I didn't ask if seeing violence makes a person more likely to do violence. I asked if it desensitizes a person to violence. I think it is well established in psychological studies that it does. Where you go from there is up to you, but I don't see how anyone can disagree with that basic premise.
again, it depends on the person...
i've been playing violent video games since the original mortal kombat came out, and i'm still very sensitive towards violence in the real world, i know it's wrong, and i don't do it...
so if it depends on the person, that means they've probably been desensitized from violence, even before the video games came into play
why don't people ever blame bad parenting?

video games arent the problem so called "gun-free"zones are the problem. if just one of those young ADULTS were allowed to consealed carry. The losses would have been much less. A armed society is a polite society. undeniable evidence: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=55288

While I might not like the overall site's message, you can't dispute the evidence. That has long been a story about the positive effects of gun education.
I dont think that it should be a law that requires people to own one though.

Are you telling me you have the same reaction when viewing a violent act as you did when you first saw violence as a young child? I don't believe that. Your eagerness to prove a point is causing you to not think clearly. Desensitization effects everyone in every way. It's the law of diminishing returns, buddy.

and the bottom line is, i play violent video games, and have been for a long time, and not once have i thought about commiting any kind of violent act on anyone, i don't own any guns, and i don't ever plan on owning any, as well as any other weapons... i won't even hunt...

I consider myself extremely desensitized to violence. I have no problem with rotten, play violent video games, and own two firearms.
On the video game front I also play sports games, strategy, etc. to cater to my broad tastes. The firearms are for target shooting and heaven forbid home defense. Both me and my fiance got our training in firearms at a young age, via our respective dads showing us what happens when you shoot an animal with a gun.
Saying violent video games contributes to this level of violence makes no sense.
