Just so everyone is caught up, all three of Crowell's weapons charges are from a single event where he complied with an officer's request to search his car when the officer said he smelled marijuana. He found no marijuana but found a gun with an altered serial number.

That they couldn't link to Crowell, thus his charges were dropped.

All three but you only site one gun with an altered serial number? What were the other two?

The three charges were all about the one gun... One was for altering a firearm or somethhing like that.

Same incident.

Other felony was for being in a school zone. Misdemeanor was for the same gun.

Ahh, one of those charges where they really didn't do anything additional, just a new charge because we can kind of thing.

The three charges all related back to that one gun. I'd guess, a serial number felony, and the other two would probably be related to unlawful possession of the gun (My guess would be undocumented and something related to age).

PDR, I'm not saying that I would do it, because I wouldn't. I'm just surprised that another 31 teams wouldn't touch him. Before this entire mess he was the highest ranked TE and I'm just surprised that no one has touched him.

Some interesting names at CB/FS....they pretty much have pickd up all high INT prospects left. Whitley is the FBS all time leader with 15 INTs? Wow.

Let's do some amateur cut up scouting. Tell me what you see. Whitley vs Ole Miss (with WR Moncrief)

(btw: can anyone tell me how to work a link into a vid? I tried "URL" and "YouTube", but it won't show up. Thanks)

I've been ignoring the Rb pick out of Towsen for the last 48 hours, but reading that, I have a question for the board.

Is T. West from Towsen better than Chris Ogbonnaya? And Can he fill the same role, can he be the "Fullback" that's only a fullback by name, mostly another tailback?

Huh? Terrance West is better than Chris Ogbonnaya by leaps and bounds.

I watched the videos after I saw we signed him. Reminded me of Michael Sam in that he looked awful all game then was involved in some big play/turnover. Didn't hustle to the plays, didn't like to hit, but would manage a big play.

Sorry, talking about Whitley

I hope that this Crowell kid works out, because he seems to have incredible talent. Unfortunately, his drive and determination, and willingness to work hard seem to be in question.

If they can get his head on straight, though, he might be a real steal, and a powerful team with West.

I know I'm way behind here...

but I think Connor shaw is going to turn out to be the best pickup. The kid is a gamer, and battles and is a grinder at his job. He is so similar to Manziel, watch him push VY right off the roster.

I like what we've got for UDFA's, but I'm jealous of Jacksonville's haul.

Jacksonville Jaguars
Stephen Morris QB Miami

Marcel Jensen TE Fresno State
Craig Loston S LSU
Christian Jones LB Florida State
Josh Wells OT James Madison
Reggie Jordan TE Missouri Western

How hilarious would it be if Morris won the backup job and Bortles was third string?

Let's be honest, you are just jealous of Morris.

They added Tyler Shatley now, too. Man they are killing it in UDFA.

Who wouldn't want to play for the Los Angeles Jaguars? Major city, new stadium, great weather. I get the appeal.

AC Leonard signed with the Vikes. Bridgewater just gets another major weapon their to match up with Cordelle and Peterson. Norv Turner is going to have fun with them.

I have a feeling that he's not going to make the final roster.

If I had to pick an UDFA who I realistically expect to make the final roster, and maybe even contribute, it would be Crowell. He's an extremely talented kid, and the epitome of what Pettine talked about when he said that coaches are paid to get the fullest of a player's potential out of him. Crowell is a top level NFL talent, with a lot of head trouble. If the coaches get his head straight, he will be a superstar.

Theres a good chance we stash both Crowell(if his head is on straight) and Shaw to the PS and eventually the roster when we have injuries. With this offense I see us carrying 5 RB's, fullback included. We could likely see Tate, West, Pressely(FB), Lewis and Obi with Crowell on the PS. Baker isn't eligible for the PS this year so he';d have to beat our Lewis or Obi. That 3 way battle should be a good one for camp.

If Pressley is a starting calibur FB, then I think Obi is gone.

Being the best of what we used to have doesn't mean you get to keep your job.

After watching some of them play, my sleeper is Jason Hendricks, the S from Pittsburgh. Saw two 2012 games and he looked draftable to me there and much better then some that were drafted. He is a very reliable last line of defense, very good tackler, who takes the quickest path to the carrier without hesitation or fear of contact. In coverage, he is a very good zone player with very good sense for positioning following the action and he plays the ball well, which explains his high INT numbers. Never saw him man to man as he was mostly lined up deep.

Not sure how he looked 2013, but he did run a poor 4.8 forty at his ProDay. He plays faster than that though (and did run a very good 6.84 3cone). Watch out for this guy. He looked better than Whitey and Nelson to me and he does have a shot since he plays ST. WVU's D.Cook looked intriguing too in the one game I watched.

At WR, I like Snead over C.Jones. Snead is a very smart and polished WR, runs good routes, does a lot of little stuff the right way to get himself open, fights for passes, good hands, not afraid over the middle. He is somewhat a stationary target, though he did push his forty under 4.6 at his ProDay. Jones looked very raw to me and more like a situational WR, but only had one game to watch, so who knows.

ILB Blair simply lacks athleticism, don't see him making the team. I'm a little disappointed that they couldn't score one of Skov or Bullough as UDFA, who have much better tape. DT Barnett has a very quick first step going for him and a good motor and he can be disruptibe, but he doesn't use his hands, zero technique, lacks strength and doesn't finish tackles, lacks awareness. Longshot

Loving the idea of Shaw...

I wanted us to draft him before we got Manziel, but with him, he could be even better for us. He is very similar to Manziel in play style, hard work, and quality. Hoyer, Manziel, Shaw would be a great 1,2,3...
Tyler Thigpen is a decent backup, but has pretty much peaked as a player (at least youd think...being that he has played, and spent time as a starter, and now bounces around the league) and wont improve, and wont improve us either.

Hoyer is a great player to have as a leader because he doesn't have so much an ego that he isn't willing to help his teammates, but he knows the work ethic required to be successful. He has gone from career backup to player that NFL teams believe has starter potential.
Shaw is a hard worker, with limited ego, but plays very similar to Manziel. He is a slightly less productive version of Manziel, but also makes less mistakes. Would be a great backup, and injury replacement to Manziel...that being said...Hoyer still has some quality...Shaw would be a great guy to have in 3 years still be around.

Production seems to be the theme with most of these guys. I was reviewing a lot of them, and kept reading "broke school-record" and "all-time-leader at..."

Seems like these UDFAs are about as experienced and polished as you can get post-draft.

Well ... evidently this kid entered the NFL in 2012 ...... and is a FB, not a RB ....... and he went to Morgan State, not Maryland .... but other than that the rest of the Tweet seems to be about right ....

He was on the Bengals Practice Squad, after he failed to unseat .... ironically enough ..... Chris Pressley as the Bengals FB.
