefully, not at all, but you never know.

Agreed, would that be another reason to get Revis now?

was worried about OG's as we haven't been linked to any I have seen. if Schwartz stays in KC, then we are running out of options.

We need 2 OGs IMO. I don't want 2 rookies on the interior of our OL.

j'c Oakland according to PFT just said they are no longer interested in chasing Revis and now only the Browns are the only ones left showing interest in trading for him

I don't want to count on Pinkston. If he comes back at full health, then my concern is unwarranted. I love Greco as a OC/OG backup. I would prefer a better starter.

Blaine Gabbert to the 49ers for a late round pick

@RapSheet: The #Jaguars have QB Blaine Gabbert to the #49ers for a draft pick, per source (as @AdamSchefter said)

Pinkston will be soon 2 years removed from his problems,I don't know, but I would hope that is enough time for him to be fully recovered. He's smart, got good feet and hands, should fit well in a zone scheme.
At RG,we don't have one. While I liked him in power scheme,Lava was never going to be a decent guard in a zone.If we are planning to play Greco or Gilkey at RG,well all I can say is run left, run left, run left, and just to fool someone run left again.

Pinkston fully healed was a good guard. We could also easily just draft a RG depending on what we do in the draft. There are some really great guards in this draft we can get in the 2nd or third rounds.

That's an optimistic view.It could very well be that the new regime doesn't place a high priority on olinemen.
We'll have to stay tuned to find out.

I agree with you guys, but it's been 2 years removed from seeing him play. There is no way to know for sure if he's the same player. Football is a brutal sport especially at the LOS.

Lol, has McFadden ever played a full and entire 16 game season in his career? Not discounting his skills/game, just his injury history.

Giants sign brother Schwartz

Jerry Reese is a smart value grabber, always been that way. I'm surprised they let L.Joseph go, but he got two of my favs in RB Jennings and OG G.Schwartz.

I don't remember being THIS much activity EVER on day 1. Will there be anyone left for tomorrow?

I don't remember US being so active so quickly. Anyway, I'd have to check but it might be that way because of the extra cap space...

That's a GREAT deal for the Vikes imho. Would have taken him for that money...even with our depth. Maybe would have tried to trade Rubin then. Linval Joseph is one of the best young DTs in the game and he'll only get better. Smart way to replace Kevin Williams. Strong signing

It helps that there's a fair bit of talent actually hitting the market this year, too. That isn't always the case.

guys left I'd be interested in:

Revis & Ware - obviously, but doubtful we get either

RB Donald Brown & Knowshon Moreno
S Chris Clemons & Jarius Byrd
CB Tarrell Brown
OG Rinehart
OLB Mike Neal
ILB Moats or Daryl Smith

My goodness the list of guys I wanted sure disappeared quickly.

With as many players that came off the board so quickly, I'm surprised Byrd is a name still out there. Like someone said, maybe his team overvalued his position.

But still, didn't Buffalo offer something like $10M/year

Funny, the prices are already going down. Ward got the least amount of money as he signed after the other's and the market probably dried up.

Now, Z.Beadles, L.Joseph signing reasonable contracts....it's already coming down.

Winner so far is Lauvao and his 4.25per he stole from Synder, lol

FYI, Rinehart has re-signed with the Chargers yesterday. 2y, 6mil overall

I still hope we look at RG S.Smith from the Rams...great run blocker, but struggles in pass pro.
