Looks like a solid value.
I think.
Not someone I knew about, but he carried a 3rd round grade on CBS. He's a big boy at 5'9" and 225#.

Good. Was hoping for another muscular short guy in Jerrick McKinnon, but this works too.

If that's all we gave up...sure...why not.
Can't say I've ever seen this guy take a snap, but we needed help at RB and if carries a 3rd round grade...again...why not.
***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy. Manziel, see Josh Gordon. Dumbass.***

http://t.co/piuPdARzu5http://www.espncleveland.com/common/more.php?m=49&post_id=31981Man, the picture of him on this article makes him look like the Bus, with enormous thighs. While the excitement for the NFL draft builds, and the speculation heightens regarding the Browns’ No. 4, No. 26 and No. 35 choices in the first two rounds, the franchise’s long-term success could just as easily hinge on its ability to hit with the pair of third- and fourth-round choices it will make on the final day of the draft, Saturday, May 10. The Browns hold the Nos. 71 and 83 overall choices in Round Three and the Nos. 106 and 127 overall selections in Round Four. This is the first in a series of which players could prove Third Round and Down gold for the Browns in 2014 and beyond. Player: Terrance West Size: 5-9, 225 pounds. Position: Running back School: Towson State Credentials: West played high school football at the same prep school (Fork Union Military Academy) as former Ohio State All-American and Heisman Trophy-winner Eddie George. No Division I-AA player wins the Heisman, of course, but West claimed the 2011 Jerry Rice Award as the top freshman among I-AA players by rushing for 1,294 yards (6.7 per-carry) and 29 touchdowns. As a sophomore in 2012, he gained 1,046 yards and scored 14 TDs, while averaging 5.4 yards per-carry. Then last year, West blew up with NCAA-FCS-single-season records of 413 carries, 2,519 yards and 41 touchdowns in leading his team to the national championship game. West gained 354 yards and scored five touchdowns in Towson’s upset of Eastern Illinois and quarterback Jimmy Garrapollo. Why he makes sense for Browns: With Kyle Shanahan as offensive coordinator, it’s no stretch to see him envisioning West as a clone of Alfred Morris, who in two seasons under Shanahan has gained more than 2,800 yards. Sure, the Browns signed Ben Tate in free agency, but that two-year deal compels them to think at least a bit about grabbing a workhorse back for the future. West has the power and durability to be that guy, having shown an ability to slash, cut, run over defenders and also contribute as a pass-catcher. He’d be a wise choice in Round Three and an absolute steal in Round Four.

7. Terrance West, Towson 5'11", 223# Round: 4 Really good patience and knows when to cut. Good change-of-direction. He doesn't make the highlight, ankle-breaking circus moves but his cuts are smart and optimal. Good speed at the FCS level. Big and strong, too. Absolutely demolished Eastern Illinois in the playoff game. Shows the ability to play well in poor field conditions and in good ones. Can have a long career in the NFL in that he is big without too low of body fat, and always seems to avoid direct hits despite his size. Played with two fullbacks at Towson and will likely face new challenges and many teams don't use a fullback in their primary offense. (vs. Eastern Illinois, Eastern Washington, and North Dakota State) http://www.cornerblitz.com/2014/Rankings/Post-Combine/RB.aspx

Really like West. Very talented, and seems like a great fit.
Feel much better about the RB situation now, with Tate and West in the fold.
Running game should be good this year, and it's gonna need to be given the QB and WR situations.

For what it's worth, the Wikipedia write-up on him.
84 TDs in 3 seasons including 41 last season and more than 2500 yards.

Think it's more like "Let's become the Jets." Either way, this team has a plan and is executing it.
They are going to HURT people.

I like the idea of building the defense, and being able to run the ball when we want ..... but man, we still have to be able to pass it a little.

Solid pick. Just listened to his presser with the CLE media and the guy is excited to play. Rumors were Pitt and Baltimore were looking at him. T West

Like I said, I don't know a lot about him, but he physically reminds me of the Bus, and he looks like a AFCN RB, especially with those massive thighs. He must have incredible leg power.

Or San Fransisco. Both teams play great defense and run the ball. Works for them, could work for us. Has to without any true #1 wide receiver this season. Ground and pound seems like our only real option. At least until we sign or trade for a #1 WR.

Neither SEA or SF have a #1 WR.
We are about to lose our #1 WR.
I'll take their results. Works for me.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I like the pick. Good value for the slot and West was one of my top5 RBs. I'm happy overall.
Even coming around on our LBer. Christian Kirksey is disappointing considering who else was there, but they apparently wanted a Shazier-lite, which is what he is.

He's not fast, but it looks like he knows how to set up his blocks effectively, and like he has good vision.

I think Crabtree would be considered a #1. I'd sure as hell take him right now Wonder if the niners would trade him for Gordon? lol

http://www.baltimoremagazine.net/2014/5/...-nfl-draft-pickThe NFL draft is May 8-10 and, at some point during those three days, Baltimore native and Towson University alum Terrance West will almost certainly hear his name called, and his boyhood dream will be a reality. West will be one of 200-plus players drafted, but no one has had quite his path to the NFL. Growing up fatherless in a tough West Baltimore neighborhood, Terrance West, nonetheless, became a star running back at Northwestern High School. He knew he had the talent to play after he graduated, but he needed to get his SAT scores up, so he attended prep school. But after a year without scholarship offers, West started working at Jimmy Jazz clothing store selling shoes and continued to dream of playing collegiate football. After failed attempts to be a walk-on at Morgan State and University of Maryland, West decided to try Towson, which was seeking a fresh start for its football program. (The Tigers had only had one win the entire 2010 football season.) “I came into the office at 4 a.m. for 5:45 practice and Terrance was already there, after taking two buses from Baltimore City,” says Towson coach Rob Ambrose. “It was that day I knew there was drive in him that you don’t see in most people these days.” After three years, West became Towson’s all-time leading rusher with 4,854 yards and 84 touchdowns (he rushed for 2,509 yards and 41 touchdowns this past season), and he helped lead Towson to the FCS Championship game. “Where you went to school won’t save you,” says West. “If you want to play in the NFL, you have to earn it.” The list of Towson University students who have played in the NFL can be counted on one hand, so it’s quite an accomplishment for West to be one of them. Not bad for a guy who was selling shoes four years ago. We might have something here... A REAL hardhat kinda guy, work all day and ask for more.
Go Browns !!!!

I love ground and pound and love nothing more than running the ball down people's throats, but at some point we need to stretch the field or the opposing D is going to constantly put 8 men in the box. Who is our scary vertical threat? Cameron? Benjamin???? Hawikins?
