Russia has been in a repression for awhile, but Crimea is worth it. It's their only naval base in the Black Sea. It'd basically be like us giving up Guam (Truthfully I don't know that much about US's most important naval bases, but I'm assuming Guam is extremely important as it was since it was discovered to WW2) or something close to that.

I agree, the Black Sea and access to Mediterranean via Bosporus is the reason they did this. Not sure about the bases, but in terms of logistics I'd compare it to the Suez or Panama Canal. This is an alternate route (to the Baltic) in bypass of the entire continent of Europe.
The US and Russia "fought" over access to the Gulf of Aden and Red Sea. We both put a lot of arms and operatives in the Horn of Africa. Not a coincidence that there has been so much hostility in Somalia since.

jc Didn't make sense to have two Ukraine threads going on so I'll just post it here. http://rt.com/news/sashko-bily-dead-reports-013/"Notorious Ukrainian right-wing militant leader Aleksandr Muzychko, also known as Sashko Bilyi, has been shot dead during a police raid against his gang, confirmed Ukraine’s Ministry of Interior." If anyone recalls my earlier posts I said that it was despicable that EU/America would side with Neo-Nazis, but it looks like Ukraine are now taking them out behind the shed. Now that's something that I can support.

Ah, he must not have been able to drive to get his i.d., and there was no one around to take him, and life isn't fair if you can't drive, and things are so far away. And somehow, the u.s. is responsible...........

World's Worst Kept Secret: US/EU had nothing to do with Ukraine's revolution. http://ronpaulinstitute.org/archives/fea...y-overseas.aspxBut hey, make this about a completely other topic and cry more. It just makes my day
