I haven't talked to Will in years, but I'm pretty sure he said his father was a musician.
He still calls Dan Patrick pretty often. Weekly during football season.

Not to hijack the thread with personal mumbo jumbo, but I think I am 1 outta the 10 people that think Will Ferrell is anything but funny/comical. I just don't see why so many people think he's funny.

He's very hit or miss with me, more miss than hit. Some of the stuff he does is pretty damn good though.

I was just watching Semi-Pro last night. I'm not sure why I like that movie so much. It might be his biggest commercial failure too. I laugh throughout the movie. It's about the same to me as Blade of Glory.

I agree that Will is hit or miss. But, in my opinion, Step-Brothers, Anchorman, &, most of all, his character on East Bound & Down are all pure comic gold.

Hah, cool fact. Ferrell is best as Trebek in Celebrity Jeopardy on SNL. The last time he hosted he didn't reprise the role, though

Old School is one of the underrated comedies in the last 15 years. Tons of well known actors in it too, aside from Vaughn, Wilson, and Ferrell, you had Elisa Cuthbert, Ellen Pompeo, and Jeremy Piven.

I don't think that he's all that funny either. Most of his movies are just really stupid.

The closest I can come up with is the sound a person makes when they are in the same room as GM when he passes gas.

I like Will Ferrell a lot more in supporting roles than in starring roles. That said, I did like "Stranger Than Fiction" quite a bit, and I found "The Other Guys" to be pretty enjoyable as well.

That's the thing about comedy, it's very subjective.
I've never found Mel Brooks to be funny but a lot of people love his comedy. I've seen Ferrell be very funny and I've seen some of his humor as stale and hokey.
So I can actually see how some would love him and some wouldn't care for him.
