Well it's time to go back and redo everything the way you would have done it. Then we throw this thread into liquid nitrogen, come back in 3-years and laugh at everybody who was adamant we pick so and so at #4 when they busted out 2 years earlier. Or show everyone how right you are, and print out this thread for your scouting department resume.

The way it works;
1) You can take any of the trades the Browns took or keep the original draft picks. You can't make your own trades out of pure speculation. You can choose to take the Browns tradedown to 9 and also opt out of the trade back to #8 if you wish however ...
2) You cannot make trades that didn't happen.
3) You cannot pick anybody that was picked before the pick you are sitting at ... even if it involves the Browns. For example, you cannot say you would of avoided the trade up to #22 and just picked Johnny Manziel at #26. We have to assume that someone else took him at 22. Same thing with GIlbert at #8. You can't refuse the trade and take him at #9. Otherwise it's just wild speculation as to who might of been available when. Just pick guys that were on the board when that pick was actually made.
4) You have the benefit of hindsight ... so all those guys that screamed for us to take Manziel or Bridgewater at #4, can now take solace and draft them at 22 or 26 if you like to.

Here's the trades we made:
2015 6th rounder -> for 7th round, 3rd pick (Ravens)
3rd round, 30th pick -> for 4th round, 6th pick; 6th round, 4th pick (Niners)
1st round, 22nd pick -> for 1st round, 26th pick, 3rd round, 19th pick (Eagles)
1st round, 8th pick -> for 1st round, 9th pick, 5th round, 5th round 5th pick (Vikings)
1st round, 9th pick, 2015 first and 4th rounder -> for 1st round, 4th pick (Bills)

And our original picks:
1st, #4: Traded to Bills
1st, #26: Traded to Eagles
2nd, #3: Bitonio
3rd, #7: Kirksey
3rd, #19: Traded to Eagles
4th, #6: Traded to Niners
4th, #27: Desir
5th, #5: Traded to Vikes
6th, #4: Traded to Niners
7th, #3 Traded to Ravens

Considering every player we took were consensus top 100 players, and we have stashed 10 picks away for next year as well it's kind of hard to argue or "redo" much, but I'll play......

1. Same
1b. Same
2. Same
3a. Preston Brown over Kirksey
3b. Same
4. Same

We really had an excellent draft, and maximized our value. The best draft I can remember in a long time. Six top 100 players is pretty friggin impressive, and love the value they got from the Bills.

Yeah, outside of drafting Manziel and Kirksey, there's not a whole lot I would change.

Would have accepted BUF trade and not traded up to 8, 22 or 94 and kept the 3rd, 5th and 6th

1a CB Fuller
1b QB Bridgewater
2 WR M.Lee
3a FS Brooks
3b OG G.Jackson
4a OLB Bradford or WRs Bryant/Ellington
4b RB White
5 QB Murray
6 CB/FS EJ Gaines
7 Skov

+ 1st and 4th in 2015.

Lots of hindsight in it, but just wanted to show what was possible to those who rave about our draft.

1st, #4: (Traded) This is a tough one ... I really wanted Watkins to begin with and with Gordon's possible suspension, the pick is right there to be made. Still, that 2015 Bills first rounder is too much to pass up. I think the Browns wanted either Evans or Gilbert at 9, and when Evans went at 7 ... they moved up to 8. I think I'd make that trade too.

1st, #8: Gilbert ... I'm going to stick with what the Browns did here

1st, #26: Bridgewater. Probably risky ... but I'd stick to my guns here at stand pat. I'd keep my picks and hope the QBs fall. If JFB falls to 26th, he falls. If he doesn't I take an equally interesting prospect in Teddy.

2nd, #3: Jordan Matthews. Especially with Gordon potentially out. We needed a WR to begin with. I really like the Bitonio pick, but I think Matthews was just as good of a value at this spot, and we really need WR at this point. My guess is that Marquis Lee doesn't have a good doctor's report, so he's probably a big health risk which is why he fell.

3rd, #7: Chris Borland. I'll probably regret this later. Chances are Kirksey converts into a better LB as Pettine probably knows way better than I ... but I'd still probably go with the guy that played ILB in college.

3rd, #19: Since I would still have this pick ... Terrance West. I'd keep all those other late rounders.

4th, #6: Russell Bodine, C, I'd of prefered to take Stork, but he went the pick before
4th, #27: Desir ... I'd stick with this pick with the WRs addressed.
5th, #5: (Traded to Vikes)
6th, #4: Robert Herron, WR ... I think this guy has some good value here.
7th, #3: Shayne Skov ... Seriously, how did this guy go undrafted?

To play along, who would you have taken instead? Bridgewater and Borland possibly?

