I just watched it take off! The prez was near here speaking today. I work across the street from the airport, and I got to see his plane taxi around and take off! I don't care if you don't like the president or don't like planes.... this was neat to witness.
Anyone else ever get to see anything like this?

Dayton Int, actually! He was in Tipp, so that's a 10 minute drive, makes more sense.

I saw Bush 1 in Strongsville before he lost to Clinton and the big bird overflew us while we were waiting.
Also, years ago I was in DC with the family and we saw the presidential helicopter land 100 yards or so away. I don't remember who the president was then, I was young.

One of my Navy buddies went to work as a contractor for the Air Force. He was responsible for all the maintenence of the Sec. of the Air force's jet ( Gulf Stream IV at the time). We took a tour of that hanger ( Sec of Defense jet was also there) and then a tour of Andrews Air Force Base. Air Force One was just sitting on the tarmac (the converted 747) a couple of hundred yards away.

Yeah, I've seen Air Force One numerous times. It's pretty cool. I work right next to Hartsfield Airport in Atlanta and used to have a cube overlooking the runways. He comes here every once in a while. I've also seen all the big traffic jams when they shut the freeway down when he and his entorage drive around here. Luckily I was on the opposite side of the freeway. haha

The last time the President was in Dayton I saw Air Force One as it was gaining altitude after take off from WPAFB. I was talking with my neighbor and we only noticed it because of the two military jets that preceeded it.

Yes it does, you see, they pull out this gigantic treadmill that goes at the same speed as the wheels in the opposite direction............

When stationed at Moffit Field..............just outside of San Francisco..........Ronald Reagon flyed in one occasion, utilizing Air Force One.
Working security at the time...........it was also nothing for us to have to block off many streets as the Secretary of State would always be escorted in my CHP.
State Route 101 would literally be shut down for miles!
When stationed aboard the U.S.S. Forrestal...........Barbara Bush (then the first lady) came onboard the day before a six month cruise.........and utilized Air Force One which landed in NAS Mayport...............Jacksonville, FL.

I saw the presidential convoy on I-90 going to Erie a few years ago. It was pretty cool. There were like 4 busses, several black SUV's, a blackhawk, and about 34098574347309 cops. I wondered why all the overpasses had cops on them, and all the on ramps were closed. The cops made us pull into a rest stop and wait for him to go by. We were at least 45 minutes ahead of him.

Yeah when Bush came to Fort Myers for a campaign fund raiser at a private house they closed of the entire route from the airport to the house. Of course the f'er decided 5pm was a good time for this. I was sitting in traffic for 2-1/2 hrs, for the president to take a 15 minute ride from the airport to the house. bunch of bullpuckey
