1. Atlanta- Clowney 2. St. L - Watkins 3. Jax- Manziel
In any other scenario the Rams take a Tackle and Houston stays where they are and take Clowney anyways and get a big bodied QB with their 2nd round pick like McCarron or Mettenburger or Savage. Maybe Carr falls that far.
Jax cant sell out crap and Manzeil would bring them huge dollar signs. I don't buy that missing big, at drafting a QB high in the 1st round, sets your team back 8 years. Not now with the rookie salary cap and whose to say that the other position player doesn't pan out. Im starting to come around on Johnny Football but like RGIII, I just don't see him taking a ton of hits but he is a playmaker and I think he can develop the plays quickly. The anti-Weeden.
Then I guess who you can say who is the BPA for the Browns.
I like Mack if Watkins isn't there. Maybe move Kruger inside to add some depth there or vice versa. I think he could be a Derrick Thomas like player but in no way can I sit here and say that he will rack up sacks like Thomas.
I really hope that the Rams see this as a deep draft at WR so the Browns can take Watkins.
Drafting a Tackle would be the safe pick but I really don't think the Browns want to go that route. I was really scratching my head when the last regime inquired about the Tackle traded to the Ravens after the trade was announced. Kind of crappy thing to let out when you have current employees you are trying to send a message to. I don't like that tactic coming from the top. But Schwartz is serviceable enough to get a player like Mack.
Id also rather take Tahj Boyd or Aaron Murray late over taking Bortles or Bridgewater at 4. But would not be upset if they liked either QB enough for that pick, but Im not sure how they feel about them. I like Bridgewater better than Bortles because I have not see enough tape at all on Bortles.

Not picking just on you Top, just curious what people see in Derek Carr? I literally haven't seen him play outside of highlights. What makes him a better prospect than the rest? Just curious.

1. Houston - QB Bortles
I think they would like to trade down and still take him but with there being no clear cut consensus number one guy I think the Texans will get stuck with the pick.
2. Buffalo (from the Rams) - DE Clowney
The Bills are switching back to a 4-3 Defense and need someone to line-up opposite from Mario Williams.
3. Minnesota (from Jags) - OLB/DE Mack
The Vikings lose Jared Allen in Free Agency and go and get his replacement.

Clowney Robinson Manziel
One thought I had is that this draft being rather confusing as to the order of talent at the top and there being two extra weeks to scramble everyone's brains I think teams will be more inclined to go the "safest" route. Meaning more likelihood of sticking to strict BPA. I'm betting all 3 LTs go in the top 10.

My percentage of confidence on this is less than 50%. I don't have a good feel for this draft at all. I think having this thing pushed back 2 weeks has caused so much garbage to be released from the media, and the blogger-draft knob-wannabe scout/GM world...
Which is causing Thursday to be even crazier. This football-cycle has become a gold mine.

The closer we get, the less I have a clue. I think the top 3 players end up being the following, but I have no idea what team will pick them and where they'll go in the top 3. I do expect that at least 1 of them will be due to a trade, maybe all 3.

I'm against trading back, because I'm sick of it, and I don't think we need to, but if that situation happens, I think I'd be ok with it, depending on the terms of the deal of course.
You have to imagine the Falcons and a few other teams who have kept very quiet would be blowing up the Browns' phone services...

I've watched him more than any other prospect and I still can't figure it out. He's got a cannon, he's mobile, he's a smart kid and a leader. But he's inaccurate past 10 yards(especially deep), becomes less reliable under pressure and blitz and has poor mechanics. He's essentially Jay Cutler with a better attitude but no deep ball or, if you'd prefer, Brandon Weeden minus 8 years with good wheels and more natural leadership. Neither are enough IMO.

To me, that's my worst case scenario. I don't want a QB at #4, I'd rather wait to see who's available at #26. I would hope someone takes Manziel before he gets to us because I'm worried we get bullied into taking him.
While there are rumors of us staying or trading out, but I heard a few about us trading up to #2 for Manziel. I'd puke.
He's my nightmare.
