Is Frisman Jackson still available?

OLB?

Can he play inside?

Why no WR?

Ugh. I'm done for tonight. Goodnight all.

Good Pick he can play ILB or OLB

Figured WR or LB, have to give them credit for sticking to their board.

I do like the idea of us building our defense and I do believe that we needed to add to our LB depth. Don't know much about Kirksey but I'll roll with it.

I'm still wondering about our situation at WR...

I liked Kirksey early in the draft season as 3rd round pick, and then I saw him sliding down the rankings on the media sites, so I thought he would be a 4th or 5th round pick.

He was productive, and is a fast LB who I thought covered quite well, often seeing him in the slot. Supposedly has a heck of a motor and is a real good kid.

LB was certainly a need, and I do like this kid. I just don't know about the value.

That was my thought. He was rated as a 4-5 rounder by CBS. (which doesn't always mean everything ..... but man, that's way earlier than it would see was prudent)

I dunno here ......

Hopefully we come back strong in the 4th.

He's the opposite of Craig. Kirksey is the best ILB at defending the pass. He compliments Karlos Dansby.

Yeah, as soon as I heard Christian I was ecstatic, but this has thrown me off.

I don't know too much about him, so it's hard to judge, but it does remind me of a Veikune type of move.

Not a fan of this pick. Very, very average. Would have gone with M. Bryant myself.

Yep. Preston Brown, Skov, Christian Jones... and we went with Kirksey.

Same old Browns.

He's got some talent, I'm just surprised where we took him. I had him as a 4th/5th rnd pick.

Team captain, 4.5 40, played as a true freshman, can cover the pass and rush the passer.

Undersized, going to get eaten up a lot.

Reach in the 3rd.

He can cover, he can hit, and he can rush the passer, plays sideline to sideline and is kind of a turnover machine. I'm ok with it.

I don't know a thing about the kid but from that reel he plays nasty. Almost built like a CB.

Pettine wants a certain type, that fits his system. Gotta figure Kirksey is that guy.

He'll be fine. Get his ass in the weight room and pour some protein shakes into him. Get 10-15 pounds of muscle on him and he'll fit in just fine.
We can always take a bigger banger type LB in the 4th and rotate them in.

I got a feeling that since we didn't go for a WR in the 2nd rd. A lot of these guys are gonna complain no matter what we do. So, CBS says 4th or 5th rd LB and of course they know more than our FO does We would not have picked him if we had him rated at 4th rd. We had him rated higher for our needs and he can play ILB or OLB. Great addition for our LB's.

And mean streak. Seems like that's the trend I'm seeing. Violent and lots of additude. Interesting.

Well, his measurables match up well with Kiko Alonso, so I'll just hope Pettine can work his magic again.

Scouting report very similar to Alonso. Alonso was 1 inch taller and 5 pounds heavier. Not who I would have taken but I will trust in Farmer and Pettine. Kirksey had a strong senior bowl week according to reports and looks like an athletic playmaker. Like the pick and potential.

One thing I really like is the staff seems to have a vision and is filling those holes.

Man...If we got the guy in that youtube highlight video...

We just made a mistake.

For a highlight vid, that guy didn't look fast and he didn't look physical.

He isn't physical, but he is fast running a 4.50. I wanted Preston Brown, but to be fair he is suppose to excel in coverage so maybe he's a better fit for what we want??????

I was going to put Kirksley in my mock but changed my mind as I figured he was a little small and probably more of a OLB and wasn't really a striker...but I liked him...thought he presented excellent value mid to late round 4...but we grabbed him in round 3...let's hope he pans out

It seems like Kirksey is a player that should only play in sub packages. Pettine plays in sub packages more often than not.

First time I saw him play was last year against Ohio State. The guy was all over the field. He gives maximum effort. Willing to stick his nose in to make a play. Played outside linebacker for Iowa. I think he can play effectively inside for this team. Good pick.
