no need for yet another crappy qb in cleveland. other than him having gone to OSU, i dont see what appeal he could have to people here.

i'd be all for it.
he's young, has mad potential, and got better as the season went on. dual threat, good arm. work on mechanics and with a guy like hoyer to learn from, no reason he can't compete at least to be a solid back up for us.
oh yea..and beating the steelers. we STILL can't do that, and the raiders had the worse talent between us.

I'd take him over Alex Tanney. I don't see the harm in him being the third QB. He could even come in and run some Wildcat.

I'd take him in a heartbeat. He is a dual threat with a big body. Lil' Shanny could coach him up to be can newton like. He could be 3rd string and learn the playbook. You guys telling me you would rather hav tanney here thaN Pryor.

Just as a talent, everyone would rather have Pryor than Tanney. Pryor just brings the extra unwanted baggage (especially in the state of Ohio). I'd still rather have Pryor. QB3s are easily replaceable.

LOL Somehow, I don't think the wildcat is in in the playbook any longer.
Oh, and he made the stink of wanting out of Oakland because he wouldn't be the starter after the team signed Schaub.

Might consider this for camp. Still a cut player who would be a project in a new position. Think our time & efforts are spent better on fresh rooks.

Something about having a QB who just learned how to really throw a football LAST YEAR on a team like the Browns in a state where he burned bridges pretty much counts him out for me.

This. Not happy being QB2 so let's bring him in to be QB3?

Depends, if we draft Manziel and run some variation of the read option like they did with RG III, then I could see him maybe getting vet minimum to be 3rd or 4th string.
In that Scenario, Brian Hoyer is kind of a wildcard. Likely not the direction we're headed.

Only as a QB3.
I'm not saying Rex Grossman is going to come off the bench and win you the Super Bowl, but he has a grasp of Shanahan's playbook, and just flat out understands the position. Pryor would be a nice project, but I don't want that guy as my next option when my starter goes down...

If he'd accept a relatively cheap 1 year deal (with club option for 2nd year) without guarantees, I'd consider it.
BUT, only if he accepted not being a QB. Put him at KR/PR if he can catch, with occasions as RB, WR, and possibly TE. He' dynamic and fast, so he's worth a look to get on the field in some way.

Aside from a 2-3 year project, not much.
I think we already have that "slash" type guy in MarQueis Gray (I hope he becomes a mainstay) who can run wild cat and do a few other things.
It would primarily be a lotto ticket. Nobody will deny his gifts, but his arm mechanics and ability to scope defenses are horrible..

If we're going to run a "Johnnie Football Offense", he may be complimentary to the system.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

The pursuit should be conducted by the State Police. The charges can range from having poorly designed and executed tatoos, to throwing away a very promissing career by never coming close to reaching his potential.

They also traded for Charlie Frye. Sure, that was another brain trust, but not every move they make is wonderful. They also signed Matt Flynn to a free agent deal. They take some chances, and maybe they have a plan for Pryor. Maybe they just brought him in for a look, It's not like they have a ton of holes to fill. They can afford to waste a 7th rounder here or there.

If Chud was still the Head Coach I'd say perhaps he would be worth a look. He might work decently in Chuds system. Maybe..... I don't see him as a WCO guy and that's more than likely what we are looking for with Shanahan running the offense. Though it's possible they could work with a guy like Pryor, I don't see that being the kind of QB at the top of their list. I suppose we will see very soon. He's going to hit the market and i don't think there will be many suitors. Unless he's very lucky he will probably end up in Canada.

Can anyone explain to me why people seem to dislike Pryor outside of his QB performance?
I have a bad memory as most of what I see are highlights. Pryor had some of the most impressive and exciting plays in the entire NFL last season. I would be happy to have him as our 3rd string QB. I think he is a good pick up for the Seahawks.