I didn't mind the trades, because I just don't see the reason to bring in 8/10 rookies. We are already one of the youngest teams in the NFL, and I have a hard time making my roster even younger with nearly 15-20% of the roster being rookies. I went in hoping they would keep the drafted players to about 5-7 and use the rest to move up and they did. I get the bottom of the roster is still an issue and we need players there, but I like the idea of getting some of the players who are undoubtedly going to be cut and adding veterans who can help instead.......jmho.

honestly, Farmer took guys that I loved going in. I would have maybe taken a chance on Lee over taking one of my favorites Bitonio, but really, I'm too happy with Farmer's draft to change much.

Even the one questionable pick (Kirksey) makes sense to me. He's Shazier-lite and having LBers who can move that well sideline-to-sideline is becoming more and more important in the NFL. So, I can get behind the decision even if I didn't like the particular player much.

Great draft.

First, let me say I am happy with how the draft played out, especially since we were able to convince legit receivers to come here after the draft AND we signed Crowell.

OK pure hindsight based on knowing what we know now...

9) CB Fuller (1st CB)
26) QB Carr (2nd QB)
35) WR Lee (2nd WR)
71) FS Brooks (3rd rd -- 2nd FS)
83) OG Schofield (4th rd)
106) WR Bryant (2nd rd)
127) RB White (4th RB)
145) WR Street (3rd rd)
180) RB Seastrunk (3rd RB)
217) LB Skov (2nd ILB)
+BUF 2014 1st
+BUF 2014 4th

Places I would have deviated as it was going...

8) CB Gilbert
22) QB Manziel (thought the first Round was brilliant)
35) WR Lee
71) LB Skov
106) WR Bryant
127) OG Richardson
180) FS Bailey
217) LB Christian Jones

I'm surprised to see Seastrunk go so low as well. Even LT (the runningback, not the linebacker) had really good things to say about him, and thought he was one of the better RBs in the draft.

This is what I would have done:

9- Kyle Fuller CB VT

26-Teddy Bridgewater QB Louisville

35-Donte Moncrief WR Ole Miss

71-Chris Kirksey LB Iowa

83-Terrance West RB Towsen

106-Dakota Dozier OL Furman

127-Pierre Desir CB Lindenwood

145-Devin Street WR Pitt

My picks may be wrong but I wouldn't have used my fifth to trade up for Manziel..

I would have went Borland at 71, but this pretty much what I would have preferred.

I actually thought they were after Preston Brown but Kirk seems to be able to play all the positions.

Well, it's not really surprising since we DID have 6 top 106 picks and Kirksey and West really weren't "consensus" top 100 guys, more like among the 50+ fringe guys ranked between 80-130, depending on who you trust

We had a good draft, because we were set up to have one, that's how I see it, but we didn't maximize our value imho. It doesn't take a genius to do something with 3 high extra picks and signing off a ridiculous offer from the Bills. Farmer made two crucial decision mistakes at 26 and 35 in my opinion, although he did get good "value" by most accounts.

Overall the theme was that he picked decent prospects at mostly appropriate (don't see any "value steals", really) spots, but left players on the board that would have as much upside but a quicker impact. My suspicion is that they bought high on a lot of "hype" and "dream big" type players. There's some boom or bust tendency there. Does not have to be a bad thing though, but some aggressive bets.

To end on a positive note, I too saw some kind of a plan at least, good or bad remains to be seen, but liked the confidence in their decisions even though I disagreed with some.

Now win games

#8 - Justin Gilbert CB/Oklahoma St.
#22 - Johnny Manziel QB/Texas A&M

Here are my changes...

2nd Round - Jordan Matthews WR/Vanderbilt
3rd Round - Chris Borland ILB/Wisconsin
4th Round - Andre Williams RB/Boston College
5th Round - Jared Abbrederis WR/Wisconsin
7th Round - Shayne Skov ILB/Stanford

With Josh Gordon on the verge of suspension I'm stunned we didn't draft any receivers.

In terms of value for selections at WR, OG/OT, and ILB it doesn't shock me they chose to let WR slide and grab these lesser valued slots in the 2nd/3rd. If they are worried about snagging a #2 or #1 WR that Bills pick or our own pick would be a much better slot assuming the talent at the position is decent next year.

I'd keep the draft the same. I consider Mathews instead of Bitonio and then grabbing Gabe Jackson but meh I don't know enough about their plans or how well Bitonio fits the ZBS compared to Jackson.

I desperately wanted Jordan Matthews or Marqise Lee at #35

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

1. Take the trade(I think Buffalo will be bad again this year, and will ikely result in ANOTHER top 10, possibly top 5 pick for us next year. That's hard to pass on, even if it means not getting Wakings)
2. Take the Trade to move up and get Gilbert
3. Stay at 26 and take Xavier Su'a-Filo
4. Take Marquise Lee at 35
5. Preston Brown with 3rd round 7th pick
6. Take Terrance West in round 3 pick 19
7. Take Dessir with 4th round 6th pick
8. Take Zach Mettenberger 4th round 27th pick
9. Take Storm Johnson 6th round 4th pick.
10. Make trade with Ravens.

Good point, best point so far in all these discussions of the draft, as far as only using 6 out of 10 picks, being too young in the NFL is terrible, as many have shown.
