Hey Guys,
Well, as you know they closed down my stomping grounds so I thought I'd make my first thread here the one I made my first thread when they reopened the other board the last time.
This is my dream car. The Ford GT, this car is faster than Lamborghini's and Ferrari's. I've seen it on youtube.
This is the car that Ford won 4 straight 24 hours at Le Mans with.
I want to upload a picture, but the only thing I find to do is upload a 'link' from my computer. Don't want to do that and I can't find an image that fits within the 200,000 pixel limit on the web. Which is weird, because the image I uploaded on the old board I was able to choose from a bunch of different sizes.
Little help? Please, post images of your dream car too!

Image sizes are a tad restricted around here, not really a problem, just post a link (or like you said, find a smaller image).
Is this a price-is-no-object dream car or within reason?

This car goes for around $300k or so at auction. They only made them for 3 years, you can get a kit car and make a real one for somewhere over $100k, which I'd do if I could do it!
I do have an image that would fit, but I don't want to link to my computer in order to post it. Why can't we just upload an image?

Funny, I saw one of those this morning near my daughters school. It actually parallel parked right in front of me.
Outside of picking a Bentley for value, I'd probably go with a 1965 Lincoln Continental convertible (black exterior with white interior) and give it to Chip Foose to design. Maybe a 1973 Dodge Challenger if he's not too busy.

Only time I've ever seen one live is at a car show. Would love to see one on the road one day, 'specially if I'm driving it!

My dream car growing up was the Dodge Viper GTS, and I feel very fortunate to own a '97 GTS That said I would love someday to own an FGT or R8. I love rear mid-engine supercars

If I had to pick a dream car, I might just go with a Fisker Karma or a Tesla.... they're just some seriously bad machines.
But, beyond that, if money was no object, I'd build my dream car from the ground up. Probably body-on-frame to start with to keep it simple, but perhaps evolve it being a unibody. Something with two V-8's (or two V-12's, which would be near perfect with the right camshaft - a cylinder ever 15 degrees) married under one hood, with AWD.

You can build a replica GT40 for a lot less than 100k, unless you want it to be an exact replica.
As for my dream car, an Audi R8 V10 would be close to the top. I also like the new Lamborghini Aventador, but I could have 2 R8's for the price of one of those.
I love the Ford GT and would certainly consider one if those as my top pick. Decisions, decisions....

Audi R8 GT. I've seen one in-person and it looked and sounded furious, even when it was just rolling at about 5 MPH. I felt immasculated in my A4 behind it. I'd also love to have a '67 Mustang (Eleanor from Gone in Sixty Seconds).

Bugatti Veyron. I was actually driving behind one and a couple of Ferrari's when I was up in Red Bank, NJ near the Navesink River. Amazing automobile.

1978 Ford Pinto. That car was smokin' hot.

What?
The big fad at that time, as I well remember, was airbrushing your cat/truck/van .......
Many did so with flames down the side.
This car came with it's own flames.

I'm a nerd. I want a Tesla S.
My wife would tell you she wants a vintage Bugatti, but in reality she loves her Town & Country. I don't think she could do a vintage interior.
Can you picture a Vintage Bugatti with steering-wheel controlled satellite radio and electronic climate control?

From one nerd to another, the BMW i8 is intriguing. Love the lines and the "gee-whiz" factor. Quite possibly the sexiest mass-production hybrid today: I don't know if I'd call it my "dream car," but if someone wants to leave one in my driveway, I won't complain. list price: ~130K. p.s. I wouldn't turn down a Tesla, either. Muskmobile!

Pretty sure PETA and the American Humane society would have your man parts for doing that today. (and for the record, PETA and AHS are a joke).

If we're talking vintage (vintage looking), I want a '39 Lincoln Zephyr, or a DecoRides or Auburn Boattail Speedster.

There are a handful of expensive cars I like..... You know, the usual: Mercedes, BMW's, Lexus.... ...But as far as muscle cars go? I really like the Challenger's now. I used to love the Camaro's, but they changed the tail lights and it doesn't look as hot this year. Last year I brought a Camaro to my parent's house, from the dealership. Just like you do that special girl. Didn't yet buy it. My father and I took it for a spin. The visibility is horrible on the sides of the car and the inside is cramped. I was very close to buying one anyhow, but the back wheel drive is a turn off for me. Yes, I know it's a muscle car but I would rather have front wheel drive because of the snow. You almost need to just store it for the winter and buy something else with front wheel drive. I really liked the new Challenger. It depends on what color scheme you get but they can look really rocked out if you pick the right one. (^That^ Challenger looks great, like death, but I doubt it's street legal.)
