Ok just a little riddle which seems to have no good answer.. Assuming Meechigan get's the nod over Florida after USC's horrible O-line play today. Should Ohio State lose to the U of M, using the same logic that was used to possibly place them into the national title game. Should Ohio State be the national champions by default? And yes it makes me nervous to have to play Meechigan again. But IMHO , if the shoe were on the other foot this would not even have ever been discussed. I do not think Michigan deserves another shot they had their chance to play in the title game as did everyone in the position to do so.

I just find it humorous that OSU's nightmare came true. They now (most likely) will have to play the only team in the country that actually has a chance to beat them in the NC game. USC would have been a cakewalk.........now, OSU is starring a pissed off Michigan team in the face.
Regardless of what happens, it looks like a playoff is now on the horizon.........which is what I wanted more then a possible rematch.

if michigan gets the nod to play for the bcs, and they do in fact beat ohio state, they are the champions, like it or not...
i honestly think we'd beat michigan again, i'm not that worried about it...
michigan did not turn the ball over once and still lost, ohio state scored 42 points without the benefit of ever having a short field
and you put those 2 speed demons at wideout on the fast, clean field in glendale, and troy smith will once again have a field day against michigan
i do agree that they may be the only team that stands somewhat of a chance against ohio state
we'd soundly beat usc, we'd blast florida...
michigan fans, do you really want lloyd carr in a bowl game against jim tressel?
michigan may be pissed off, but ohio state is and will be ready for this game...

Well maybe a Po'ed U of M. But the fact of the matter is if it had not been for 3 mistakes by OSU, the game was a blow out. So maybe OSU is a little pissed that Michigan thinks they deserve anbother shot. Like I said if the shoe were on the other foot this would not even be discussed. Good thing there are soooo many Michigan homers in the media, second only to Notre Dame But Mike Hart already gave bulliten board material to the buckeyes and "guaranteed" a Michigan win if they play again. Hrrrm? I am getting pumped up already. Maybe this is a good idea. Hope they travel well. Phoenix is Columbus west afterall.

here's something else to debate...
ohio state was a few bad snaps from winning this game comfortably
let's say those don't happen, and the buckeyes walk out of that game winning by 14-17 points
with usc's loss today, now what happens? does florida just need to win? what if arkansas beats florida? do they get in? does michigan still stay close even though they lost by 2-3 possessions?

michigan fans, do you really want lloyd carr in a bowl game against jim tressel? It's more about Troy Smith and less about JT. Don't get me wrong, Tressel is a great coach but Smith is an even better player. With Smith at QB, a monkey could throw $%^& at a wall full of plays and he could make the monkey look like an offensive genius. Whoever makes the better defensive adjustments will win the game.

And what about the helmet to helmet call? Huh? What about it? Not to mention the fact it was 2 yards out of bounds. Maybe Carr should have used Tress's soundbite at his press conference and declared his player guilty of being too tall. ( snicker ) Wow! Florida is looking like they are in trouble. Might all get to see this rematch weather we want it or not.

I got excited and got off of my point in this post? Should Ohio State lose to the U of M, using the same logic that was used to "possibly" place Meechigan into the national title game. Should Ohio State be the national champions by default, in the event of a loss to U of M or share the title? Maybe strip OSU of the BIG TEN TITLE?

Nas, remember the "roughing the center" penalty on 3rd and 14?
The first game was a lot closer than it should have been.
As a Michigan fan, you should be humble, not cocky. Remember, it is Michigan, not Ohio State, that went home with a loss on November 18.
However, if Michigan wins, they will be national champs. But, they will need to win by more than three in order to avoid any sort of controversy.

Also, can OSU fans answer this question.
Florida wasn't even in the equation 7 days ago. Why are they all the sudden more worthy of a NC birth now that SC has lost? Is that because you just don't want to play Michigan again or you honestly think Florida is the second best team in the country? And why has your opinion changed overnight?

Uhh, no bro, I never wrote that because you are a Michigan fan you are cocky. Putting words in my mouth makes you seem illogical. I stated that you should be humble, not cocky. In case you forgot, you are the one who posted the following message: I just find it humorous that OSU's nightmare came true. They now (most likely) will have to play the only team in the country that actually has a chance to beat them in the NC game. USC would have been a cakewalk OSU is starring a pissed off Michigan team in the face. That isn't being humble, that is being cocky. In case you forgot, Michigan lost.

I think it's the truth (and you would be hard presed to find someone that would disagree with that statement). I didn't say I guarunteed Michigan would win, I said "they're the only team that can beat OSU." See the difference? If not, go look up the definition of "can" and "will." Regardless of Florida winning the SEC, they can't hang with OSU. Michigan is the only team that CAN beat OSU.......did I say they WOULD? No, I didn't......Can they? Sure. That's not being cocky, it's calling it like it is.

Here's my logic nas. If OSU would've lost again UM I would still be thinking this way. You only get one chance at the number 1 team; if you can't win the 1st time, you shouldn't get another shot.
The case for Florida is this: they beat the number 8(Arkansas), 9(LSU) and 13(Tennesse) team and their only loss was to the team that was ranked number 11(Auburn) in Auburn.
I understand the only loss UM has had was to OSU but they had their chance. Now it's time someone else gets a chance. JMO

Did you ever consider the fact that you were being cocky.
Please, do me a favor, read your statement a couple times. Read the part where you wrote that"it's humorous that OSU's nightmare came true"
What are you, some sort of psychic? Please oh great psychic, tell me how you know what OSU's nightmares are?
What's that? Your not a psychic? Well then, why would you claim that you know what OSU's nightmares are?
Perhaps you were just being cocky.
To remind you, you also noted that "OSU is starring a pissed off Michigan team in the face."
Perhaps you forgot that Ohio State and Michigan played. . . . . and Michigan lost.- That is me being cocky. But then again, Ohio State beat Michigan, so I have the right to be cocky, and you have the right to be humble.
I understand you want to have the right to be cocky, but, you are a Michigan fan, and Michigan lost.
Does that clear it up a little?

It's UM. No doubt. But, I think it sets a bad precedent when a team fails to win it's conference is rewarded with a NC game.

Because that might help explain why you're trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. I would guess the last team OSU wanted to see in the NC game was Michigan, that's why it could be considered a nightmare scenario. Why? Because they're clearly the second best team and in my opinion, they're the only team that could realistically keep OSU from winning the national title. I would be saying the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot. If Michigan beat OSU by 3 do you honestly think I would want to see see them again in the national title game? Hell no I wouldn't. If you want to call that cocky be my guest.......

Not to mention, it's a matchup seldom seen. Money has to factor into this debate too, OSU/Florida would draw more than OSU/Michigan, just because it already happened, and it's a bigger nationwide thing. Like others have said before, Michigan had their shot and blew it, now it's time for someone else. As Eminem said "You only get one shot do not miss your chance or blow this opportunity, comes once in a lifetime."

Ammo, I do agree with Nas, Michigan lost to the #1 team by three points, and they should be in the National Championship. What I don't like is this Nas's presentation of the situation as Michigan as the intimidator, and Ohio State as the intimidated.
Michigan should be in the National Championship, but Michigan fans should be humble, and understand that it took a giant stroke of luck to get them in.

It'd be a travesty if the winner of the toughest conference in college football doesn't get to play in the national championship game. Plus they had the toughest schedule in college ball this year. They had their shot and they blew it, plain and simple. You don't get second chances in college ball, period.

I totally agree with this line of thinking: Toughest schedule in the country + finishing with 1 loss (same as Michigan) + winning conference championship + Michigan already had a chance against OSU = Florida in the NC game.
