I may get killed for saying this.. but this guy has too much talent...
BRING BACK ANTONIO BRYANT!!! PLEASE!!! The guy is a playmaker!! Yea, I know he has a few issues, but his attitude is what this team needs IMO. He's a fighter, and won't back down to anyone, especially the Steelers. He started off last season on FIRE for the 49ers, then got a little quiet for whatever reason, but he is a true star in my eyes.
Braylon and Bryant could start.. We all know Bryant gets separation like its nothing. Winslow at TE... Teams didn't get to see Bryant, Edwards, AND Winslow on the field at the same time. And now with Jamal Lewis, and hopefully Adrian Peterson being drafted in the 1st, I like how that offense sounds... Add a guard in the 2nd round.. Best Guard Available, and watch this offense move down the field.
Savage... consider it atleast.. The guy got over 1000 receiving yards..He got the Browns 45 first downs... who else has? Just make sure he keeps his pants up.

I was a huge fan of Bryant, I wanted him out of college and I was bummed when we didn't re-sign him. However - he has character issues and they said he wasn't a locker room guy and part of building the winning franchise is the attitude of the vets to influence rookies and give the professionalism. No matter how bad the Browns have been, something good is happening here. Free agents never wanted to play here before - suddenly we are getting guys here who want to help turn it around - they see the direction and want to be part of it. Steunbach could've gotten the same money elsewhere - but he cancelled visits to sign with us, same with Bentley and JJ as well as others. I didn't like the move, but I have faith in it as Bryant ended up getting cut for being a problem.

well I hope Wilson steps it up and takes over the 2 spot, cuz Joe is a little too old for me... He's a true vet, but he's nothing spectacular.

Joe's never been spectacular, but he doesn't need to be. He catches everything that comes his way, moves the chains and is a team player - what more could you ask for?

So you want two selfish WR's with questionable hands?
San Fran loved him so much that they cut him after a season. And San Fran is probably in worse shape than we are despite their record, they got lucky being in the NFC and being in the NFC West of all divisions.

I think for a team in our shape, while Bryant can be really good for us he can also be bad. We need a winning team attitude which he doesn't bring. Now what i don't understand is why a team like the Pats or Eagles don't get him. The Pats really could have used him as much as most recievers they picked up, Tom Brady would have used his talents for sure. Same thing with the Eagles, they could really use Bryants skills.
As for us, did we even attempt to re-sign him?
Sometimes with players there's issues that aren't seen on the field. The guy might just be a really big jerk. Because Antonio Bryant has always shown that he's capable of producing on the field (to a degree), but he still gets cut from like every team he goes to.

Waiting? Hell,he ain't waiting. He cut him a long time ago!
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

No thanks. We don't the attitude or dropped passes from Bryant. He's already looking for his 4th team and he hasn't been in the league that long. His attitude doesn't warrant the play, nor is it worth it.

Good athlete,, you betcha,,, can get separtion,, you betcha,, can cause grief in the locker room and in the press,,,, you betcha,,, can drop balls for no reason,,,, you betcha..
I'll admit to you that I wanted the Browns to resign him when his contract was up, but upon further review, I don't want him anymore because of reasons above.. You can debate them till the cows come home, but it's not going to change my mind on him.

Don't know how many receivers with possible attitude problems one team can handle. We know how Edwards can be and I think it's a matter of time before Wilson starts speaking his mind...

Exactly. Just because Bryant put up big numbers once or twice doesn't mean he'll continue to be a "playmaker".

keep in mind there might be more to the incident which got him released from the 49ers, I say this because for one the 49ers are in need of recievers and two nobody has signed him, from my understanding,

Clay, you may have hit upon something there,, I mean, there are teams out there that could use a decent WR and from what I can tell, he's still sitting out,,, you have to wonder why that is?

Um, no, we don't need Antonio Bryant. He had his chance to be a team player and he did not seem to care enough. His numbers were slowly increasing so if that had been the only question I'm sure he would have been resigned and given more oppurtunity, but, his attitude would not and did not allow that to happen.
As far as Calvin Johnson goes, why are so many of you against drafting this guy? I mean if he's being hailed as the closest pick to a sure thing and his attitude is exactly what you want, then why is he a bad pick for us? I don't get it?
I mean, it's not like we have a real solid WR corp, now is it? Evidenced by what most of you are saying; Braylon has an attitude and drops passes, Joe J. is getting old, Wilson needs to step up (even though he is just barely out of college.) Cribbs is still a project, and Carter, well we don't reallyl know how much he will contribute, depends if he stays healthy. If Thomas is gone then I would not blame Phil for drafting C.J. at all.

Seeing how they're a potential contender for their division I'd have to say the 49ers are a step ahead of us. Not only that but, they have a very burgeoning quarterback and they have a very underrated running back which should set them for years. I'd also say that they have less question marks than us as well.

Sorry Turk,
Can't agree with you on this one. He is very talented, but he also has an attitude problem.
These kind of guys can alienate your whole team. Good player with some upside, but even more downside.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_BryantFollowing a victory over the Seattle Seahawks on November 19, 2006, Bryant was arrested after his Lamborghini was seen speeding faster than 100 mph on Highway 101. He was charged with suspicion of misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, driving under the influence, and resisting arrest. As a result, Bryant was suspended for four games by the NFL. He sat out the final two games of the 2006 season, and was scheduled to sit out the first two games of the 2007 season. On March 1, 2007, however, Bryant was released by the 49ers. He was due to be paid $1.25 million in the 2007 season, prior to being cut. Reason enough ?

Ahh, I don't know turk, that was 3 years ago now and it's probably water under the bridge between Parcels and Bryant.
Actually I think there was something that may have happened in SF that is messing up his chances now,,, I don't know that, but again, something is wrong with him or he'd be signed already..

he's just been "permitted to leave" his 3rd team in what...4 years? All for personal conduct reasons. He's a has-been that barely, if ever, was. Unless he corrects the Cranial Rectalyis that is holding him back, he's on his way out of the league.
Browns is the Browns

Im in favor of bringing him back. He would play his butt off if he was signed for a cheap one year deal and had to prove himself.

I bet their record would have been similar to ours if they were in the AFC North.
