That would be a surprise. But outside of trades I really don't think picking any of the 6-8 guys that have been linked to us at 4 would surprise me in the least. And 26 is a total wild card IMO. Anyone is going to be surprise, which makes it not a surprise. Carr would surprise me only because when are mocks ever right after the 8th or 10th pic?

Based on my mock...
1) Four QBs go top 8 2) Clowney falls to 5 3) Martavis Bryant goes top 40 4) 3 Centers drafted on Day 2 5) Jimmy Garoppolo and Tom Savage last into triple digits 6) Allen Robinson, Donte Moncrief, and Cody Lattimer all last into round 3

That most of us will be happy with this draft.
I have my Browns hat on, and my old Browns wallet.
I need to know what time we are making our pick, so that I can put my hand on a kitchen appliance. That sometimes works.

We'll trade next year's 1st and a 3rd from this year to move back up into the middle of Round 1 this year, in addition to the other suspected move from early second to late 1st, giving us a total of four 1st round picks this year.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

We trade all of our draft picks this year for picks in next year's class because it's deeper.

Raiders stay at 5 and pick the fastest player in the draft, regardless of position or rating. #SpeedKills

I got my Three Stooges shirt on.
Funny I usually put my hand IN a kitchen appliance AFTER we pick, disposal, blender, mixer things like that

Really hard to predict anything because of how tight lipped everyone is being...
Was like that last year too.
I think there is a meh to decent chance Mack goes #1 to Houston.. Seems like a better fit for that defense.
If that happens, I think the scramble gets put into overdrive... Browns better keep their lines clear because I have a feeling they could be fielding a lot of offers... I'm against trading back but there's no harm in listening.
I think one of the QB's goes top 10, the others not too far behind. By 26, I think the top 3 could be gone.
Picks 2-3-4 will shape the entire first round...

Only 2 qb's go in the first.
Jadaveon Clowney is not the first pick, unless there is a trade.

Browns end up not drafting a QB in round 1. Not to do with lack of trying but we try to get cute and wait til 26 for Bridgewater and he comes off the board before.
We try to get back into the first to get ahead of Houston to position ourselves for Carr and lose out on that as well. End up with God knows who in round 3.

Mel Kiper shaves his head after David Carr falls into the 2nd round. Todd Mcshay Shaves Mels head after David Carr falls into the 2nd round. It takes Chris Burman only 30 seconds to make some stupied joke about the movie Draft Day.... Jets fans will whine & cry about thier pick.... Raider fans will have no idea who thier pick is.... Steeler fans will stand around waiving their yellow Spongbob towels, screaming yes we got him, even tho they have never heard of the player before today in thier entire life....thier motto, you dont have to know football just act like you do.. Bronco fans forgot the draft is even today, Since they legalized pot, all they care about is the Dorito delivery man showing up on time. Browns draft 3 out of 4 future Hall of famers in the first two rounds and continue all the way to the Super Bowl...and win it...

^ This..
The real interesting speculation on #26 will start right after the name at #4 is announced because that will dictate a lot. It wouldn't surprise me at all if a bunch of phones in a bunch of war rooms light up after we make our selection at #4 because that will drive what folks think we are going to do at #26 and whether or not they need to move in front of us.

" With the UH, 3rd pick in the 2 thousand and 14 NFL draft, The Dallas Cowboys select, Quarterack, Johnny Manziel, Texas A and M university" ... shoot! What school did he go to? who cares.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

1. Johnny Manziel has a better career than Blake Bortles and Teddy Bridgewater. 2. Carlos Hyde gets drafted in the top 7 picks of the 2nd round. 3. Khalil Mack has more sacks and goes to more Pro Bowls than Jadeveon Clowney in his career. 4. Mike Evans gets picked higher and has a better rookie season than Sammy Watkins. 5. The Browns have take three players in the first round tonight. They will take a QB, WR and a CB.

I can't stop thinking Bortles is gonna be our pick at 4.
Call it a gut feeling.
Can someone tell me the positives on drafting Bortles so I can prepare myself for it? Cuz I think he's terrible.

Sammy Watkins gets picked at #4 by a team other than the Browns.
We trade some serious ammo to move up from #26.
There will be 1 really high-ranked, hyped player available in the 3rd round and we pass him.
1 of our early picks, we pass the unanimous best guy at the position for someone buried on everyone's chart. (Farmer's Hughes/Schwartz)
And finally, the biggest surprise. Its a good draft for us!

Somehow we trade up from 26 and end up with Manziel and Evans with our first 2 picks.

millcreek, I really like Evans. Maybe we trade back from 4 and get him. Then find a way to get Johnny later in the 1st. I prefer Bortles, but I am intrigued by Manziel.

I posted the scenario earlier that could realistically happen.
Browns draft Mike Evans at #4
Trade picks #26 and #35 to the Giants for pick #12
(We'd be giving up 1250pts for 1200pts on the draft trade chart)
Browns take Manziel at #12.

Obviously the size is the first thing anyone will bring up... He has a good arm. He is actually a pretty good athlete, he throws on the run very well for a big guy..
However, I think these were all things said about Gabbert a few years ago?
I read that Bortles did not play QB in high school. Was recruited as a TE... George O'Leary saw different... The transformation has been amazing. However do we really want to draft a guy that needs to sit a year at #4? I just don't see it. I think the Browns haven't been linked to him because I truly believe they don't have interest.
I hope Ms. Duke is doing well though, hot damn.

Sometimes it's always good to go back to the original thoughts... Months and months of speculation, stock up, stock down, pro days, private workouts, wonderlic tests, etc...
I really don't think Teddy falls. Too football smart, too pro ready. If anyone, I think Bortles may be the guy that drops a bit..
If that's the Browns' guy, and that's the latest rumor... You better go and get him at 4, and don't screw around.
Aside from thinking some guy like Murray or Mettenburger is their top QB, they better not get cute and think they can draft someone else at 4, and hope they land at 26. You either love your guy or you don't take one of these first round grade QBs...

Slight surprise I suppose, but we may go OL with pick #4. If Clowney & Watkins are off the board, we may have trouble trading down.
